This house was decorated by a true artist, but I have to say the house has seen better days. It could use some TLC and a deep, deep, deep clean. The master shower is not installed correctly, visible mold all around it. The bathroom wall was covered in dust bunnies. Curtains in the master bedroom literally hanging out of the wall. I did let the owner know that the curtains had fallen more during our stay (I found dry wall chips in my suitcase) and he did offer to send a handy man. Beds were comfy, kitchen was clean, pool was great. I would have loved this place for a girls weekend in my early twenties!
Would not stay here again. They advertise the heated pool but if we had not accidentally ran into the pool cleaner it would have never been turned on. For 3-4 days I tried to contact the manager through the app, finally calling them. The number was disconnected. I immediately contacted them again showing the number and saying it was disconnected. I almost immediately got a response on day 4. They claimed they never had issues with communication like that but I saw similar claims from other guests. Also, I have all the receipts of the communications and screen shots. I had a very simple request all week. âHow do you turn off the pool light and how to turn on the pool heater?â As mentioned one was solved by accident. We trying to enjoying the nice weather ant night and the pool light was cycling through all the colors and flashing. They never could give me answer on the light but they claimed the heater could be controlled remotely. This was not true as the pool guy simply flipped a switch. The neighbors were also an issue. Each side has two dogs. There was an odor of dog feces and urine that was so pungent it made the outside area nearly unbearable. You could see days or weeks of feces and urine openly on dog pads in each back yard. They were also using that units garbage cans for their trash which smelled awful. Based off the poor communication it wasnât worth bringing up at the time. I would let the review speak for itself.
When we arrived at the location I messaged the manager to let him know that the box spring in one of the bedrooms was broken. We arrived on a Tuesday, he messaged me on Saturday apologizing for not seeing my message. He gave me the number to the maintenance guy. Sunday I messaged him because I never heard from the maintenance guy. Ended up he gave me the wrong number. So I messaged maintenance again and was told he would reach out to then owner. I never heard from him again. I messaged the manager on Monday to ask for check out instructions and also let him know that the trash had never been picked up and we had been there a week. Never heard anything back so we closed the property based off past experiences and left. We slept in the extra bedroom all week on a broken bed and had trash overflowing out of the trash can all week. It was very frustrating.
House was just as pictured. Total of 7 of us⊠blow up mattresses donât work I couldâve brought my own. Overall great house great stay. 15/20 mins away from everything.
This has to be the most uniquely and fun decorated place. The heated pool was fantastic and then location was perfect for what we needed. The owner was very responsive to any and all inquiries and we will be returning. The only thing Iâll give a heads up about is you can hear the train at night but I found it therapeutic,
We stayed at the Hideout for my sisterâs bridal weekend. The location was great and we loved the pool. The decor was very cute. The beds were comfy and the AC worked well. We all fit and slept comfortably.
With all of that great stuff I feel like the house needs a little TLC. The outdoor furniture cushions need to be cleaned. And the furniture is a bit worn. We did not sit on the furniture without adding a cover. The house must host pets because it smelled like animals had been there. The carpet was dirty.too.
Also, the house is in front of the metro rail, which can be loud in the morning.
Property is great overall but there were opportunities
Very kitschy and cool decor, completely Instagram worthy.
The pool is perfect for just chilling, great size and heated.
Location is extremely convenient for so much throughout downtown, but note that parking is limited and the neighborhood is very transitional.
The space is great for hanging out and having family time.
Overall we thoroughly enjoyed our time and stay and would recommend the property be considered. The only two drawbacks were as follows:
(1) The beds and pillows and incredibly uncomfortable. By the final night I joined my daughter to sleep on the floor using the sleeping bag as cushioning for a much better sleep. (2) We did have an issue with the refrigerator not cooling for the first 12 hours. We ended up power cycling resetting the temp to finally get it working - the key problem being that we could not get in touch with the owner.
Short review, it's a fun place and no problems were aggregious and the location is massively convenient.
Property is super cute! The beds were comfortable, but needs more pillows and larger towels. Kitchen is gorgeous and we loved the little half bath. Pool was immaculate! The stairs are very steep and there are a lot of them, just be advised.
The property was beautiful, clean and has a quiet neighborhood. The pool was 5ft deep and super relaxing. We could see downtown at night from the master bedroom it was very nice. This was our first time staying in Houston and we loved it!!
