Lol Ka’naab 5 is a roomy and colorful two bedroom two bathroom condo, located on the pristine beaches of Akumal’s Half Moon Bay. The view is mesmerizing and the water is only steps away. This condominium is a short walk from some of our favorite restaurants and boutiques, making it a great spot for views and convenience.

The principal bedroom is furnished with a queen size bed and ensuite bath fitted with a rainfall shower. The guest room has two comfortable twin-sided beds (can be made into a king bed upon request), and a private bathroom. Both bedrooms are private and comfortable, equipped with their own independent AC units.

The kitchen is full sized and has bar seating for four people. Off of the kitchen, the living room has a large couch and a wonderful view of Half Moon Bay through the unit's large sliding glass doors. The terrace has been furnished with a small seating area and a hammock that overlooks the condominiums private pool and the beaches of Half Moon Bay beyond.

Lol Ka’naab 5 is a comfortable unit, in a beautiful beachfront location. Our team is happy to recommend this unit for it’s convenient location and great value! Lol Ka'naab #5 was also featured on Beachfront Bargain Hunt on HGTV!

Great property for an amazing destination.

Ive gone to Akumal several times and this property was very nice. Right on the beach!The snorkeling was great. Walking distance to the Mini market,golf cart rental next door and amazing restaurants scattered about the gated,secure area. Such a cool, laid back place. Hope to visit again next year!

Nice place in a wonderful area

The place is very nice, the only thing we didn’t realized from the pictures was that the bathrooms don’t have a door, just a curtain. Host was really nice and super helpful and responded really fast at our messages.

Great condo in amazing setting!

We loved the condo and Akumal. It was great to be able to snorkel right in Half Moon Bay. We saw amazing sights, including a school of squid and a 4 foot long barracuda! We also happened to walk by when a turtle nest hatched and had the opportunity to help release the baby turtles into the ocean. We rode bikes everywhere and were able to go deep sea fishing at a very reasonable price. The condo was perfect, very clean and adorable. Everything was in great condition! Would love to stay there again.

This place was fine, I guess. It felt a little cold, had no spices for cooking, offered poor cutlery and dull knives and felt more like a money-maker than an enjoyable place to stay. What you see in the pictures is accurate. There are places down the way with more welcoming staff, and an at-home feel about the place. It DID have a warm shower.

Winter Escape to Akumal

Reviewer Comments: There are many positive things to our stay in unit 5 such as the view, the beach, the pool (if you use it), the shower, the bed, the maid service and the daily maintenance crew. We are grateful for all these things. But the noise level from other units and inhabitants was very loud at times, the unit needs a remodel for updating, the towels are very old, the closets are smelly.

Lovely place to stay for a week

Overall, I recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: This condo is in a lovely spot on quiet Half Moon Bay. You are literally steps from the ocean; if you don't like the sound of the surf at night, you might not want to stay here! :) Two adults and two thirteen year old boys were comfortable staying here for a week. (Though it can feel a little cramped if you have a string of bad weather days.) Drinking water is provided throughout your stay, which is awesome. It was really nice that there was a fair amount of snorkel gear there for us to use, but the inflatables for riding the waves need replacement. The pool was fun for the kids, and a good way for families in neighboring condos to meet each other. The cleaners did an amazing job cleaning the place every day, which was much appreciated! Minor quibbles: The condo could use more beach towels and hooks to hang things on and though you're unlikely to do much cooking, the kitchen supplies are pretty sparse. (No wine opener?) The folks at Akumal Direct, especially David who was our main contact and fielded a lot of emails from us, were super helpful! Before we arrived, David arranged for our golf cart rental and delivery, which was fun and great for getting around, as well as guided trips to a cenote and the Sian Ka'an biosphere/Muyil ruins -- both wonderful. And when we arrived at the condo and discovered there was no hammock, Akumal Direct delivered one right away. They even brought a little bag of Christmas presents! Our entire family loved being so close to La Buena Vida, where you can eat/drink with your feet in the sand and enjoy one of the best views ever. We also enjoyed the new La Jungla Cafe (breakfast/lunch) just down the street, which also is in a lovely (jungle) environment. Don't miss the Ya Kul Lagoon (very. close by -- nothing in Akumal is very far away; it's a delightfully small place), which is a splendid place to spend several hours. Have fun!!!

The beach was raked every morning. My favorite was watching the sun rise every morning from the balcony. The condo was exactly as the pictures show. Our air conditioner quit one night, but was fixed the next day after notifying Akumal Direct.

Great place!

Overall, I recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: The condo was very cute, extremely clean and comfy. Lovely view from the balcony. The maintenance and housekeeping team was amazing. The balconies of the three condos on our floor open on to each other, so there isn't privacy there, but everyone was very respectful during our visit. Lots of kids playing in the pool, which is also lovely! Swimming directly in front of the condo was a little tricky because of the reef and seaweed, but there is a good entry to the water a few minutes walk down the beach. Lol Ka'naab is close to the laguna - for amazing snorkelling - and also a 5 minute walk to La Lunita (best guacamole), and a 20 minute walk in to town for wonderful ceviche at Turtle Bay café. We also swam at the sandy Akumal Beach. If you walk far enough down this beach you can escape the plague of tourists coming to swim with the turtles. Great place, would stay again!

Reviewer Comments: Good service when you ask for it in Spanish from the Security Guard, otherwise call the number advised for extra towels, etc. Great view, fantastic breeze, private-outdoor decks not too private as they are connected and accessible. The indoor 'safe' is not an option, code is typed in the manual have to pay extra for them to hold and secure items. Otherwise beautiful location, clean space, roomy, charming and right in the middle of the bay. Great access to paddle boards, snorkeling, small shops, a couple of great restaurants close by. Quiet compared to other local beach tourist sites, let's keep it that way. Please be conscious of the ocean and its delicate balance of life (especially the corals) and not crush the little animals.

Simply Awesome

This property amd the management company that runs it are among the best I have ever experienced. Maid service daily, on site manager and a concierge service an email away. Very bright and cheerful, right on the ocean and well appointed. Note there are floating devices and snorkel equipment under the bathroom sink! Very comfortable bed. Walking distance to everything. Definitely a five star

Perfect place to stay

Akumal Lol Kaanab #5 stay

We've stayed in Akumal and Lol Kaanab many times. Lol Kaanab has a great location right in the middle of Half Moon Bay. It is convenient for snorkeling, diving, restaurants and other activities. The condo is very comfortable with great management on site and the daily maid service does a great job. If you want to relax away from the busy towns of Tulum or Play del Carmen and away from the cookie cutter all inclusives then Akumal is a great alternative to just chill out and relax. We'll be back soon.

Mexican Charm

We loved this charming little place. Very clean and quite. Everyone says “don’t go to Mexico, its not safe” . Mexico is just about the only place we vacation. We’ve never had any problems. We felt very safe here. This condo was just what we needed. The price was right. Our only problem was with Mother Nature. There was a lot of sea weed and the workers couldnt keep up with it. Overall we loved this place and will go back.

Nice place

The place was larger than expected. Loved having two separate rooms with two separate showers. Perfect for a family of 4. The beds were comfortable, slept great. The showers were nice, plenty of hot water. The only problem was that the TV was broken. For most people that won't be an issue, but I missed out watching the World Cup. Also the second bedroom opens to the entrance of the condos and is very bright. It could use darker curtains. Other than that everything worked as expected and we didn't have any issues. Check in was super easy and communication through Elio was always available. We had a great time and would definitely return.
