The Emma McCall House at 174 Unit #3 This beautiful 4 bed, 4 bath apartment has natural light, full length piazza embraces Charlestonâs rich history just one block from King St. Recognized with five Carolopolis Awards and the SC Governorâs Award for Historic Restoration, this retreat is perfect for families or groups seeking an authentic Charleston experience.

The grounds feature outdoor garden areas with fountains, dining areas, fire tables and barbecues. In the evenings, this oasis sparkles with outdoor lighting, making it the perfect place for nightcaps after a day of exploring.
This is not a typical short-term rental; it is not a renovated âdependencyâ or a newly constructed unit in an old neighborhood, nor is it situated on a tiny lot in a questionable or remote area. The old hardwood floors, tall ceilings, standing seam copper roof, copper guttering, original moldings, plasterwork, old glass windows, and solid panel doors exude a special warmth, character, and charm that is very difficult to achieve in new construction. This is the real deal!
*If needing early check-in or late check-out please DO NOT ask until the day before check-in at earliest due possible last minute rentals. If you absolutely NEED it, I would suggest renting the night prior*
*Pet Policy: Only Small Pets under 25 pounds (maximum of 2) allowed with prior written approval ($200 non-refundable fee per pet).Must have authorization prior to reservation.*

Bill and Jacquelin are lifelong Charlestonians who have raised our family in Charleston. We are passionate about everything "Charleston"--history, culture, architecture. We spent 20 years on our sailboat in Europe, staying in VRBO places whenever we could. While we love Europe, we feel Charleston gives you the best European experience in America but also offers the best of modern American life. We bought the properties at SaintPhilipSquare in 1996 and began converting them to short term rental in 2010 because we believe these historic properties give visitors the best opportunity to live like a Charlestonian. We love the VRBO concept and always stay in VRBO properties when we travel.

SaintPhilipSquare is THE place to be. Each "abode" is separate and unique but each one is supported by the team at SaintPhilipSquare and has the opportunity to combine with others or be alone.
SPS is in the heart of the upper King vibrant "happening" part of town. The location cannot be beat. We are one short block from King St but we are also only 1/3 mile to Calhoun St. Many properties you see in this neighborhood are actually a lot further away. than you might see. When you enjoy a drink on the porch, then walk around the corner to a fabulous restaurant, you quickly realize you have made the best choice.
We have historic properties in a contained area--charming authentic Charleston houses. We have carefully selected each item in each dwelling for its beauty, function and quality. We wanted to offer a taste of Charleston--beautiful mantels and porches with a few of our favorite antiques. But we are also open to new, modern ideas and have introduced them with the advice of our professional designer. But always we have tired to keep these properties personal, real, comfortable, interesting, stylish and "cool". We are excited to be offering this space for short term rental.
Our apartments have all received rave reviews for their amenities and for being drop dead attractive.
