This house is much roomier than it looks in the photos! While we only had 3 people staying, there is plenty of room and beds for lots of family. The hosts are very friendly and communication with them is easy. It was cold out so we didnt use the outdoors other than the gas grill.

Great quiet location

The home was well stocked with anything you could need while away from home. The kitchen was great for a big crew. The bedrooms were comfortable and just right for our group.

Wonderful Vacation

We had a great time staying here, and being so close to South Haven was amazing! We walked around town and visited all the restaurants and sights. The home was perfect for our family of five, and we were comfortable all week. There are a ton of games, both indoor and outdoor, to play, and a library of books and movies, which we took full advantage of. I would definitely recommend this home for your next vacation!

Lovely house

My family and I have been coming to South Haven for vacation for about 15 years. This house is very comfortable and is the most well-equipped we’ve ever stayed in. There are 2 queen bedrooms (one is a sort of suite) and another bedroom has 2 twins. Everything is very up-to-date and in good condition. We were particularly happy that there’s a smart TV that allows you to access Hulu (for free) as well as any other streaming service you subscribe to. The hosts are very generous in providing snacks, beach chairs and towels, games, toys, and sporting equipment. They also responded immediately when we had a question. There are several outdoor areas where you can sit, eat, read, and talk. It’s only a short drive to the beach and to the restaurants on Phoenix St. We enjoyed our stay very much and were only sorry when it was time to go home.

Fully Stocked Rental

This house is stocked. We enjoyed the Kurig coffee and snacks. It was so nice to have beach towels and chairs available. Tons of games and toys for kids. Our kids are too old for that stuff now, but I know they would have loved it when they were younger. Nice quiet street. This is a great place to stay, but we did have my 80 year old parents come visit for a day and the uneven floors were an issue for them. Just something to be aware of when choosing a place to rent. The flooring changes in several different places throughout the house. There is a step down to get to the bathroom. The front deck has an awkward step height at the bottom and the top. The owner is so quick to respond. They even came over mid- week to remove some poison ivy we spotted in their back yard so we could enjoy the covered patio in the evenings.

Second time around

We stayed at this place before, it is very clean and spacious. But this time we were a little disappointed. There was no soap in the shower, kitchen under-stocked, only mayo and mustard in the fridge and no ice. the owner did come and bring us a bag of ice after we called. We cook because we are there all week and there was no mixing bowls or baking pans, only a sheet pan, a saucepan, and several skillets. We had trouble making meals. Also, there were no extra blankets in the bedrooms. All of this was disappointing for us. There are many child things and beach things - - we love that the towels and chairs are right by the front door. But the ice machine on the fridge did not work and neither did the gas fire table on the porch. To their credit, the house is spotless. bathrooms and beds nice.

Good location -- but a few issues with the house and info from the owners

The house seemed nice at first: well kept, clean, homey. We were informed as soon as the owners knew that the road our rental was going to be paved while we were staying there. This wasn't in their control at all, but it was a 2 day process and the road couldn't be driven on for 24hrs after the second day. With a handicapped guest and a 1 year old this was an inconvenience to park a street away. We found some kitchen tools with dried food on them before the had even been used. Though we didn't see many bugs in the house throughout the week, my mom found a centipede behind the coffee cart that crawled behind the counter space. The front door frame between the screen and door had a wasp's nest in the wood work with a few wasps buzzing around the door as we were coming back one night. This made it difficult to go in and out of the house that evening without getting attacked or letting them in. Their were some signs in the house that it wasnt professionally renovated. The second to last night of our stay it stormed pretty hard and the roof apparently has a leak. This leak was directly above my son while he was sleeping and poured enough rain water on him to wake him up. The ceiling in the big room has some spots that have been painted over, which I assume is where other leaks were and the whole ceiling is bowing. The stay was overall fine for what we needed to be near the beach. The owners were quick to respond. But I would confirm that repairs have been made before booking here.

Last minute getaway

When other plans fell thru,we decided to go last minute to South Haven for our anniversary. House was well stocked with everything you could need, ever! Really appreciated fridge stocked with cold water. At first was unsure about neighborhood ,but was minutes from everything . Older home remodeled, some issues with quality , uneven floors ,molding unfinished, , water pressure etc. but no big deal. Would recommend

August 2022 vacation

The house is cute, in a quiet neighborhood. The open floor plan lots of toys and books. They felt at home. The host provided all the supply needed for the beach (towels, chairs, sand toys). We appreciated the welcome package as well a variety of coffee (Keurig). SHort drive to the beach and downtown.

Thoughtful from the very start

We really felt and appreciated the thoughtfulness regarding this entire experience. It is pretty clear that this property is catered towards families. We really enjoyed every aspect of our stay and appreciate the hosts for making their home available for other families to enjoy. Totally inspired and love the area. First timers to Soha and we'll be back soon!

Quiet, spacious house was ideal for our group of 4

Great location on a quiet, residential street for me, my boyfriend, and my parents. The house is very spacious and has lots of amenities. We especially appreciated that beach towels and chairs were available for us to use. The hosts were very responsive and left clear instructions. As some reviewers noted, there are a few little steps in the house that are easy to trip on, so just be aware of that. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay and would definitely rent this property again!

Beachy Surprise

This is a most pleasant property! From the pictures, I had concerns about the size and location, but it turned out to be more than I expected. House is charming, with a beach vibe even though it is residential. Awesome great room with huge kitchen table for games and meals with family. Beach towels and umbrellas at the front door to send us off for lots of fun, games and a gas grill for the yard. We enjoyed it much, will rent again when if it is available.

Relaxing Retreat
