Amazing location, great hosts!

We loved the location of this condo. The access to the athletic club across the street was perfect for morning workouts. Quick and walkable distance to plenty of restaurants and shops and of course the beach! It all made for a perfect family vacation.

We loved our stay at Alex’s vacation home. It’s spacious with a nice lanai to enjoy coffee every morning and situated on corner so very private. A short walk to the grassy area by beach. The grounds are beautifully maintained. There were lots of fans inside the condo which we appreciated.

Perfect Condo

We loved our stay at this condo in Poipu. It had everything we needed. A plus was the several fans situated in the various rooms. We especially enjoyed sitting out on the lanai, taking in the beautiful views. The resort property is lush with plenty of tropical plants. It is just a short walk to the beach.

We love the Kiahuna plantation. Our stay at Cynthia and Alrick’s condo was wonderful. We had a nice distant peekaboo view of the ocean. The condo is very clean and nicely appointed. One of the nicest parts of our stay was getting to know Cynthia and Alrick. They are wonderful, sweet people and very willing to help you in anyway they can. You can’t go wrong to choose this condo.

I've seen various facilities in Kauai. But this one tops them all. It's like being in a tropical garden. Huge trees, niches with barbecue areas everywhere. Very, very friendly staff. You are greeted warmly everywhere. The apartment is good, but the furnishings are a bit outdated. But all in all, we really enjoyed it here. We would love to come back.

Aloha... First and foremost, there is absolutely no highway that is near our condo. And, there is no highway noise. There is a good 150 to 200 feet from our condo to Poipu Road. Poipu Road is just a road and there are miles and miles of 1000's of condos on it. And, after 9:00 pm or so, there are virtual no cars driving by. We feel our condo has an exceptional location because the condos down from Poipu Road at Kiahuna Plantation Resort have lots of noise from the lawn mowers, blowers, people having late night party's, etc. We have had many guests that have stayed in a variety of 300 plus condos at Kiahuna Plantation Resort tell us that our condo's location is preferred over all others. Another thing to consider is that our condo is a 3 to 5 minute walk to the ocean, so the closer you stay to the ocean, the more the nightly rate increases. We were surprised to hear your comments. You kept telling us you were enjoying yourself so much. But, we think if you come back to stay at Kiahuna Plantation Resort condos, you will find our condos location and price preferable. In addition, we very very rarely have any complaints about road noise. That pretty much says it all. A hui hou.

Beautiful location

Kiahuna Plantation is a great location with beautiful grounds to stroll through and explore. It also a short walk to the beach. The condo was on the top floor with a lovely view from the lanai, with a glimpse of the ocean. The top floor, end unit had a nice breeze that came through to keep the unit cool. The unit had a comfortable bed and a great shower. There was an outdoor closet on the porch with lots of recreational gear, including snorkels, flippers, beach chairs, beach umbrellas and pool items. The host was very responsive and easy to communicate with.

Rest and Recharge

Alarik and Cynthia are attentive hosts. We had few reasons to connect, but each time we had a question we received prompt responses. And follow ups to make certain things were going well. It's a beautiful property and being on the top floor in an end unit with the ability to see the ocean was awesome. The area is walkable to two centers with restaurants and shops. One is a five minute walk and the other is a twenty minute walk, which is along the ocean ! We look forward to returning !

We are so happy you appreciated the fact that our condo is so perfectly located on the third floor and an end unit so that you not only have a great view of the ocean but also have the refreshing and nourishing Tradewinds flowing through the condo. The expansive 15 foot vaulted ceilings also allow for the softness of the Tradewinds to be fully enjoyed. The fact that our condo has a private door preventing other guests from walking by the windows of the bedroom is a great advantage to secure your privacy and peace and quiet. Actually, of the 330 condos in Kiahuna Plantation Resort, only 4 other condos have that private door.

