Two bedroom beach and bay private getaway - just relax! Gecko House Manasota Key

Two bedroom, downstairs corner unit set between the beautiful sunsets of the Gulf of Mexico and the amazing sunrises on Lemon Bay in Manasota Key. Walk down to the private dock and watch the sunrise and the pelicans, or walk to the beach and relax on the sand and in the water. Or enjoy sunbathing at the private salt water pool.

This unit has two bedrooms with comfy beds and furniture. One bedroom has a king bed, the other a queen and the sleeper loveseat in the living room pulls out for guests. Each bedroom has its own ac unit and there are ceiling fans throughout. Including the porch. The two recliners in the living room are perfect for relaxing or watching the 48 inch tv in the living room. Basic cable as well as high speed wireless internet are included.

There is a full kitchen if you are in the mood for cooking. Pots, pans, dishes, silverware are all included as well as large refrigerator, dishwasher, stove, microwave and a Keurig. There is one nice sized bathroom easily accessible from both bedrooms. All linens and towels are provided.

The lovely screened in porch is always a guest favorite where you can relax in the evening after a day at the beach, or start the day with a cup of coffee.

If you like to grill you can use the barbecue grill dedicated to this unit - just step out the back entrance from the kitchen. There is also plenty of outdoor seating, either next to the grill or by the pool.

If you want a friendly, comfortable getaway spot steps away from everything great about the beach this is it. Come play and have fun!

WE absolutely love the tranquility of this place it is private, clean and has everything and i mean everything you will need for your trip, Has everything imaginable for your beach enjoyment, Had we known ahead of time all we would have had to pack was clothes. LITERALLY The pool was amazing and private . We are definitely booking again. Host answers you within minutes . Everything was perfect. Grounds need a good cleaning up but that's all i have to say in a negative aspect but they are still cleaning from last years hurricane in this area.

Great stay at Gecko House

Had a wonderful stay at the Gecko House. The home was very clean and comfortable and the location was excellent! It’s tucked off the main road making it feel like a private getaway but you can easily walk across the street to the beach or drive a short distance to restaurants on Manasota Key. The kitchen had plenty of dishes and utensils, there were lots of bath and beach towels, and even beach wagons, umbrellas, and chairs to use. We also appreciated the welcome basket of coffee and treats since we arrived late at night- we didn’t have to go out for coffee early the next morning! The property was well maintained and the pool was a great relaxation spot. Many homes on manasota key have been damaged by recent hurricanes, but the Gecko House is in perfect condition. We heard rumors of debris on the beach due to the hurricane damage, but we had no issues in the section of beach accessed from the house and spent lots of time there with our toddler. This house was perfect and we would stay again!

Clean and well located

Thank you Marti for being such a gracious hostess. We really enjoyed getting to know you and your husband. We enjoyed your well-located property and would recommend it to anyone. We got to see several turtles come onto the beach at night to lay their eggs as well. That was an amazing experience.

Perfect Get Away!!

The beach is a short walk and not crowded at all! There's a shallow pool on the property where in the evenings the kids played while we gathered with the owners and the other vacationers. There's is only three guest apartments so there's no hustle and bustle feeling at all. It is total relaxation. There's a State Park about a mile and a half away if you have kids who want to find others to play with. There's a SUPER nice and simple user friendly beach cart! If you want to search for sharks teeth I suggest the local Babe's Ace Hardware for supplies. If you need a Body board I suggest Barefoot Trader Inc. their prices are fair and better quality than you find at Walmart. We loved our stay so much if our work schedules allow all of us will be back multiple times not only as renters but as Friends!

Absolutely Amazing!

I can not say enough about this property location and the owners, Marti and Rod. This was definitely one of the best experiences that I have had with VRBO. It was extremely clean, the oceanside was a 5 minute walk, the bayside was a 1 minute walk and you can take a free shuttle to the restaurants, which are only a mile away. The pool area was tropical and beautiful.

Perfect

Check in was so nice! Marti and Rod were waiting for us when we arrived even though we were 4 hours later than planned. They showed us in and made our family feel welcomed and comfortable. They even had waters, oranges, coffee and snacks there for us, which after a 12 hour drive was so nice because we didn't have to run right out to the store and could wait until morning. The place was cute and cozy. I'm very picky about beds and the king sized bed in the master was super comfy! I slept so good every night. We brought 4 teenagers with us and we all were comfortable. We were going to go buy an air mattress after we arrived because we didn't think two teens would be comfortable on the pull out sofa. But she had already had a nice one of those too for us to use. From the driveway you can walk right about 1000 ft (give or take) and be at the private dock where you can watch the sunrise and the fish swim. We even saw a baby hammer head shark! If you go left out of the drive its about a 2 minute walk to the beautiful serene beach, with the clear blue green water and no matter what time of day we went was never crowded. The kids and I had so much fun looking for shells (there are a lot!) And swimming and relaxing together. The condo had everything we needed dishes, towels, blankets, pillows etc. The shower felt amazing! There is a large back yard with tables and a grill to use. There is a pool on the property and the fenced pool area was very inviting. Plenty of seating with shade and areas to sun bathe. Even a lounger for two! My kids spent the 1st half of the day at the beach and then would stay in the pool until bed time! Even though this unit is in a quadruplex, it is very private. It has its own drive and a large screened in porch that had an awesome breeze. I loved my stay here and would certainly stay again. I've stayed in a lot of vacation rentals and have to say that Marti and Rod have been the best hosts yet. So welcoming and caring and made the stay so great! I wish I could have stayed longer!
