Cozy Relaxed Beachy Couple Space - Part of Gecko House on Manasota Key

The perfect space for getting away from it all. Located at the heart of Gecko house on Manasota Key, this has everything you need for a wonderful time. Steps away from the pool, Lemon Bay and the Gulf. With our deeded beach access you will feel like you have the beach to yourself. No crowds or noise, just seashells, pelicans, dolphins and miles of beach.
Our one bedroom has a queen size bed with a pillow top mattress, great comfortable couch and recliner and a nice sized bathroom and kitchen. The screened in porch is a great place to start your day with a cup of coffee, or just relax anytime. The kitchen has everything you might need to cook a nice meal and the bathroom has plush towels and lots of hot water.
When you are ready to go to the beach just grab some of the beach towels and chairs and an umbrella and you’re ready to go! If you’d rather stay put, you can lounge by the pool and enjoy the sunshine and palm trees. Just relax.

The couch pulls out into a reasonably comfortable bed for one person if you have a relative or friend joining you for a day or two. Your only problem will be getting them to leave. 😁

Peaceful quiet area

Great accommodations, friendly neighbors, super helpful hosts. Nice beach lots of shells, found a couple of shark teeth. Shopping and restaurants in the area.

Our stay was wonderful. The place was clean and well maintained. Very well supplied. The hosts are very friendly and available for concerns (although we did not have any). Will definitely come back.

kudos to Marti and her husband for all of their efforts to bring the cottage back to its former beauty after the horrendous damage from 2 hurricanes last fall. Very comfortable accommodations and close to beach and bay. Loved the restaurants that were open, Waverly and BeachComber

We had a wonderful time staying at this property. It was close to the beach and had all the comforts of home. We enjoyed the pool area, as well. The host, Marti, went above and beyond to make sure we had what we needed.

We very much enjoyed our stay in Manasota Key. This rental was very clean and had all the amenities for a comfortable stay. The location was perfect! Easy access to a quiet area of the beach. The pool was a nice option as well. Hosts were very accommodating and responsive. Wonderful vacation!

Perfect space

This was the perfect space for what we needed. Bed and pillows were comfy, kitchen was just the right size, bathroom was clean and overall was a lovely place. The beach was a close walk so we were able to enjoy morning and evening strolls along the beach every day. Lemon Bay was a close walk and we were able to enjoy an afternoon of kayaking. We also took in a couple of Braves spring Training games. Marti was very responsive to all of our messages and they were such gracious hosts! We will definitely be staying again!

Holiday Getaway

Perfect size for 3 adults. Had everything we needed and more. Nice walk to the Gulf. The one downfall was the steps down to the water for me. I have health issues that make stairs an issue but i did it to enjoy the beautiful location on the water.

Very Clean and Great location!

Short walk to the beach and Stumpy free rides(tips only) to restaurants & bars on Manasota Key. Nice clean refreshing pool & enclosed fire pit area. Convenient Laundry room with detergents and also outdoor shower & grill. Very comfortable beds. Plenty of beach supplies- beach wagons, coolers, noodles, chairs & umbrellas. Free Wi-Fi.

CLEAN, COZY, WITH GREAT AMMENITES.

Initially we had booked the 1 bedroom unit, the host reached out because some work was being done to the outside of that unit, so she upgraded us to the 2 bedroom unit. Check in was easy, communication was great. The common pool had lots of seating, and was very nice. She provided a ton of beach stuff. Grill worked perfectly. Onsite free laundry. Beach access was a short walk across the street . The unit was clean and had everything we neeeded. My husband and I needed this breat, as we have a large family at home. We hope to come back again.

Very, very nice but not really steps to the beach

first of all, we loved our stay here. The owners are over-the-top nice and great at communications. The unit was clean and quaint and just great for the two of us. The only downside was the description that said they were "steps from the beach", which swayed our decision. Sadly, they are 320 steps from the beach (I counted) and you have to cross a street that on occasion can be very busy. If you are okay with being about two blocks from the beach, then this IS a wonderful place!

Excellent Visit to Manasota Key

The place was very clean. There were lots of extras -Water bottles in the refrigerator, snacks in a bowl. It was a short walk to the beach. The beach was beautiful. Sparkling clear water. They were many accessories that we had access to. Beach chairs, beach, umbrellas, a gas, grill, bicycles, and kayaks. All in all it was a lovely trip and our host was great. Lots of communication and quick answers.

Gecko House

Overall the Gecko house was very clean & provided everything we needed. However, description of just steps from beach were inaccurate but once you get there, ok. Biggest disappointment was "RED TIDE" which had us coughing & definitely kept us off the beach. HIGHLY recommend checking the status of the Red Tide prior to visiting any of the gulf beaches !!!

3rd Anniversary Celebration in Paradise

My husband and I visited Manasota Key to celebrate our 3rd anniversary. It is such a beautiful and peaceful place. Marti was super helpful and quick to respond to any questions I had. The house had absolutely everything! I cannot praise them enough for all the amenities included. It really made being there feel like home! Since we flew down and didn't have a car, having basically everything we needed was extremely helpful: bikes, kayaks, beach chairs, beach towels, coolers, beach bags, a wagon to carry everything, a washer/dryer area with everything needed plus our room included plenty of shampoo, conditioner, sunscreen, bug spray, condiments in the fridge, snacks and 2 bottles of water, etc. The list goes on. The location was also perfect as it was a short and beautiful walk to the bay or the beach. For anyone looking for a place to stay in Manasota Key, this is it!!

Literally the perfect stay. I’ll be back.

Quick responses, when I had initial questions, more accommodating than any host I’ve Ever had. Not a single detail missed. I’ve stayed at many Bnb’s, stateside n abroad. Everything from a pool w bench seating IN the pool, beach chairs beach towels, grills, 5 minute walk across the street to a beautiful quiet beach, 5 or six houses down from the apartment to the boat dock (on the inter coastal. Matti and Rod were Perfect hosts, personal, social, yet private of course. Knew where to eat, great recommendations be it breakfast, supper, know the area very well. Don’t need to bring a cooler, have beach wagon as well to tow everything to the beach. I seen nothing missed. By far the best BNB I’ve stayed at in the US, just need your bag, grocery is 10 minutes away. Marti n Rod, Thank you for the stay.

Gecko House

Gecko house was accurately described in the listing. It is located on a quiet street. The apartment was clean and cared for. This was our first VRBO and we were impressed. Marti really has thought out everything. From beach towels to every needed for the beach. Chairs, toys, wagons for transport, umbrellas and more. The pool was great! The house was equipped with toaster, coffee pot and coffee and microwave. The kitchen was well stocked with pots/pans and anything else we needed to cook. The beach is an easy walk across the beach road and short path. The welcome snacks and cold waters were much appreciated. Communication with Marti was easy and responsive. Marti answered all questions we had in a timely manner. Pretty much instantly. We had a wonderful stay.
