The Ziehr apartment is the unit located on the left side of the building as you are facing it. It is within one mile of Downtown Eau Claire's shops, restaurants, and bars. It's also a 10 minute drive to the music festival grounds (Eaux Claires, Blue Ox, Country Jam) and a 5 minute drive to the University of Wisconsin-Eau Claire. This newly remodeled home is full of character and amenities including a private patio & dedicated concrete pad with grill.
This property has a long history and we were determined to keep that history while updating towards a more modern, welcoming look. Constructed in 1881 during the waning years of logging in Eau Claire, the house features a gable front and wing façade and wood frame, characteristic of Folk Victorian architecture. The house maintains its original wood siding and windows, as well as its original decorative porch.
With updated amenities guests will feel right at home. During the summer guests can enjoy a beautiful patio and short walks to local parks.
We came to EC for our daughterâs graduation from UWEC. The house is exactly as advertised and the location was perfect- easy to get to campus and downtown. Both walkable. Will definitely be staying here again.
Absolutely lovely home. Enjoyed all the details. Very charming decor. Super clean. Great location - within walking distance of everything we wanted to do. Highly recommend.
Overall great, however bathrooms are all upstairs which was a bit difficult for one person in our party due to joint issues. We will definitely stay again if ever back in Eau Claire. By far one of the best stays I have had in a long time!
The home is comfortable and welcoming! Plenty of room for 7 adults. But both bathrooms are upstairs, and there are stairs both front and back, to get in. If anyone has mobility problems, be aware.
The kitchen has a coffee pot for regular drip use, but also a Keurig feature. Nice dining table for eating and playing games.
Just a few blocks to downtown shops and restaurants. Really enjoyed our stay!
The house is convenient to downtown and is situated on a mature, quiet residential street with parking always available immediately in front. The interior is comfortable, pleasantly decorated, and the kitchen and bathrooms are very well equipped. In spite of well functioning Wi-Fi and tv systems, this is still a 140 year old house, with its character showing mostly on the exterior. Some minor mechanical problems were reported to the owner who responded immediately and had them quickly repaired. The sole downside to the house was an uncomfortably small shower stall in one of the bathrooms. Net: well recommended as a comfortable and convenient place to stay!
From the minute we walked in we were more than thrilled. All of the character of an old home (with original features extraordinarily restored and maintained) with modern updates and comfort (appliances, beds, bathrooms, etc.) And not all the little separate rooms you see in a lot of older homes but very spacious. We stayed four nights over the weekend of our daughter's wedding that was held in town. The home became a part of our overall wedding experience and not just a place to stay. Time spent at the house making last minute arrangements and plans as well as special time preparing (bride/bridesmaid's hair, makeup and dressing along with pictures) has provided many great memories. It also provided a nice relaxing place to catch our breath and relax after all the excitement was over. We are already looking for another opportunity to stay at this great historic home. THANKS!
this updated historic property was perfect for the wedding we attended in a nearby park, parking available and we were able to get the property code before traveling when requested.
Beautifully restored historical home close to the UWEC campus was perfect for exploring the area with friends. The property and amenities met our expectations and was as advertised.
We had a wonderful time in Eau Claire. Enjoyed staying at this beautiful old home, well appointed with everything we needed and more. Located perfectly in town near parks and bike trails.
Would highly recommend 5 stars +
Extra sleeping/living space that family did not have during graduation time.
Wonderful accommodations! Just what we needed. Quiet neighborhood, comfortable inside and out, playground 2 blocks away, great kitchen with everything a cook would need. Slight musty odor when you first walk in (guessing due to age of house), but not noticeable once you are in. One suggestion would be to provide an extra chair or two in the living room area. There is enough sleeping room for 6+ persons (we only had 4), but sitting are only for 4 max. Loved our stay!
