Quiet, spacious, secluded hideaway for the entire family (and then some).

The house is a large, welcoming, two story, ten bedroom, 13 bath home secluded on 8 manicured acres of lawn, trees and rose bushes. Nine of the bedrooms have one queen bed, the tenth has a queen and two twins. Two of the rooms have a private front and back entrance. Each bedroom has a spacious private bath with a jetted tub. On the second floor there is a media room, great for watching family movies. The front of the house has a veranda with rocking chairs. The back of the house has a large covered patio with tables and chairs, a large lawn and a pergola. For cooking there is a commercial kitchen as well as a giant smoker near the barn away from the house. The dining room has two large table that can each seat 6 and room for additional tables if needed. The living room has a comfortable couch and chairs and a large, flat screen television. Between the living room and the dining room is a gas fireplace for those cool nights. The laundry room has two washers and two dryers.

perfect for our family size

This was a wonderful experience for our large family. The right amount of bedrooms and bathrooms, the outside porch and yard was great. The host were very accommodating.

Great hosts, Large house

This was a super great house for our family. Had 9 full bedrooms and bathrooms, which was plenty for our large size. Hosts were very kind! They showed us around when we got there and then left us alone to enjoy the place.

Amazing Place

We decided to do our family reunion at this house and you never know what to expect but this house was a great place for us it had everything we needed especially for the meals the kitchen was great. The bedrooms were great and the kids all liked the movie room. The place was very clean and the owners even met with us before the stay and went over everything about the house. We would definitely come back and stay here again.

Perfect for our needs

Had a great time. Kitchen was big enough for our feasts. Large covered back deck area and open yard gave the kids room to play. Theater upstairs was a real treat. Note some rooms have tubs but no showers and hot water was extremely hot so need to be careful

Beautiful grounds

Enjoyed our stay. Layout of home and grounds are great. There is a washer and dryer but for those staying several days more towels wood be great. Also it might be a good idea to put on the site that owners live on site and a possibility they will be at the home during your stay. They are very friendly and kind but good to know in advance. We would consider renting again.

Sherry, thank you for choosing to stay at the Abbe House Inn. Thank you also for your feedback. We will consider putting out extra towels for extended stays. As far as owners being on site during the stay, we do live on site as this is also a traditional bed and breakfast as well as a VRBO. We try to make a point of not being on site during a guest's stay and were only on site during your visit as we allowed you to arrive a day early. We then left the next morning before breakfast and did not return until after your departure. We felt this would make for an easy transition and allow you to maximize your time at the Abbe House. We hope to see you again in the future.

Great Christmas!

Finding a place large enough for a big family Christmas get-together is a challenge. This place worked out great for us. Two large tables so we could all eat together. Each bedroom having its own bathroom was a big help. Kitchen could use a second refrigerator. Owners were very helpful and friendly. Great space outside for kids to play.

Large house snd property

With 17 people in our family group, we had enough space to play in multiple areas inside and out. Especially loved the large covered patio area on back of house--perfect for hot or rainy days. The kitchen crews loved the big kitchen with commercial range. The hosts were extremely hospitable and even invited us to come early since the house was ready. We plan to go back for our next family reunion. The house could use some updates but that is nothing that impeded our wonderful time there. Not all of the bathrooms have showers but we worked around it; again it was noyhing that stopped our fun.

This inn was beautiful on the inside and on the outside. We had 20 people and everyone enjoyed it. There were no complaints at all. The owners were very gracious and helpful. We would indeed go again if we had the opportunity.

This was best Vrbo rental we have had in 15 years of experience

Property owners very responsive. We were 18 people total with 10 bedrooms and loved being able to both spread out but also come together in this space. Best kitchen experience ever, first time ever we didn’t bring our own equipment. Fridge freezer and stove EXCELLENT. Knives and cookware excellent, we had a great time cooking. Ice machine kept us in drinks and excursion coolers. Fridge and freezer space was awesome. Patio and porch space was great. Loved grill and fire pit. Plenty of seating for family of 20. We saw fawns playing in the back yard two days and kids loved it. Lake is 10 minutes drive, river float/fish is 5 minutes drive. Eat at Mack’s Fish House, Jitterbug Coffee, El Rey…Smokehouse not good. Kids loved movie room and so did adults.

Wonderful Family Christmas

As a grandma (and now a Great Grandma), I have long dreamed of hosting Christmas morning with all of its chaos and fun and business but have far too little space for my whole family to stay. We rented this house for our Family Christmas gathering and were all able to stay in one place. We had the whole house and there was plenty of room for everyone. There are a few issues that need attention or minor repair, (worn or dirty carpets, loose tiles, etc.) but this is an older house, and the owners are fairly new to it, so I'm sure they are working on these issues as they can. Otherwise, we were comfortable and felt at home. We were allowed to add decorations to give it our own flare and make it feel like our own for a few days. Our sincere thanks go out to these precious people who welcomed us so warmly and made this 'Family Christmas at Mimi's' possible!

Great Thanksgiving

Place was wonderful for our whole family to meet for Thanksgiving. Everybody had their own room & bathroom. Huge kitchen to cook thanksgiving. Owners were great.

Great property

This property is great and the owners are fantastic to work with! Abbe House is ran as a B&B on a regular basis; this is the first time they had rented the entire house and things went smoothly. The location is not exactly as described. It is located in a neighborhood and that was not expected at all. The house does sit off the road and is secluded but not at all what we are expecting. The kids really enjoyed the media room!!! 😊 The patio and backyard with the pergola is extremely nice! We all enjoyed it besides the "pokey grass" as the kids called it. The yard is full of sand burs, the kids couldn't run around barefoot and that was a bummer. The patio is equipped with a grill, flat top, and propane fire pit (which was awesome on the cool nights)!!! The kitchen is well equipped with all of the utensils and equipment you could possibly need. The kitchen floors were dirty (we mopped them the first morning we were there) but that is literally the only complaint. The rest of the house is very clean and well taken care of. We enjoyed our stay!!
