The best of Sea Ranch

Overall, I recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: We have stayed at other Sea Ranch homes in the past, and this stay was by far the best yet. Stellar View is sophisticated and modern yet incredibly cozy and comfortable. Everything you need is in this home and everything is immaculately clean and functional. We were able to walk to hiking trails from Stellar View also, and there is plenty to explore nearby. After a day of exploring, it was an absolute pleasure to return and watch the amazing sunset and gaze at the water from the deck of this beautiful home. We will stay here again and again knowing that the hosts have made everything comfortable, perfectly appointed, convenient, and absolutely perfect - directions were easy to follow, and tips for what to do and where to go were very helpful. Thank you for a wonderful and restorative get-away!

Glorious Sea Ranch getaway

The downstairs bedrooms and entertainment area have the cozy feel of a family vacation home and the upstairs - wow! The open floor plan, with access to decks on all sides, makes you feel like you're living in a tree house. There are gorgeous sunsets over the ocean, the sound of crashing waves, and on the inside: an amazing kitchen, charming fireplace, and plenty of areas for playing games, cooking together, or having drinks. Arriving was effortless, with great communication all around, and the owners have thought of everything, making it incredibly easy to access music, movies, the internet, etc. Most of all - you get to be at Sea Ranch! We had amazing experiences with tidepools at the nearby coast, hiking in the redwoods two minutes from the house, and gazing at the stunning starry skies right outside our door. On Friday evening I walked to the nearest watering hole, a wine bar about 10 minutes away, and even heard some wonderful live music! This place is a lovely jumping off point for exploring this magical stretch of the Sonoma Coast.

Truly Stellar Home

It’s appointed in the most beautiful, thoughtful, and comfortable ways, and was spotless upon our arrival.The 2nd floor space is so cool because there are open kitchen, dining, and living areas and decks off of each. You get ocean and forest views all around. In the evenings before bed, we had so much fun playing the many, many games there were to choose from.The 1st floor is quite large. Both bedrooms are lovely. The bed was so comfortable, with cozy sheets and blankets, and we slept so well with the peace and quiet. We enjoyed a movie night in the 1st floor family room one night.We really appreciated the house being a dog-friendly rental. Especially because Sea Ranch is such an outdoorsy dog-friendly place. We took many hikes on the trails, cliffs, and beaches nearby.The house location was very easy to find and access, closer to the south end of Sea Ranch. It was very convenient to visit the Lodge, the Chapel, and the town of Gualala. We especially liked Twofish Baking and the Seafood Shack.It was just the two of us for a couples weekend, but we would love to come back with another couple or small group of friends. The house has plenty of space for people to be comfortable, enjoy a group dinner, grill on the deck, and play games.

Nicer than where we live!

Reviewer Comments: We’ve stayed at nearly a dozen properties in the Sea Ranch area, and this was by far the best.The instructions for getting into the house were very clear. And from the moment we arrived inside, all three of us felt instantly at home. The owners clearly put a lot of care into creating a fresh and inviting living space bent on comfort and relaxation, down to thoughtful touches like living plants in every room, a telescope and binoculars for spotting sea life, and a rock n’ roll theme with some great show posters. We prefer the east side location up the hill from Hwy 1 because it’s quiet and more private than the meadow/oceanside places we’ve stayed. Great wildlife spotting, too – deer, turkeys, and an eagle.The property is tech-savvy, with QR codes throughout the house to easily connect to reliable fiber WiFi, and there are smart speakers for guests to use.We took advantage of all of the amenities: fireplace, downstairs TV (karaoke party!), deck grill (both nights), and a gorgeous modern kitchen stocked with spices, oil, tea, coffee and everything you need to put a meal on the table. There are lots of cushy places to sit, a spacious kitchen table, decks galore — and a reading nook! Also, books and games (Golden Girls Clue, anyone?), plenty to watch, and a helpful welcome handbook to guide you through the house and nearby businesses.There’s no hot tub here, and while we love a soak, we didn’t actually miss it. Some minor drawbacks but not dealbreakers: The showers are a bit dated (but stocked with shampoo, conditioner, body wash. Good water pressure). For a property with a wine fridge (!) it would be nice to have more stemmed glasses and maybe a decanter. Ditto a few more large pans and platters for cooking and entertaining for a gathering. Nice to have, but not a real issue.We will absolutely stay here again. Already dreaming of our next visit!
