Wide open meadow view with ocean peeks through the trees.

Unit 117. Lupine House was designed by Don Jacobs with simple "Sea Ranch, Living Lightly on the Land" in mind.

All on one level, the kitchen, dining and living room are one open concept with a long window seat being the focal point. A bit of ocean peeks through some trees, but the main view from the house is a wide meadow view which, in the morning, is often populated by grazing deer. A sleeper sofa in the living room is an added sleeping space if needed.

And once the sun has set and it's time to tuck yourself in, a wood burning fireplace to relax by while enjoying a cozy movie night streaming from the owner provided Netflix app. Wifi is also provided throughout the house.

At twilight we are sometimes visited by a beautiful red fox or a big, burly raccoon. (Keep the deck door closed or racoons will come right in!) If it's clear at night, try star gazing from the hot tub. You've probably never seen so many stars and satellites!

The house has 2 bedrooms, each with a Queen size bed and 1.5 bathrooms.
Bed linens and towels are not provided, bring your own or rent them from Beach Rentals. No pets allowed.

Drones are strictly prohibited in The Sea Ranch.
Quiet hours must be observed between 9pm and 7am every day.
No outdoor amplified sound is allowed at any time day or night.
Maximum number of vehicles at house shall be 3 (three), parked in driveway. No RV's.
Maximum occupancy is 6 for this home.

Wonderful place!

Nice house, deer in the meadow every morning. Enjoyed going to sleep to the sounds of the ocean. We would stay there again. Had a great time.

Beautiful Older Sea Ranch Home

We had a great time at the Lupine house! With a two minute walk down to the beach or to the playground or to see the seals- this house is ideal! :)

Original Sea Ranch Vibe

The house is clean, convenient, and comfortable. It will not suit those with ostentatious tastes. It is a well-maintained example of the original Sea Ranch philosophy; thoughtfully designed, a little spartan, inexpensive materials used in a innovative way. It still feels truly mid-century modern.

Relaxing at Sea Ranch

This property is more of a budget option for the area, but a good one. The bones are wonderful, the decor/ furniture does not entirely match the era of the development of the sea ranch which is a disappointment, but it is cozy and will provide all that one might need. The space was clean and overall a great place for a family vacation.

Unfortunately it needs a refresh badly — the window seat, couch, and master bed are long past their lifespans. With some updates, we hope to keep staying here for years to come!

Great Location - Mediocre Accommodation

Overall, I do not recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: On the positive side, Lupine is an easy walk to the Sea Ranch Ocean trail. It has a great picture window view of a meadow and some blue water in the distance. Beach Rental outfitted the house generously with essentials. The hot tub is well situated and easy to access. On the negative side, the house is tiny; there is no pantry. It's a one-and-a-half-person kitchen, at best. It has not been updated, I suspect, ever. Liquid dripped on our heads from the leaking transom over the toilet in the front bedroom. The beds were mushy and lumpy. To watch TV, we had to pivot the old and heavy hide-a-way bed couch ninety degrees. We rented this house at the last minute because there were not a lot of choices. The internet went out several times a day; it was pokey at best, challenging to work here. Bottom line, if you don't mind dingy, this home is for you. I recommend The Vue restaurant in Gualala for fresh California cuisine. I would not rent this home again.