Great Condo in a Beautiful Location

We stayed in this condo and loved it. Communication with the owners was professional and friendly. The place was exactly as advertised. Everything worked well and it was clean and quiet. The walk to the beach is easy. We found that the best beach location was just to the east by the Marriott. We drove 3 minutes to the parking lot just east of the property. The beach chairs and umbrellas in the closet were very useful. We rented the car that is available with the condo and that worked out really well. No surprises or hidden fees. Would definitely stay here again and will recommend it to others.

Many feel the location of our condo is the best out of all the Kiahuna Plantation condos because there are not those very early morning blowers and lawn mowers. YES! Waiohai Beach just east of the Marriot is definitely the best beach. The water is always clear and clean and somehow the sun is always shining, even if the rest of the island is cloudy and full of rain. And, just a short charming walk from our condo. We also loved hearing that our car rental worked out well for you. It is our goal to make our car rental effortless and efficient. Great place, great condo, fantastic Host’s

We have been staying at plantation for years. Different buildings/rooms each time through VRBO. This room was just as nice as the others but the Host’s are on island and so helpful. If this is your first trip to area this room is perfect! Corner unit means a nice breeze and the owners description of view does not give justice to the ocean view. It’s distant but not peekaboo at all …. Simply perfect room, we slept so good on bed we came home & ordered the bed topper they have on mattress! Mahalo for such a welcoming bag of goodies you left for our arrival! We will be back :) 🌴🌺🌞

Paradise

This was our first time in Kauai, and we have now absolutely fell in love with the island. This condo was perfect for our trip. Comfortable bed, well equipped kitchen if you are wanting to eat in, which we did for the majority of our meals. Loved that we could make our own smoothies. Lots of fans to keep the space cool. Well stocked activity closet, including beach chairs, umbrellas, coolers and snorkel gear. Awesome to walk through the property and have a beach where you swim, surf, snorkel, body surf or just hang out right there waiting for you. We also took advantage of the car rental. At first I was unsure about it, but had seen a couple reviews mention it, so took the opportunity and it was awesome and very convenient in every way, from communications with owners to pick up and drop off.The property owners were lovely and easy to reach when needed. They take pride in their condo, and ensured that we had an incredible stay. We can’t wait to return!!

Beautiful grounds and location

The location was convenient to Poipu beaches and shopping. The grounds were amazingly beautiful. Plenty of parking near the condos. Very beautiful setting. As for the condo, it was ok but worn out. Be aware that there are 30 steps to get up to the top floor with no elevator. No problem with that, just be aware. The weather and humidity takes a toll on Hawaii properties. That is what you come to expect there. The walk to the beach is about 7 to 8 minutes, not the 3 minute walk as described in the description. There are some inaccuracies in the vrbo listing description. There is not a washer in the condo. But there is a guest laundry area near the checkin building. $3 per load, and it takes credit cards. There are plenty of washers and dryers. The bedroom was small but there was sufficient closet and drawer space. Nice eating areas inside and on the lanai. Overall, it was an acceptable condo, just a bit worn out. The privacy door was nice. And a closet full of beach items was very convenient. All in all, a nice place to stay.

Worth Your Consideration

This is the first time we stayed in a VRBO in Hawaii. We enjoyed this experience very much compared to staying at a resort hotel. The property is well located in Poipu, and both the grounds and the unit were well maintained. Like most VRBO properties in Kauai, this one is not air conditioned. This was only an issue on our first night, after an unusually hot day and unusually light trade winds. The property does have two ceiling fans, two stand fans, and one table top fan. These kept the unit comfortable except on the hottest day of our stay. The unit is well equipped with pots, pans, utensils, plates and glassware. The beach closet near the front entry was well stocked with items that you would otherwise consider buying for a stay on Kauai. Cable and internet were good, and the TV in the living room was a smart TV, so we were able to view Netflix and Prime Video. Furniture was comfortable, and the large lanai was the perfect place to enjoy fresh local fruit from the nearby fruit stand. There are plenty of dining and shopping options nearby also, and the ability to use the pool and fitness club across the street was a nice amenity that we used almost daily. If you have an issue with stairs, you may want to opt for a ground floor unit, as this unit is a three story walk up.

