Oceanfront in Hilo Hale Kai Suites Bamboo Room - King Bed, Private Bathroom

Hale Kai Hawaii Suites offers four oceanfront rooms (booked individually) and a spectacular, panoramic view of the blue Pacific Ocean and Hilo Bay. We overlook the popular Honolii surfing beach in a peaceful location just 2 miles north of historic Hilo Town. Revel in the best views in Hilo while at our pool and oceanfront lanai!

The Bamboo Room offers a king bed, private bathroom with shower, WiFi, SMART TV, small fridge/freezer, microwave, coffee maker, hot water pot, toaster, dishes and utensils, ceiling and portable fans, no air conditioning, and sliding door to lanai. Continental breakfast items are stocked daily and we invite all guests to swim in the pool or lounge on the oceanfront lanai.

A few NOTES: One parking spot is provided per room in this quiet residential neighborhood. All Guest Rooms are facing the ocean on the lower level of the property and there are over 30 steps down (pictured) to traverse to the rooms. Guests are responsible for carrying their luggage to their rooms. Bookings limited to 2 guests per room (including children). Quiet hours are 9pm to 8am for the comfort of all of our guests, Mahalo!

While at Hale Kai (House on the Ocean) Hawaii, enjoy watching surfers, dolphins, and seasonal humpback whales during their annual migration to the Hawaiian Islands from the north Pacific. Great beautiful place and view, very clean and comfortable room. Host was great, everyday got fresh fruit and muffins. We really enjoyed our stay, would highly recommend this place for a beautiful stay away from the city hussel and bussel, just 10mins to the city beautiful beaches very close by.

Amazing property in hilo

We LOVED this property. It was exactly as listed and was a good drive from akaka falls and downtown Hilo. The property was clean. We would stay here again.

Great B&B

The room was nice, and they stocked your fridge with a nice breakfast for each morning. The pool is incredible - it over looked the ocean including a nice surfing beach and Hilo town. The room also had a nice private lanai area for each room overlooking the ocean.

Amazing Hilo BNB

Absolutely amazing stay at the Bamboo room. We woke up to ocean waves, fresh papaya, boiled eggs, yogurt, and other tasty treats. We had a great time staying here and would definitely come back!

Wonderful location!

The view from the big windows was spectacular. We enjoyed our breakfast on the patio every morning. The floral display around the house was stunning. We couldn't have asked for a better location. We did trips to the north and south ends of the island. Thanks for a wonderful stay.

Absolutely lovely!

My husband and I had a wonderful stay here. The view was spectacular and a dream to wake up to every morning. The staff was attentive and we enjoyed the breakfasts provided. It was a 10/10 experience and we would highly recommend this B&B to anyone traveling to Hilo!

Best place to end our honeymoon!

This property was our last stop on our two-week Hawaii Island honeymoon. The location was amazing and the quaint B&B style was exactly what we needed. We loved our morning coffee, fresh fruit, and yummy sweet bread while taking in the warm sun and ocean views. We will definitely return for anniversary trips!

I truly enjoyed my stay at this location. I was amazed by the view and really enjoyed being directly on the ocean. The pool and hot tub were welcome, and I was able to see the humpbacks in the bay. Also, a wonderful view of the sunrise from here. The fresh fruit and breakfast accommodations were a nice touch.

Comfortable stay withgreat view

We enjoyed our stay here very much. Just a few recommendations: instructions to the room could have been a bit clearer. Luckily, we got here before dark. Outdoor lighting along the path would help, too! The breakfast fruit and muffins were a very nice touch. Kekela was very nice, too!

Beautiful view!

Breakfast on the patio looking out over the ocean was a highlight of our trip! Our unit was good sized and comfortable. We enjoyed the hot tub. The first breakfast was very basic, but the next two included delicious fruit plates.

Honeymoon part 1!

Fantastic way to kick off our honeymoon! Got to sleep right on the water with great ocean views and sounds. Enjoyed the pool and hot tub. Location was perfect for our plans- not too far from hikes, and super close to downtown Hilo.

Magical Hideaway

My husband and I felt as if we were the only ones on the property. We had the pool and hot tub all to ourselves. Swimming in the pool with panoramic views was stunning and the daily breakfast was a bonus. I highly recommend this place for couples.

Beautiful property

Property is absolutely beautiful with a nice view of the water. Room had everything we needed and the included breakfast was delicious. Location is a little bit remote but we never had a problem finding an Uber. Overall great stay.
