This classic, comfortable home is ideally located right on the edge of Vineyard Haven overlooking quiet and peaceful Lake Tashmoo. Begin each morning with a cup of coffee on the wraparound deck, where you can watch the birds fish and sing their morning songs. You'll be a short walk or bike ride from a sandy beach (with a lifeguard), and come home each evening to spectacular sunsets as you relax with your nearest and dearest.

What's nearby:
This home is conveniently located just one mile from the Vineyard Haven ferry dock, providing you with an easy commute to and from the island. You'll have your pick of nearby beaches, including Lake Tashmoo Town Beach (half a mile west), Tisbury Town Beach (one mile east), and Owen Park Beach (two miles southeast). The bustling, exciting town of Oak Bluffs is also just five miles east, where you'll find dozens of excellent restaurants and bars to explore.

Challenging to get the lockbox to work. Found out there are two of them. They were quick to help but confusing none the less. The drive back is quite long and bumpy/muddy/dusty but we have stayed at enough places on the island to know what to expect. Could use some updating but it would expectedly be at the cost per night. We were very happy with the place. We did not use the kitchen but it seemed to be an eclectic collection of things one might need to cook or serve. We left the slider open in the bedroom. Woke up to the Osprey announcing they were awake. Very pleasant place and experience overall. Highly recommend taking the road to the end. A quiet life guarded beach with very few occupants. We watched the sunset there one night. Perfection! The house across the bay is Chip Chop and was owned by Diane Sawyer. Worth looking it up online. Final thought. We were told a 90 year old lady owns the place. It makes sense once you see it.

Wonderful Location & Stay

One of my favorite views on the island. You'll enjoy a lovely deck to watch sunsets, big dining table to enjoy meals, and lots of walk-able trails right out your front door.

Vineyard Haven Cabin

We stayed at the Sunset cabin for 5 days as an extension of our usual vacation in MV. The space served our needs, 2 bedrooms, bathroom, kitchen for my husband, myself and our children. View off the patio was gorgeous at sunset. The drive into the property took a little getting used to (one lane dirt road with two-way traffic at times) but we enjoyed our stay overall.

Filthy Old Summer Cottage

Rundown, roaches, 3.3 miles to ferry (not 1 mile as claimed) with water access only if you are willing to tromp through 4-foot deep mud. No AC in master bedroom. Cheap mattresses. Isolated down long dirt road with no amenities in house. No grill or outdoor furniture. Too filthy to even cook in the kitchen. Pretty sure this is one of Dante’s circles of hell.

Bait and Switch

I felt the description did not accurately portray this rental. The road to the house was filled with potholes that required a very slow trek. If your plans are to go off property, I wouldn’t recommend this place. We didn’t spend one night after getting there and walking through. Would be difficult at best in the evening.

Jewel on the Cape

Hidden jewel in Martha’s Vineyard. View from back deck awesome! Beach is down the road a short walk or bike ride. House was comfortable and the water pressure for showers great! Would definitely consider renting again. We arrived at night and didn’t know the second bedroom had two steps down and fell. Would suggest a light of some kind for safety.
