Time to make a trip to the other side of the Lake. No mask required! Have a fine dining experience at Terrace Room, Bentwood Tavern, Brewsters or more casually at Stray Dog or Red Arrow Roadhouse. Ride a bike or walk the Lake Michigan ShoreLine. It is a 65-75 minute drive to get back to civilaization. Walk to the corner for a casual lunch or dinner at Union Pier Social or stroll around the corner to The Pumpernickle Inn for Gelato or The Black Currant Bakery for freash bakery & espressos. The Township has changed the automobile traffic flow down to one lane each direction and has added a new biclyle path and walking path that will eventually extend all the way to New Buffalo. Check out all ofthe new breweries that have opened: The Ghost Isle Brewery, The Beer Church, Seedz and many more. Spend an afternoon picking peaches or apple picking season is just around the corner. New Construction, two story beach house located on Lake Shore Road and Goodwin. Very convenient to Miller Beach Access or if you prefer Mc Kinley Street Beach Access is only a few more yards in the opposite direction. The Ayres Beach House is compact, but efficient. This beach house has four bedrooms and four bathrooms. Two bedrooms have their own private bath and shower. One bathroom is on the first floor and doubles as the mudroom bathroom, guest bathroom and hallway bathroom. The master bedroom and master bathroom are also located on the first floor. The second floor has three bedrooms and two bathrooms, one is en-suite. The bunk bed room has a queen over queen bunk bed suitable for a couple and a couple of kids. Three of the bedrooms have queen size beds and the kids bedroom has a queen over queen bunk bed. There is an outdoor Weber Genesis II natural gas grill. The kitchen is fully stocked. We have a beautiful front porch with two ceiling fans, plenty of breeze to discourage any small uninvited guests such as flies or mosquitos. We are conveniently located between two beach access. To the North, slightly closer is the Miller Beach Access and just to the South is the Mc Kinley Street Beach Access. Both beaches are beautiful and offer plenty of sand. The Township has just paved a new bike path on Red Arrow Highway and borders a new walking path along the same route. Why not check it out and maybe check a few of the new breweries in town. All you need to bring is suntan lotion. We provide beach towels, beach chairs, umbrellas and everything else under the sun. Martin Luther King Weekend in Jan and Presidents Weekend in Feb are minimum 3 night stay visits. thank you

No better place to stay in Union Pier! The property was very clean and John was a very responsive and accommodating host. The beach was a 3 minute walk from the front door and we loved being able to enjoy the tasty gelato that’s just down the road as well!

We stayed here for a long weekend and had a great experience! Nice home with a great outdoor area and only a 5 minute walk to the beach and the shops in Union Pier. The host was very responsive in answering any questions we had. Highly recommended!

Perfect location

The house is clean, comfortable, and the kitchen was well stocked. It was located just a short walk to the beach. Loved the house and especially the front porch! Fantastic location and clean, beautiful spaces. Open first floor kitchen and family room were perfect for family gatherings as was the large front porch. High ceilings and new fixtures in the kitchen and bathrooms gave the place a good feel. We also loved the fenced yard and quiet neighborhood. It was perfect for our extended family with small children. Walking distance from the beach and gelato shop were ideal. We will be back!! The hosts were responsive.

Beautiful, clean property- great stay!

We had a lovely visit at this property! Extremely clean and well kept. Everything you could need as far as dishes, towels, and even beach chairs/towels are there; hosts were clearly very intentional and thoughtful about the house and everything in it. One small beach is around the corner (3-5 min), larger beach about a 10 min walk. Beaches were clean and beautiful, soft sand. St Joesph is very drivable and was a fun town to explore. Hosts were very friendly and hospitable, we felt very welcome! This property is exactly as described, we highly recommend!

Cozy Family Getaway

This new home has both charm and modern sensibilities. Super close to easy beach access and good restaurants/bakery. Everything is a walk away and handpicked fruit produce within minutes by car allowing use of the kitchen and dining outside if you prefer to stay in with family while babies sleep and game night takes place. Slept 7 adults and 2 infant/children without use of couch as a bed.

Great Stay in Union Pier!

We had a great stay in Union Pier! The house was amazing - brand new with 4 bedrooms and 4 bathrooms and walkable to the beach and restaurants - and perfect for our group, which included my husband and myself, our two adult children and significant others, one baby and one dog. Also the location was perfect for us as it is close to midway between Chicago and Ann Arbor. Thank you, John, for being so communicative before and during the trip, and for giving us many restaurant suggestions. We will definitely be back!

Planned this stay a year out. Thank you John for letting us make wonderful memories at your fabulous beach house! You didn’t skip a beat, and we were so appreciative for all the fine touches. Property was clean and comfortable. John was kind enough to allow us to check in a bit early from our reservation. He helped us with dinner suggestions and when we needed to clarify WiFi and he responded immediately. Only change, needed top sheet on the bunk beds. Great get away for a girls night out.

great place to stay!

this was a great place for a long weekend for very comfortable bedrooms. Slept seven of our family members bathrooms were great showers were great large screen TV and we use the front porch every single day and late into the evenings. One of the best features of the house was the front porch for the family could sit and hang out. The owner was great to work with very quick to respond and takes good care of this property answered any questions we had right away and gave us some pointers on places to eat and things to do. Would recommend this property for easy beach access down the street and quick access to the highway, which leads to New Buffalo or Saint Joseph A+

Spontaneous stay!

It was our first time spending time in Michigan. It was very spontaneous and we were lucky this home was still available! It was stocked, clean and just a short walk to the beach, Union Pier social, Red Arrow Ride, the market and the Black Currant Bakery (Delicious) All so very good and helpful! We rented tubes and a paddle board from Red Arrow ride. They both delivered and picked them up for us! We had a great time and will be back! 🙌

Lovely home and great location

Other than thinking living room wasa bit bigger the house was exactly as depicted- lovely, cheerful, comfortable, and clean. Five of us enjoyed our time very much- cooking and meals on porch, s’mores using outdoor fire pit and amazing proximity to both beach, cafes and restaurants. Beach chairs, umbrella, and wagon made it all so easy - 2-3 min walk to beach access. Immediate surroundings of house are lacking at the moment - in progress it seems. Host is great and eager to please- we felt so welcome and at home! We would love to come back every summer!

I just could not pass this up! This property was previously owned by John Ayres, nick named "The bulldog". This Estate has been in their family for nearly 100 years. John was a high school shop teacher and doubled as the high school football coach. John's wife was also a school teacher. The proximity to one of the nicest community beaches is only a hundred yards away. We do not advertise 'views of the lake' but Lake Michigan is just the other side of lake Shore Road. The Beach house is deep on the lot, and the main house pretty much blocks any views of the Lake, but you can see the Lake as you walk to the Beach. At this time, no one occupies the main house and is slated for demo later in the year, as it will be replaced with a nice 5 bedroom main house.
