Penthouse Beachfront Condo with Pool & Panoramic Views

Perched on the fourth floor of Playa Caribe’s north tower, this penthouse condo offers an elevated Caribbean experience in the heart of Half Moon Bay. With two bedrooms and three ocean-facing terraces, it comfortably sleeps six guests while providing unmatched views and breezes.

The primary suite features a king bed, ensuite bath, and private balcony. The guest suite has two double beds and its own bath, ideal for couples or children. Both bedrooms are cooled by central AC, while large sliding glass doors invite in the ocean air. A spacious living and dining area flows to an oceanfront terrace, while the modern kitchen—with breakfast bar—makes mealtime effortless.

Guests enjoy daily housekeeping, concierge support, and thoughtful details such as purified water, a welcome basket, and beach towels. Shared amenities include a beachfront swimming pool, BBQ grill, loungers, and outdoor shower, all framed by hanging gardens and sandy shore.

The condo is located on the fourth floor with no elevator access. Beaches here are sandy but mixed with coral—water shoes are recommended. Playa Caribe is one of Akumal’s original beachfront properties, loved for its attentive service and prime location. Daily housekeeping service is provided. Parking, beach towels, and purified water are provided.

KINDLY NOTE: South winds may bring Sargasso Seaweed to some beaches throughout the Caribbean, including the Rivera Maya. While the situation is hard to predict for each specific week and area, we would like you to be aware as there is the potential to impact the beach and water entry.

We have a great list of activities and adventures completely unaffected by the arrival of sargasso that we would love to share with you. Beautiful views & accomodations!

Paradise!

Clean, safe property, great location! We will definitely stay here again! The daily maid service was a treat! Conveniently located to fantastic restaurants and bars. The italian restaurant downtown by the arches was our best meal by far!

A gem of a place. Great snorkeling with coral reef. Great for swimming. Buena vida restaurant next door was awsome! Little convenient store in front was a life saver. Will will be back!!!!

This property was fantastic. Great view from the balcony! Our family of 4 were very comfortable in the condo for 10 days! Take water shoes, it is very rocky when walking into the ocean! Highly recommend this property!

It was a good stay

Visited mid February and had a good stay. Condo was in great condition, daily housekeeping was helpful, AC worked well. Fourth floor location was quiet. Always found chairs on the beach, although pending the tide and amount of sargassum, the stretch of sand in front of the complex was thin. Definitely recommend water shoes for gettin in the water if front of complex. Good walking distance to restaurants. Convenient, small market across the street for snacks and ice cream.

Akumal adventure

What an amazing vacation. The condo has beautiful views, many balconies, an is well stocked with basics without being cluttered. It is about a mile to town for shopping, the Akumal general store has groceries, and the condo complex (14units) has bikes to rent and will help to plan adventures around Akumal if wanted

Amazing Location with Beautiful Views

Everything about this vacation was perfect. The condo was very well done and the view was perfect. Super great neighborhood with walking distance to a fantastic restaurant. It is a 4 floor walk up, so be prepared if you are not used to that. But the onsite manager carried up and down all of our giant suitcases. We will be back, for sure!

Lovely Views

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at Playa Caribe! The view from our unit was amazing! The kids appreciated the pool as well as the beach! We ate at local restaurants that were recommended by Plaza Caribe and they were excellent! (La Buena Vida, Lol Ha, and La Taverna). Our family also visited the Monkey Sanctuary, the Tulum Ruins, and 4 Cenotes; all of which were outstanding activities! The only downside of our visit were the 2 power outages we experienced and couldn't find a flashlight in our unit. I suggest you add flashlights for future guests. In addition, we could have used a small broom for the sand. Overall, we would definitely recommend Playa Caribe and would anticipate staying here again! Thank you for everything!

The condo was fully equipped with everything needed for a family to stay for many days and enjoy home cooking when it is wanted. The beach is rocky so take water shoes so you can walk into the ocean. Playa Caribe is close to many restaurants. Highly Recommend!!

Family Vacation

We usually stay at all inclusive resorts for the convenience when we are with our kids but we wanted to try something new so we could do more adventures. This condo was perfect! It is spacious, clean, the kitchen is well stocked with everything you need, and the view is unbelievable. There were great restaurant options that everyone in our family enjoyed. We will definitely be back when the Sargasso season is over to enjoy the beachfront.

