As a new owner of a vacation rental property the experiences of my customers are appreciated. It is my goal to provide a high quality vacation venue for families and friends. It is correct that there was a miscommunication between me and housekeeping regarding the King sheets that resulted in sheets being laundered to be put back on the bed. Additional sheets have been purchased to prevent that issue again. Given that, posted check-in time is 4:00pm. Your arrival time was approximately 3:00pm when the cleaners were still on site and working. I have a text verifying this at 3:08 pm regarding the sheet issue. The housekeeper would have made the beds but said that you were fine to do it when the dryer finished in exchange for her leaving and you accessing the house. The Cranberry Retreat (TCR) is not on the main lake area of Lake Gaston but is located on Jimmies Creek. The boat dock and inability for renters to use the lift was explained in advance to all renters and a full refund for cancellation was offered if this was deemed unacceptable. You never responded to this communication, nor communicated any issue during your stay. Pictures of the property are provided to accurately reflect what renters can expect and includes a picture which shows the TCR dock and neighbors’ dock. There are small translucent leaches that have been observed in the areas around Jimmie Creek; water shoes are recommended. This will be communicated to future guests. I called you at your request, post stay, to discuss the condition of the house upon check out based on housekeeping feedback and my own observations. The “fingerprint issue” was specifically addressed to the 85” Theater TV with fingerprints and what appeared to be a face print, yet you are correct several windows were in similar condition. It was not expected to find this because the reservation was booked for 6 adults and 0 kids; however, you brought 6 kids. After your stay it took 6 hours to clean TCR when it typically takes 2 hours. It was not until I reached out to you with concerns about the state the house was left, that you verbalized and communicated any concerns posted in your review. Regardless of your opinion of me or TCR, this does not allow you / your party to trespass on the neighbors’ property. Information was specifically sent on this subject prior to check-in, yet without permission of the owner of the boat ramp, an individual drove their Tahoe down the neighbor’s driveway and used their boat ramp to load gear from the TCR dock. While it is disappointing that details in your review are not fully accurate, the VRBO listing and House Rules will be updated and tailored so that guests know what to expect and what is expected at The Cranberry Retreat so that they can fully enjoy their stay