Thank you so much for this comprehensive review. We wanted to comment on the fact that our condo does not have air conditioning. You see, there are 333 condos at Kiahuna Plantation Resort in Poipu and only a very few of them have AC. Why is that? The main answer is that the cost of electricity on Kauai is very expensive. So, if you decide that AC is what you want, then you will pay at least $100 to $150 more each night than a non-AC condo. Also, as Thomas mentioned it was an unusually hot day and the reality is that rarely happens. And, since the condo is an end unit on the top floor with vaulted ceilings, the refreshing trade winds are flowing through to add to that tropical feeling.

Excellent location for best beaches and sunsets!

Owners were extremely helpful and wanted to be sure we had access to the best experiences on the island. Well equipped condo with beach closet that held all items for enjoyment on the beach (chairs, umbrellas, fins, noodles etc) Condo was quite comfortable for my husband and I with lovely balcony that gives a partial ocean view. A great stay!

Excellent Stay!

We stayed for a destination wedding and had an excellent time! Alarik and Cynthia were the best hosts we've ever had through a vacation rental. Their pre-trip coordination was very detailed, and they were the perfect amount of supportive during the stay (always available, but never a bother). The vehicle option was fantastic as well - much easier than other options on the island. I highly recommend their place and would stay again!

Great stay in Poipu!

Fantastic accommodations and location for our family of four close to beaches, restaurants and shops. It is a corner unit with great views from the large, private deck. Would highly recommend. Thank you Alarik and Cynthia!

We are very happy to meet you.

We are both brain scientists and really into health and well-being!

We have done a lot of traveling ourselves and stayed in many resorts. We know what makes it or breaks it! So, we have tried to make our Condo #245 be the ultimate vacation get-a-way. We hope you read the description and check out the photos. That way you will get a real flavor of all we have to offer.

We are fortunate to live here on sunny south shore of Kauai We found Kauai after Maui, Big Island and Oahu. We lived some time on north shore of Kauai but became tired of the often brown and polluted beaches from the rivers flowing into the ocean.
We also got tired of so many rainy days. We use to drive DOWN to Poipu to find the sun, NOW we live here with crystal clear waters on sunny days all year round. Plus, 15 minutes to all the key island businesses in Lihue and 20 minutes to airport.

In addition, we are much closer to the west shore and canyon areas. And, close to nearly all of the ocean activities such as Na Pali snorkel, sail, and/or raft excursions. Or, ATV tours to water falls, ancient Hawaiian lands, ziplining etc

So, we are happy to be living here and invite you to enjoy the same value the south shore offers. Being here saves us a lot of time to do the things we want and can save you a lot of time vacationing. South shore Kauai has it all.

But, don't get us wrong, we like many things about north shore, especially going out to Tunnels and Keke beach and Kahalau trail.

* The bright and open kitchen is fully equipped. Everything the "Cook" would want to create your favorite meals. Even a Ninja blender to blend your smoothies, new knife set for sharp knives, coffee maker, new cutting boards, etc.

* Maximum Privacy for Peace and Quiet: This top-floor, corner condo is uniquely private and secluded so other resort guests can not disturb you by walking and talking by your windows to get to their condo.

* Keep in mind, there are no elevators at Kiahuna Plantation Resort. Condo #245 is on the top floor so there are stairs involved.

* One of the biggest complaints from guests at other condos at Kiahuna Plantation Resort is the noise that gets generated from many guests walking by their bedroom and bathroom windows at all hours of the day and night.

* You won't be bothered by this constant disruption in Condo # 245. Check out the photos and see the private door that can be closed to completely privatize your living area from others staying at the resort.
