Every detail sets the tone for a fantastic vacation! Relax w/amazing fountain views & pvt pool. This 1-level home surrounds you w/high quality comfort, just 0.6 miles to the beach access. It's an easy 3 min bike ride, or a 10 minute walk to the sand, nestled on a quiet cul-de-sac.

The vaulted living room w/exposed beam & open floor plan to the kitchen & dining room makes gathering ideal. You’ll feel connected to the stunning outside -all windows from the main area offer views of the sunlit fountain, pond & pool. The pool can also be heated (ask about our 5 nt promo). When seated out on the pool deck, the sun rises through the trees on the left, providing sparkling light but shaded areas to sit with coffee or tea. Enjoy afternoon sun on the pool. As the sun sets behind trees on the right, you once again have shade for evening snacks or meals poolside - perfect! Outdoor dining table & chairs not pictured, but see our FB pics!

All spaces have been thoughtfully designed for relaxation, comfort, & maximum function. One of us is a professional architect & certified interior designer, & we've brought the colors of the sand & surf to every inch of this gracious, well appointed home. 5 BR, incl a master & a second en-suite bedroom w/dedicated bath, plus 2 bedrooms that share a jack-&-jill bath, make this home ideal for arranging multiple family situations. An additional 5th bedroom has 2 twins plus a 2 sleeper sofa, & we provide another twin air mattress for accommodating couples & children as you need.

The path to the beach is easy, direct & is mostly wide, flat paved bike paths, with beautiful views of the 11-mile lagoon, golf course & amazing live oaks. The beach access path itself is paved until the wood bridge over the dunes, where you find yourself on arguably the best stretch of private beach the island offers. A new wheelchair mat helps wheel onto the beach. The beach is spacious & away from the condos/high rise resorts, so you have lower crowds all year. The tidepools are especially fun for kids to splash in away from waves. The folly just a short walk north is a fun place to play. Riding bikes on the beach is a favorite pastime, unique to HHI, & is allowed all day year 'round. Walk to 2 beachfront bars & grills! We give guests bike rental discounts.

At home, enjoy views of palms, live oaks & the gorgeous fountain pool-side. Mornings on the lounge chairs are serene. Egrets, osprey, & herons visit the yard. Just lounging at home feels like being at a high end resort, which is our ultimate goal. This is not your average beach rental! We have been honored to host families as Premier Owners for 10 years at our sister 5-Star VRBO property on Lake Gaston in VA (VRBO ID# 559636, "Dragonfly"). We know what it means to spend time with family & friends, and we have taken our decade of experience as guests & owners, and put it into this comfortable home, on the island we love so much.

1- level living means multiple generations enjoy this home together. The entry is accessible for strollers or wheelchairs, & there are no steps inside. Unloading luggage & groceries is convenient with parking right by the flat entrance path.

The large sectional makes family movie watching the place to be, or just relaxing by the floor-to-ceiling stone fireplace w/views out to the fountain & pool. The kitchen is fully stocked w/ appliances & tools (just check the reviews on our sister property). We know family meals are at the heart of every vacation. If you are looking for something in particular, just ask! The dining table is huge & seats 10-12 easily, set for 8 most of the time. There are 3 counter stools at the kitchen bar for quick breakfasts or visiting w/ those preparing meals. Another 3 counter stools behind the sectional at the live-edge walnut bar top faces the TV for additional movie/TV watching.

One of the best features of the fully stocked kitchen is the dedicated beverage/prep station & 2nd sink, perfect for coffee/tea in the mornings & serving drinks during the day. The huge center island makes family style dinners and low country boils a breeze. Indoor/outdoor dishes, both keurig & brew pot coffee makers, pots/pans/pyrex/serving items-it's there! Enjoy the new large Weber grill poolside.

Kids have their cozy space in the double bunk room with a dedicated TV for X-box gaming, w/ 4 controllers. Each bedroom has its own smart TV. Only need 4 bedrooms? Let the 5th bedroom be an extra hangout space for kids or set up a puzzle & keep working on it all week. The 5th bedroom also has a desk for teleworking or online classes.

Parking for 2 cars is included, and you can purchase 2 extra passes. Sheets, towels, & starter toiletry amenities are ready when you arrive. We even provide pool towels as a courtesy for our guests’ convenience.

THE NEIGHBORHOOD:
Biking the paths in Palmetto Dunes to explore or to visit the General Store is a perfect outing. The paved pathways are also excellent for walks or jogs under the shade from the live oaks that stretch across the road and pathways. The Dunes House & Coco’s on the Beach are casual waterfront dining/bar options. Palmetto Dunes is right across from Shelter Cove, which has the marina for water excursions, shopping, a bakery, restaurants, 2 grocery stores & Starbucks, Kilwin's ice cream, & many more. (The bike path goes under the highway.) Winter holiday lights there are so fun to see. Our family loved going out on a boat tour hunting for shark teeth & even found a megalodon tooth! Palmetto Dunes hosts an annual pickleball championship, w/pickleball & tennis courts avail. Rent a canoe at Hilton Head Outfitters right in the neighborhood to paddle the community's 11 mile lagoon system. You can even leave the kids behind w/grandparents or friends for the day & get a day pass to the neighborhood's Omni resort for special celebrating or pampering. Visit HHI Distillery or wineries, take day excursions to Charleston, SC or Savannah, GA, or just a quick hop over to historic downtown Bluffton for quaint shops, restaurants & southern charm. Enjoy PD's 3 pro golf courses, incredible mini golf courses nearby, live music, or even climb the lighthouse in Harbour Town.

Bedroom 3: Queen bed w/attached jack-&-jill bath, bathroom has a combination tub/shower perfect for bathing kids or taking a nice soak or shower after a day at the beach.

Additional Sleeping: For ease of arranging your family, we also provide 2 twin air mattresses w/ self inflating pumps. The master bedroom can easily accommodate these, as can the 5th bedroom, to give you the most flexibility possible.

NOTE: In summer we are a FRIDAY, SATURDAY, *or SUNDAY checkin/checkout rental for max flexibility (please message & ask if your dates aren’t showing as possible) We HIGHLY recommend Fridays and Sundays, Saturdays are *very busy turnover days on the island & traffic is rough. By arriving Friday, the traffic is better & you get first pass at the grocery stores BEFORE they are ravaged by the Saturday arrivals. You then get to enjoy a full Saturday beach day, which is surprisingly quieter due to so many departures! It's a lovely time to spend your first morning & afternoon on the sand, moved in & ready to enjoy live music or dining out. Also, the crews are taxed to their limits on Saturdays. We feel we can offer a better level of service, dedication & attention to detail from the crew to make everything great for your stay by avoiding Saturdays when possible.

As a newer listing, we have some better availability and flexibility. We have enjoyed hosting at our other 5 star property for 10 years.
