Mammies memories a quiet country setting

this is a three bedroom house that sits behind a small country church. It is all on one floor. There is a ramp going into the house from the back. the house was totally renovated in 2020. the kitchen is brand new. the original bathroom was gutted and remodeled and another bathroom was added. The house has one bedroom with a king bed, one bedroom with queen bed and one bedroom with full bed. There is a large living room and dining room and a beautiful front porch where you can watch the deer in the evenings. The house has a lovely gas fireplace for wintertime enjoyment. We have update the internet with Starlink that will allow you all the speed you need to upload and download. While there is no cell phone service here, there is a land line and you can use your cell phones through the internet. You are a mile from South Mill Creek Lake with great trout, bass, catfish,crappie and bluegill fishing. you are minutes from all the local trout fishing rivers and streams that are stocked from October to May. You can kayak on the lake if you like. you are 10 minutes from Reeds Creek and Smoke Hole to Rock Climb and 45 minutes to Seneca Rocks, Dolly Sods and Spruce Knob. Travel a bit further and you can spend sometime at Blackwater falls.

Climbing Trip

This was our fourth time staying at Mammies Place for a climbing trip to Reed's Creek/Smoke Hole and, as always, it was stellar. It's a welcoming, quiet location with a well appointed and clean home.

Mammies Place is clean, well appointed, close to Franklin and close to climbing at Reed’s Creek and Smoke Hole. The large front porch is the perfect place to relax in this very quiet location. Danita is a wonderful host.

Climbing Trip

We've stayed at Mammies Place several times for a regular climbing trip to Reed's Creek and Smoke Hole. It's a fantastic location for access to climbing and Franklin. In addition, the quiet setting can be enjoyed from the cozy front porch. Mammies Place is clean, well-appointed and very comfortable. Danita is a wonderful host.

This is the third time that we have stayed here while climbing at Reed’s Creek and Smoke Hole. The house clean and well appointed. It is in a very peaceful location that can be enjoyed from the comfortable porch. Highly recommended.

Wife’s birthday

The house was beautifully restored. Very clean and quiet. Kitchen fully stocked and beds super comfortable. Pictures don’t due it justice at all. Loved the front porch and sitting watching all the firefly. My wife was super happy. Thank you for sharing so we could make memories of our own there also

Great property for a quiet getaway

This is a great place for a quiet getaway. The house feels cozy and homey without feeling quaint. Updated kitchen and bath add a modern feel to a house with beautiful views. Great for a fishing trip with access to several rivers.

Danita was wonderful to work with and very professional and helpful. The house was very comfortable and well stocked with extra touches and care. Very clean with nice, well stocked kitchen. Snowy and cold but beautiful!

Place was nice and kept up and in quiet location.

Great place only issue we had was could not go outside in the evening. There was a horrible smell and dident allow up to go outside before almost getting sick and having to go back inside . But that was the only issue amd we enjoy the area and locals

in speaking with the neighbors, the smell was from the local poultry houses and nothing we can control. this was a random issue due to the age of the poultry and not being able to get the chickens out on schedule due to weather conditions. this has not appeared to be an issue for other guests that have stayed. and in asking them, they didn't notice any odor. one couple stays monthly at this house.

Amazing :)

This was a clean and well stocked home. Everything we needed was there. The property has excellent views. We are going to be making this our yearly get together. I can’t say enough about this awesome place. Property owner is very responsive for all questions.

Fantastic!

This was a fantastic slice of heaven. It was private, secluded, and beautiful. It was away from everything with the basic amenities needed for comfort. The house is decorated beautifully, super clean, and the beds were comfortable! Definitely, a return to again vacation spot!

Serene rural retreat.

Well appointed house away from it all in a beautiful valley. Excellent for stress free relaxation getaway, beautiful nature, scenery around the area. Great motorcycling roads and close to some famous natural attractions. Definite a comeback again.