Lovely beach condo in Half Moon Bsyay. It was very comfortable and well maintained.

The condo has a stunning view of Half Moon Bay. Unfortunately the seaweed came in during the middle of our stay making the water and beach very unpleasant. The condo is on the top floor and there is no elevator. There are 66 steps to climb. There are no bathrooms at the pool or beach. The staff was amazing. The condo was well decorated and the beds were very comfortable. The pool was not heated and the filtration was not working. The beach is a coral beach so bring your reef shoes.

Overall, I recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: We appreciated the location on quiet Half Moon Bay, the pool and beach lounge chairs, gracious staff and very well equipped kitchen. This was the nicest vacation rental we've experienced anywhere. In the future we would bring more pesos for tips, bike rentals and restaurants that take cash only. The ATM's nearby don't work. If you can stop for groceries at the Chedraui supermarket on the way from the airport, a car is not necessary in Akumal, the airport transfer booked thru Akumal Direct worked very well. We enjoyed visiting the ruins in Tulum (requires a car or driver), walking or biking to the Akumal Bay beach and nearby restaurants, especially Imelda's Ecococina.

This condo was beautiful with a clean boho vibe. Augustin at the front desk was super helpful with local information, bike and golf cart rental and booking a turtle tour with a guide that took just my family of four out. The area felt super safe and we were comfortable walking to some local restaurants and shops. We ate at Buena Vida and Jungle Cafe several times each and both were delicious. Each was about a Three minute walk away. We snorkled right off the beach and saw a huge variety of fish. The was some seaweed but it didn’t ruin it. We took the golf cart to Yal-Ku and saw even more fish. We rode it to the other end and ate at La Cueva del Pescador. This meal was also delicious and best bang for your buck! Just over $50 for four lunches, guac, two sodas, a beer and a margarita. My very favorite part though was the balcony overlooking the Caribbean! The property is so close to the water line that the sea is right there with the breeze and sound of the waves. We started and ended every day in the most relaxing spot. We even watched sting rays swimming past. If you are not sure about booking I’d say go for it and use the concierge service to book your transfer to and from the airport.

Overall, I recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: We have stayed on Half Moon Bay over 20 times over the years. The Playa Caribe is a nice spot and a nice building. We do not think that the pool was getting proper filtration and could not detect the pump ever operating during the 13 days of our trip. We brought this up to the host and he said that a person came first thing in the morning and ran the pump and cleaned the pool but we found that not to be the case. Unfortunately, the seaweed/sargasso problem is not going away. This is the worst we have ever seen it and nothing was being done by Playa Caribe despite several other properties at least making an effort to remove. This made the beach unbearable and the pool area unpleasant due to the sargasso smell. We were able to enter the bay at the far north and snorkel over five times. We saw the most sealife ever! Even though the weather wasn't the greatest we made the most of it and enjoyed our stay. A more efficient seaweed removal process needs to be put in place coordinated by all property groups to improve the experience since the seaweed is here to stay, it appears. Word is that a barrier is being installed soon across the bay. Even if this is somewhat successful, seaweed removal will be necessary. Thank you!

First time in Yucatán.

Overall, I recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: The condo was great. Had everything we expected and more. It was close to Buena Vida restaurant for dinner out. The kitchen had all we needed for those days we decided to eat in. Which is great when traveling with young kids, we eat in more than out. The view was breathing taking. From the moment we stepped of the airplane, the people were friendly, helpful, and wonderful. I was really worried because we had some delays and were not going to arrive to the condo by 5 pm. I tried calling all the numbers I had but was only able to leave messages. I was really worried, but the staff at the condo left a note on the door with instructions and where our room key was located. During our stay the staff was great. Always willing to help and answers questions. The only thing reason I gave a four stars, was the need of an elevator. Our room was top floor but no elevator, but that was an oversight on our part. Had we known before we probably would not have rented the room. One recommendation I would make, assigning a golf cart to each room would be great. The condos are located almost in the middle of the hotel area, about 20-25 minutes walking distance to the lagoon (north of us) and the beach town (south). The walk in either direction is okay in the morning but by the afternoon it was difficult. The site has some carts but they need to be reserved days before. We used a great deal of taxis but after a while the cost adds up. Overall, the stay was amazing. Would definitely recommend the rental but will warn about the no elevator and walking.
