This rental, part of the gated Villa Sol Resort & Spa, is a short walk from the golden sands of Playa Hermosa, as well as a variety of bars, restaurants, and a convenient mini market. Guests can also enjoy access to on-site restaurants, Ping-Pong, foosball, a large shared pool, and a resort spa. The complimentary resort shuttle can transport you to the pool, the beach, and several local restaurants, so you'll never have to walk. If you do, you'll be less than a mile from a variety of eateries, shops, bars, and recreational outfitters in the town center. If you're looking for a change of scenery, you'll also be just two miles south of Playa Panama's calm waters, four miles north of Playas del Coco, and 45 miles south of Santa Rosa National Park (a known nesting spot for several species of sea turtles).

Overall Nice

This place is overall a good stay. Could use some updating and a net for the pool would make sense. Pool was dirty and we couldn’t use it at first which was frustrating. Our neighbors let us borrow their net. Someone came by to clean it a couple days after we asked. was very nice Not really much info given upon check in…4 stars for location and ac worked very well.

Great place, secure, close to the beach, roomy villa, got to use the resort pool and restaurant. The internet not working, following their procedures to contact them, text them 3 times nobody responded. We had to use the resort pool wifi. We had purchased local provider for our phones, didn’t work.

Clean but not fancy.

The place was very clean, and Vacasa staff (on-site property manager) were responsive. The interior furniture is tired and the property could generally use a refresh. Beds and pillows are of low quality. In terms of luxury, I would rate this as "3 Stars out of 5" for those reasons. The advertised laundry facilities were not available during our stay, and we had no advance notice of this problem. The shuttle service to the beach was irregular and undependable. When there WAS a shuttle there, it worked fine. Do not bother with the on-site restaurant options. We ate one meal at the main restaurant on our first night, and it was a Buffet only. The "hot" food was lukewarm, and not very appetizing. The wait staff did not speak English. We also tried the CondoVac pizza restaurant near the main gate, and it was TERRIBLE! They even used canned mushroom to top the pizza. I wish that somebody had warned us in advance, as we would never have wasted the money. There are several excellent private restaurants nearby, and they were all a much better bet. "Ginger" was so good, we went twice that week. The plunge pool was nice and we appreciated it. The location of the villa is very close to the beach and only a short walk to stores, restaurants, and other services. The beaches were beautiful, and the weather was fantastic. We did several day trips and they were all wonderful. Overall, we had a very nice holiday.

This house is tired and needs work - would not recommend

There were multiple issues. First, the listing says to tell Kevin when we’ll arrive. We tried via phone and text multiple times with no response, but when we got there we found that we just checked in at the main desk. So there was no need to contact him at all. When we arrived at the house, we found the bedspreads to be stained in multiple places, which made us question the cleanliness of the sheets, towels, etc. We called and msg Kevin but he didn’t reply. The pillows were the flattest pillows I’ve ever seen. We ended up putting 2 pillows in one t-shirt to keep them together and ensure that our faces were on something clean. The walls beside the beds were filthy. Called Vacasa. Sent someone the next day w pillows. Then the next day, they brought 1 bedspread and tried to wash the walls. The light/ceiling fan in the main bedroom would flash several times every 3 min or so. The toilet in the main bathroom would not shut off and moved when you sat on it. The internet network was not the one listed on the sign in the house. We were able to get on a different network but it was not locked, which made us uneasy. The floor lamp in the living room was broken and would not stand upright. The upholstery on the kitchen chairs was filthy. The internet went out completely. Emailed Vacasa. Sent someone the next day after I emailed again. Not able to fix it so gave us password for neighbor’s network. Overall, house needs attn (repairs/cleaning) and Vacasa needs to respond more quickly.

Pretty good for what it was. No hot water was a bummer though.

