Lacus Vitae is our family’s happy place and we want to make it yours as well! Here you’ll find a newly remodeled lakefront cottage that allows you to truly enjoy all that Lake Waccamaw has to offer. Lake Waccamaw is the largest of the natural Carolina Bay lakes with a perfect pH.
Our lakefront home is located 39 miles west of Wilmington and only 35 minutes off I-95. Lake Waccamaw State Park is 6 miles away where you will find trails to hike and learn about the plants and animals that are only found in or around the lake, the boat landing is a mile from the house and the pier is right out the backdoor where you can sip coffee as you watch a beautiful sunrise or sit back and relax. Let us make our home yours, take a vacation and relax.

Perfect place to get away for a quiet weekend. Beautiful scenery just sitting in the house looking out or sitting on the dock. Enjoyed watching the ducks, turtles, and even gators (in the canal across the street). Definitely on our list of return getaways.

Quiet, clean and good value. Kitchen was reasonably supplied with much coffee. Unexpected were no closet and no empty dresser drawers. We managed around that, as we were three adults attending a family wedding in Whiteville.

This is our favorite place to stay! Repeat guests! We love it! The view is outstanding! We spend a lot of time sitting on the dock admiring the beauty! We did notice a few minor issues like the back door feels like it is falling off the hinges, a few lights don’t work, and the ceiling fans are loose. But we definitely will be back again though !!

What a lovely place! The lake is gorgeous and the area is quiet and not touristy at all. Very relaxing. The cottage has huge windows facing the lake with gorgeous views. The dock was a wonderful place to watch the sunrise in the morning and the stars overhead at night. We would definitely like to return at a different time of year to experience the lake in another season. It's a hidden gem!

Great home on the lake!

This was a very peaceful place to stay. The lake was fantastic. We got to go kayaking and eat on the dock. Really enjoyed this place and our stay there. Thank you!

Always a pleasant stay!

This is our second stay here and we enjoyed as much as the first time. The owner is very responsive and friendly. Having easy access to the lake via a well-maintained pier is such a nice feature. Definitely a nice place to get away and relax
