Winery on Property and located directly on the wine trail

I'm delighted to share some exciting news with you! Our winery/meadery is open on weekends on property. Just steps away from the front door, this small business venture operates independently, with its own separate entrance. To accommodate guests, the driveway has been expanded closer to the side building, and a parking lot has been put in at the front of the property. allowing for additional parking space.

The hours of operations are Fri 2-6 Sat 12-6 Sun 12-5.
Please be assured that while staying at the main house, the winery's activities will not disrupt your experience. Your privacy and enjoyment of the rental property will remain uninterrupted. It's truly a remarkable opportunity to have such a wonderful establishment on property, offering a unique and enjoyable experience during your stay.

You will see other cars there on weekends but rest assured parking in front of the 3 car garage is only for house guest, so you’ll never have to worry about parking. The presence of the small tasting room will not affect your stay at the main house. Your privacy, peace, and tranquility are of utmost importance, and the owners' efforts with the winery was done to enhance guest stays who have come to the area for the wine trail.

Staying on property of a Meadery has its perks.

What a magical place! We felt welcomed as soon as we arrived. The owners were fantastic and we enjoyed the Honey Heist both evenings. Highly recommend!

We were 8 friends who plan an annual getaway. The house was comfortable and inviting. Keeping 8 women happy is sometimes impossible, but everyone enjoyed it.

Great location on the wine trail

Nice home located on the Shawnee wine trail! This place has plenty of room and a nice fire pit to sit around. It’s fully stocked with all the essentials too.

Family Trip

The Honey Hideout is a favorite of ours! This is my second time staying there and we love everything about it. The location is perfect, the owner is great to work with and she makes the whole process so easy. The house is set up perfectly and so spacious. Thank you for sharing your place and we will be back!

Fantastic!

We just stayed here for a girls trip and the house was perfect! It had everything we needed and we loved the location. House is very clean and well kept! Plenty of space for all of us to gather in the kitchen and dining room areas, which was so nice! We can’t wait to go back!

Wonderful getaway

My five friends and I stayed at the Honey Hideout for a long weekend and had a fantastic time! The house was clean and spacious and had everything we needed. We loved all the beds and bathrooms, and we really enjoyed spending time on the deck. And you can't beat the proximity to StarView! Michelle was a great host and quick to respond to all the questions we had about the house and area. We would absolutely recommend staying here!

Great for families!

We stayed for our daughter’s graduation at SIU. It was great to be able to stay in the same house and the kids had a fun time playing in the play area. We had plenty of room to not feel crowded. This house is plenty big! The kids had fun watching the birds and deer that came through the yard. Very clean.

Weekend wedding celebration

In town to to attend a wedding celebration at Starview Vineyards. The Honey Hideout was spacious for our large group. There were bedrooms downstairs and upstairs so we were able to spread out. Large kitchen was nice to gather as a group as well as a living space downstairs. The large deck was perfect for morning coffee and enjoying the view. Backyard was well kept with a nice space for enjoying the fire pit.

Wonderful!

This was the PERFECT place to gather with friends for a wine trail birthday celebration. The house is an awesome space for a group gathering. The kitchen was huge and the dining area was spacious as well. The outdoor area and desks were so peaceful. The house was super clean! The master bathroom was so nice. This place is next door to Star View winery! The host was awesome and answered all questions promptly. We will definitely stay again!

Super nice stay

Very good communication with host before and during stay. House was super clean and very cute. There were a lot of kitchen appliances, dishes, cooking pots and pans. Quiet and peaceful, even with Meadery on the property. Our only “complaint” is that the furniture in both upstairs and downstairs living areas was not super comfortable for long term sitting. Otherwise, highly recommended 💕

Girls trip

The house did not disappoint. Great location, plenty of room and very clean. The kitchen was very well stocked with utensils and they even provided coffee and condiments. We enjoyed watching multiple deer from the upper deck. My only concern was that there wasn’t a hair dryer in any of the 3 bathrooms.

Beautiful and quiet

We had a wonderful time! The property was spotless. There was ample room to move about and not feel like we were in each other’s business. The outside space was well maintained and very open. There’a a winery just down the road, technically walking distance but no shoulder and some blind spots on rolling hills. We spent some time at a cool Castle playground about a 20 minute drive from the house and did a great hike at Giant City State Park. It’s such a wonderful spot for a getaway to relax and enjoy nature.

Great House/Excellent Location

This was or annual girls trip to the wine trail; mothers, daughters, sisters cousins and friends and this house did not disappoint. It was so clean and spacious and very very well appointed. The firepit was amazing and there was plenty of firewood. Always plenty of hot water, which with all girls is pretty important and good water pressure! Bathrooms were clean as were all the rooms. We had a fantastic time! Thank you MIchelle!! You were an excellent host. We will be back!!

Great house for large groups

Our family stayed at the Honey Hideout over Labor Day weekend. The house is spacious and well appointed. We had everything we needed. There were nine adults in our party, and we had plenty of room to gather. The fire pit was a nice touch. There were plenty of indoor and outdoor games to entertain us.

Great stay, lovely house!

Our whole family loved this house! It was roomy but still felt cozy and has a great deck and yard for kids to run around. It is very convenient to wineries and outdoor adventures in Shawnee. It was very clean and had everything we needed. I would highly recommend!

Motorcycle trip

Great place! Lot's of space to spread out. Very convenient for large groups. We really enjoyed our stay. Michelle is very attentive. When we got to the home with 2 veicals and trailers loaded with motorcycles there were some fallen trees on the drive way. It wasn't a hassle we drove around them. I reached out to Michelle and let her know. The next day they were removed. Thanks to her we were able to use the drive way the rest of the trip. The home is beautiful and very clean. I would recommend this home to anyone.