So I booked this property for my sons 10th birthday celebration trip to Costa Rica. The property was exactly as listed however there were a few hiccups I feel that need to be said. The first had been our check in process. We were at the security gate trying to check in and our names were not on the list. We then had to wait in the car for almost an hour while the security guard had to call Vacasa (the property management company who owns this property) and wait for the gaurd to recieve an email clearing us as the weeks renters. After we got cleared we went to front desk and got the keys. The property was just like the pictures and in a decently centrally located area in Villa Sol. Inside there was a few other hiccups one major one being was absolutely no hot water at all. Being from ME and trying to take a shower in the evening left me shivering badly. The next morning I called the contact you call during the stay, told them about the water and they had maintenance come check it out. Maintenance turned the water pressure up but still resulted in no hot water. It did not get better the entire length of the stay. :( Another little thing to note is the beds are fairly hard but do the jobs. The rooms are small and fairly cramped with the dressers in there. Also when you sit in the hammock you may hit your butt against the bench underneath hammock. Other then those issues it was a pleasant stay. We had the neighborhood cats come visit our back deck, and racoons tried getting into our trash several times. But overall the place was clean, working applicances, no rust on shower caddys or in other places in villa. The location is very close to the main pool and the whirlpool. The price was decent for what you got and the concierge was helpful. The shuttle to the beach was nice espessically in the humid heat. If you get the chance walk down to Ginger and eat there as it was amazing! Order everything! Some of the places listed in the villa guide book are no longer in business, so do some reasearch yourself on places around. Also most places in Coco can deliver to the vila you just gotta meet them at the gaurd gate. All in all the villa worked for its purpose for this trip just majorly wish there had been hot water. The 3 bedrooms were much appreciated with me, my friend, and my son having our own space. Also if you get a chance to go to Diamante Adventure Park do it!

Charming villa

We enjoyed out stay in Villa Sol so much. It is located perfectly to enjoy the many activities in the area. The check-in process was super easy and we felt very well taken care of. The resort has many options for fun, and we didn't realize how close it is to the beach. There is free transportation to any of the amenities. It was so great to go to the beach and have a ride to return directly to our door. Kevin was very responsive and helped us a book an ATV tour which we enjoyed very much. There are many restaurant options not far at all. The villa itself was big enough for our family of 5. We all slept comfortably and the kitchen has everything you need for simple meals. The small pool in the villa was a highlight for my kids. It was super relaxing to go out in the mornings and lay on the hammock admiring the beautiful view.

Great for a short stay!

Great location, has all the basics. Vacasa Manager was AMAZING, any time we needed something he was on it immediately. We even got locked out once and he had someone over in like 20 minutes and on a weekend. Best customer service ever. We stayed 19 days, which was a bit too long in this space. It’s great for a long weekend or week but it’s small and the pillows were so thin- only one pillow per person- that I went to Walmart to buy $5 pillows to be able to sleep. The beds are hard. We bought cheap knives that we left there since the knives were very dull. No wine opener, no basics like oil or herbs to cook with, just FYI. Very basic but good for what you need. The pool was a nice plunge pool when it was so hot and muggy. Totally safe and great with friendly people who worked there and who were staying there. Villa Sol was good for cheap drinks. We did not try the food but we were told to stay away by the people who were there for the all inclusive. The trucks to and from the beach were great and easy and always around. The food on the beach was great. Best place to eat was Mar Azul in Coco Beach and Hacienda Blu. If they replaced their pillows and added egg crate foam onto their mattresses, it would be much more comfortable for longer stays.

La plage, la petite piscine privée, les navettes, la maison était agréable et les voisins calmes. Our stay was good at my playa del sol. The apartment lacked some practical things such as dish towels, washing rags, sharp knives, scissors and a wine opener. The swimming pool at the top was really too noisy for us with the animation, but the beach was very beautiful. We would have liked to be able to use our golf kart on site instead of the shuttles for more freedom. on the other hand, the shuttles were well organized and passed often. We liked the apartment and the small swimming pool. the people were welcoming.

Many benefits staying at villa sol 35

Villa sol 35 provides a sheltered patio with small private pool for quiet soaking. It also provides access to large shared pool with bar for socializing, exerc I sing and lounging. The shuttles is very quick and gives you access to beach, pools and restaurants.

Upon arriving, there was no ice, no hot water, and the property manager was unresponsive to our requests. Good location - walking distance to the beach. Overall was a nice place to stay, but there wasn’t much help throughout the stay.

Really pleasant stay!

We stayed at Villa Sol Unit 35 for a week. We had a wonderful, relaxing time there. The apartment was clean and comfortable, and we loved that the unit had a small private pool that we could use to cool off or play in even when raining. We appreciated the easy and convenient shuttle to the beach. I look forward to going back!
