Welcome to "Best Of Both"! This homey get-away overlooks beautiful Lake Ontario for amazing sunset views! Our updated 100-year old charmer features a big yard in a quiet neighborhood setting but we're within easy walking distance to the public beach, playground and skate park, historic lighthouse, free summer concerts, and all the village restaurants and bars. Bring your camera- you'll find lots of stunning settings to serve as backdrops for a wonderful vacation!

The space
"Best of Both" has a large welcoming lakefront porch with plenty of room for grilling and chilling. Yard games for the kids and an easy trail to explore the rocks on the shore make this an inviting place for the whole family. Our home features 4 bedrooms and 2 sitting areas, as well as a washer and dryer and Wi-Fi. Need a first-floor bed near a bath? We've got you covered with a pull-out sofa bed on the main floor. Rainy day? We've stocked puzzles and board games for lots of family competitions. Kitchen amenities include plenty of dishes, pot and pans, and a dishwasher for your convenience. Our dining table features easy seating for 7 in addition to stool seating for 3 at the breakfast bar.

We are happy to provide pillows, bedding, bath towels, kitchen towels, and some cooking/cleaning products. We also provide toilet paper and paper towels, as well as some basic toiletries (bar soap, shampoo/conditioner, toothpaste, etc.) to get you started. Beach towels and any refills you may need during your stay are the responsibility of the guest.

My husband and I just returned home from a week at Best of Both. The hosts were great to work with and were always very quick to respond anytime we had questions. The house felt very homey, which we loved. It was the perfect house to get away and relax for a week. The kitchen had anything and everything when it came to cookware/utensils. We loved either walking or driving to the nearby beach. We had a few nights with beautiful sunsets. Everything was perfect and we definitely in love with Best of Both and Sodus Point.

We rented 3 houses in the neighborhood and this house served as a headquarters for our family reunion at Sodus Point. The view, the porch, the fire pit, the large kitchen, dining area, and large gathering spaces made it a perfect place for 5 families to get together each day for dinner. Very clean and well equipped kitchen. The owners were very responsive to a problem that emerged the night before check out.

The house well accommodated our family. The kitchen set up is especially nice if you plan on preparing meals. It was helpful having two living areas with 6 adults, a teen and an infant. If you are traveling with older adults, or someone with ambulation issues, keep in mind that this is an updated old home. The tub-showers could be difficult to access. The location is great. It’s an easy walk to town, the light house museum, etc. We really enjoyed the porch. The lake view and sunsets were a highlight. The hosts were very responsive to messages and take obvious pride in their home. Side note-We rented a pontoon boat from Martin’s Tideside Marina. They provide excellent service at a very reasonable price.

Amazing stay!

We had an amazing stay in Sodus Point. The views and house were even better than the pictures and hosts were some of the best I’ve ever had. They were extremely responsive and even left some personal touches for us. Wouldn’t hesitate to stay there again.

Charming with exceptional views!

The home is a real find, on a bluff overlooking Lake Ontario. Old cottage feel with modern amenities, including gas and wood exterior fire pits. Ten minute walk to a beautiful lakeside town with nice shops and restaurants. A local resident even gave us firewood from their home when the store was out. Definitely recommend Dan and Jeanine’s home for a fantastic vacation.

Good for family

The house was very good for us. It had almost everything we needed to stay comfortable. The view of the lake from inside and outside both were great. Access to the lake shore was an added benefit. There was ample grass covered ground and it was good for children to run around. We enjoyed our stay.

Everything went very smoothly, no hassles. Beautiful view from porch. Well provisioned and very comfortable. Nice location, but limited beach access… no swimming nearby.

Lovely location and downstairs. Convenient to sights and eats. Little treasures in house left by owners. Great view of the lake and the critters. Clover, the groundhog was there every day to eat and stare at us.

Great place

The weather didn’t cooperate. But the cabin was very nice and roomy. There is a lot of attention to detail for comfort. Will recommend to my friends.

Best place to stay at the Point!

We had 10 family members staying for the 4th of July weekend. This house was just perfect for us! The house was clean, has charm and is well appointed. The yard was perfect for the kids and for family to play. The house is located in walking distance to town but offers privacy. We loved walking down to swim in the lake. Owners were very understanding and helpful.
