Lakeside Condo, 5min walk to charming small town and 20min train to Boston

Come home to a view of the lake out of your front windows, the nightly sunset off of your back deck, and an open floor plan that keeps things nice and simple inside. This recently renovated second floor apartment has been designed with great care. Enjoy some modern amenities like stainless steel appliances and hardwood floors, along with the convenience of in-unit laundry. Join the locals and go for a run around the lake, located across the street, or take a stroll down the street and enjoy the seasonal farmers market, Christmas tree stand, and the ball diamond located at Veteran's Field. Continue on a few minutes farther and dine at the local restaurants, treat yourself at the day spa, and shop at some of the town’s best boutiques. The house is located on the commuter rail train line so we provide a white noise machine for any sensitive sleepers! The charming town of Wakefield is a 10 minute walk around the lake. The train station is just a 5 minute walk down street and you arrive in Boston in 20 minutes. We offer fast wifi and gladly host remote workers, travel healthcare workers and parents visiting their adult children who live nearby. Additionally, we provide a fun collection of books, games, puzzles, music, and access to the great outdoors :) This is the owner’s unit of a two-family home (second floor). The private unit has its own in-unit laundry, front and back entrance, yard space, and back deck. One off-street parking spot is available for your use.

Great long stay

We stayed a number of weeks at the property and were really impressed by the communication we received from the owner. The stay was comfortable and the property well equipped.

What a great spot! Very comfortable , with a nice deck and grill for outside dining. Walking distance to downtown restaurants and right across the street from Lake Quannapowitt where we walked every morning. Our hosts treated us so well. Easy check-in and clear instructions. We hope to come back.

Comfortable lakeside home with Boston access

Betsy and Gordon’s place was great to spend six weeks in the fall in the Boston area. The home is clean, located on the second floor and filled with light from the east in the morning and the south during the day. The living room, dining room and kitchen are a great room concept. The living room has an electric fireplace and the heating throughout the unit kept us warm. There’s no TV but we watched shows on our laptop and wifi worked well. The kitchen has all major appliances and we were left with cupboard space to place our own food and cooking items. The kitchen is sufficiently equipped to cook or bake, which we used a lot. The bedroom is large and light filled with storage for clothing in drawers or hanging and luggage racks. The linens are good though we found the bed a bit soft and the double size adequate. The bathroom is updated and comfortable. The washer and dryer are new, large and did a great job of cleaning. There is a lovely porch on the south side with a beautiful grill, dining table and seating area. The back yard also has room to sit outside and enjoy the weather. There was ample space for us to park. There is a lake across the street, 3.3 miles around, which I ran around daily. Two grocery stores are 1/2 mile away. The train to Boston is a 10 minute walk and we found this convenient to get into the city, rather than drive and park. The train passes behind the house and the car traffic in the front are noisy but there are sound mufflers in the house to address those. I found the home easy to keep clean for the six weeks and there are cleaning supplies and equipment. Betsy was very responsive to our inquiries and addressed any issues quickly. We were comfortable in her home and would recommend it to others.

Beautiful home, great location

I enjoyed my stay at the lake house. It was beautifully remodeled, spacious, conveniently located, and spotless. The hosts were available to answer questions and added some nice touches, such as a delicious home-made banana bread. Overall a lovely place to stay.

Cozy, calm, and clean

Thoughtful features include a description of local points of interest and restaurants, an umbrella by the door, and a heated bathroom floor. The minimalist decor is very relaxing and the cleanliness of the apartment put our minds at ease. I would recommend this place to any of my friends!

Would definitely rent again!

Betsy and Gordon have done a beautiful job with renovating their space with beautiful, modern appointments, especially the very cool shower! The entire place was very clean and the banana bread was a really nice, homey touch! The grounds are also very nicely kept. They were very responsive, helpful, and friendly with any questions we had. We would absolutely stay here again and highly recommend it!

Amazing Experience!

These are by far the best hosts we’ve ever stayed with! They were so hospitable and caring, and made our stay beyond amazing. The dice was beautiful and amenities were superb. Be sure to use their recommendations for restaurants!! 11/10 stars!!! Will definitely stay again. Thank you!
