We had a wonderful stay at this amazing retreat. It was so cozy and comfortable perfect for our family trip to Roundtop. There's fish to be caught, plenty of space, comfortable beds, secluded and private. We are already planning our trip back.

The house is nice and big, but our favorite part was the back patio overlooking a tank and field. We would definitely stay again if we make it back to the La Grange area.

Country Get-away

If you like the idea of getting away for a couple of days to enjoy privacy and the quiet of the country this is your destination. Fishing was the attraction for my four grandsons, they had great fun and caught plenty (don't worry, it's catch-n-release so we left them for you). We saw deer at sundown and enjoyed smores by the fire pit under the beautiful stars in Texas. The host were generous and left plenty of supplies for a comfortable stay. For us, it was a fun family memory!

We booked this house for our family to stay during our daughter’s wedding weekend. The directions were not accurate and no codes were given to the gate or the house. Vrbo customer service said we had to contact the homeowner for that info which took hours. It was late when we arrived and only half of our family came for the first night. When we woke up we saw the exterior was not mowed and the grass was very high. There was still hair in the tub and on the countertop. When the first shower was taken, the water pressure was very low and the hot water never got hotter than lukewarm. It ran out halfway through the shower. No one else was able to shower because they didn’t want to take cold showers. The second bathroom tub is very old and not desirable to use. The other family half met us at the wedding and were going to stay Saturday night at the house. After discussion the only people that stayed the second night were my husband and myself. Our entire family went home after the wedding because they didn’t want to stay at the house without being able to take showers. It was a very disappointing experience and unfortunately, an expensive one for us as we paid for the entire rental. Very overpriced for what we experienced. We contacted the homeowners and it took two weeks to make a decision on a refund. They refunded 175 of the total price which to us it was simply the cleaning fee that they did not pay the company. They need to work on the house to be in this price range.
