Gorgeous views from a gorgeous cabin! This is an adorably authentic, rustic cabin with all the modern conveniences. Relaxing on the back porch was just what these girls needed! The host was wonderful in taking care of every need, even one that popped up unexpectedly! ;-)

We came to celebrate our 9-year wedding anniversary, and everything was absolutely perfect! Cottonwood has easily become our new paradise — truly a home away from home. We’ve already started planning our return trip because we’ve enjoyed every single second here. From the breathtaking views to the peaceful relaxation, this has been the time together we so desperately needed. We’re not ready to leave and know we’ll be homesick for Cottonwood the moment we do. Until we meet again!

Such a wonderful place to stay and enjoy so many things! The tin roof, the view of the valley, the train passing by at least 3 times a day. The quietness of nature and the sounds it brings. The porch is my favorite part of the house. This wonderful place has everything you need and specious! Beds are very comfortable. It is just a fantastic place.

Our favorite place in the area to stay

We've been here a few times now and we'd come back every summer and Christmas if we could. Clean, well stocked, incredible views, style and charm by the boatload. Perfect place to relax and enjoy Lookout!

Pictures don't do it justice. The perfect mountain retreat

Came to visit family who didn't have space for us and am quite familiar with the area. This space is absolutely gorgeous and we loved it so much we are coming back every time we need to. The views are gorgeous, so many great amenities, and perfect location in the middle between Fort Payne and downtown Mentone. Hike, go to the river or lakes or waterfalls, hibernate, cook out, enjoy a glass of wine in the hammock at sunset,.play games, bicycle the rolling hills - you can do it all here!

Anniversary Getaway

We were looking for a relaxing getaway to celebrate our 19th wedding anniversary. This place was wonderful. The cabin is a great mix of old style with modern touches throughout. The outdoor space in the back is just awesome. The view is amazing. We had a great time here and hope to come back soon.

Perfect Mountain Getaway

Our experience with this property was simply outstanding. Gorgeous view from the brow of the mountain, location was very close to everything we were looking to do on our vacation while providing a peaceful escape from the hustle and bustle. The cabin was very clean and well maintained. I highly recommend this to anyone looking for a full cabin, mountain getaway. Couples and families will surely find this property to be ideal for a relaxing escape from the day to day stresses of the world. We will definitely be renting this cabin again simply because the check in/out process was a breeze and the cabin is perfectly located for everything we wanted to do on our vacation. 10 out of 10 for sure.

There are treasures in every corner!

It's the cabin you expect in Mentone with hidden modern twists. New updated fixtures, touch light switches, night lights that come on when you walk into the bathrooms, upgraded appliances, great ceiling fans, fantastic TV''s, and a gas fireplace. That covers most of the modern; the cabin feel is everywhere. Just when you think you've seen all the little treasures throughout the cabin you find a new one. Furniture is comfy, beds are comfy, and the swing in the main bedroom is heaven. I loved all the decks, just didn't know which one to use first. Spent hours sitting outside looking at the incredible views. We all loved everything about Cottonwood Cabin. Thank you so much for sharing it with us.

Wonderful cabin for a restful retreat

We loved staying at this cabin. It was peaceful and had all of the amenities we needed. The view was beautiful and the cabin is not far from Mentone and DeSoto State Park. We did not get to use the fire pit as the area is in a drought and it was very windy, but that area is very cozy. The only thing I would mention is that the master bathroom only has a tub, but the upstairs bathroom does have a shower. The space in between the floor boards in the loft threw my vertigo off a little since you could see the light from the room below, but everything else was wonderful and we would stay again.

Great stay

We had a wonderful stay. The house exceeded expectations from the listing. We will definitely be looking to schedule another trip to stay here and enjoy Mentone and all the surrounding trails and falls.
