Peyton`s Landing at Lake Gaston

Peyton's Landing is a beautiful 3 BR / 3 BA waterfront home with a majestic setting on Lake Gaston.

Enjoy breathtaking views from the upper deck at both the main house and the boathouse. The sunsets from either location are too spectacular to describe. The upper deck at the main house has a large gas grill for preparing dinners, with comfortable seating for 10 to enjoy meals, watch activity on the water, or view the sunset over the lake. Tie your boat alongside the dock and enjoy all Lake Gaston has to offer!

The huge backyard provides room for many activities, including horseshoes and a fire pit, for those nighttime hot dogs and s'mores. At the end of the evening, relax in the large 6-person hot tub underneath the main house.

Nice location
We stayed here last year and returned this year, however the maintenance has gone downhill. The AC went out and was fixed within 48 hours. The hot tub blew a top side control valve so every time the hot tub cycled, there was a fountain. Many of the jets/seats did not work. The lights have burned out going along the walkway to the dock. The bricks on the walkway are loose--my daughter fell when 2 bricks became dislodged. There's no ice maker on the counter as advertised. We told property management and nothing happened during our stay. They said they would look into a fix and keep in touch with me regarding what they decided to do. Never heard anything after their text.

Great Home - Just Bring Extra
The home was a great home to stay in so this review is simply so future renters can prepare appropriately because even though i messaged 9 days prior to arrival to confirm certain things I was a bit disappointed upon actual arrival. Just be prepared that the sofa beds may not have sheets or pillows or blankets, there is only 1 towel per amount of people that can fit in a bed (we had 6 towels for a party of 4 adults and 3 kids), the "blankets" on the beds are not blankets. They are slightly thicker than an average sheet and I had to go to family dollar and buy extra sheets, pillows, towels, and actual blankets (even though I messaged 9 days prior to our trip to confirm sofa bed would have these items and beds would have blankets). The dock was great for swimming but was covered in cob webs upon arrival...no worries we cleaned those up with the hose. The dock lights do not work (im guessing the switches are in the dock closet which is closed to tenants). If you plan to bring a boat or jet ski, be prepared that you will either not be able to use the ladder to swim OR you will not be able to see kids swimming because the boat will block them. The paddle boat and kayaks have spiders in them (daughter was bit within 45 minutes of arrival in the paddle boat) so bring spider spray and spray everything down well. The kitchen has NO spices or oil so bring those for cooking. There are 2 fridges (one in kitchen and one in the basement) the unit no longer has a counter ice maker.

Wonderful Home
We had a wonderful stay at Peyton's Landing and would stay there again. The decor was comfortable and cozy and the view can be seen from several places in the house. We loved all of the outdoor areas - hot tub, upper deck with view, fire pit, upper and lower dock and picnic table areas. It was very clean and well taken care of. We really enjoyed this home, but I can provide a couple of tips for the next group. The home is located near a very tight bridge, so if you rent a pontoon boat, you really need 2-3 people to guide the boat under the bridge to get to the main lake without damaging the boat. Also, there were things listed on the information sent that we were told were provided, but they were not there. For example trash bags and laundry detergent. It says coffee maker on the listing, but it is a Keurig so bring k cups. As others have said there is no starter kit so bring salt/pepper, etc. The house is well stocked for cooking though as far as pots and pans, utensils, etc. We also brought some extra blankets and enjoyed those when someone needed them, as it was rainy and cool when we were there. All in all we really loved the house and had a great time!
