Beautiful View
This property was not worth the money. When we arrived to check in there was so much confusion around how someone checks into the property. The two staff members at the front desk didn’t know what to do and finally said they would call someone else to help. We were escorted upstairs and given a tour. The floors were dirty with dust bunnies in the corners and under the couch which my college age children pointed out to me. In the hall there was two dead cockroaches. Thankfully the roaches were dead but on the penthouse floor it made me wonder how many more are there. When we went to take a shower the next day the master shower did not get hot water. We were asked to take showers downstairs in the other bathrooms and I had to explain I have elderly parents arriving and that would not work. They were able to get the hot water working on this and one of the shower heads worked great the other was broken. The beds were comfortable but the linens are inexpensive and scratchy. We used the kitchen and the pans were sticky from grease from someone else so we needed to clean before we cooked. Each time we cooked the smoke detector went off if we forgot to turn the fan on high and the ventilation was not great because the food smelled stayed. We were told not to use the towels from the room and grab beach towels downstairs and then told they did not provide any. They do not leave enough trash bags or a place to take those out. I needed to purchase cleaning supplies to clean the kitchen and paper towels because those are not provided. I did find a janitor on the property and asked for black bags. My parents ended up going home two days early because of the issues. My girls enjoyed the beach and you can rent umbrellas and chairs for $45 a day which is nice. The beach is wonderful and you can’t beat the water. The actual resort is old and not kept up and the front desk staff is rude. The communication with Brandon was okay. He does not answer his phone and will email back which takes time. Overall I was disappointed in spending over $5k and could have stayed in separate hotel rooms and had a cleaner area and more amenities and friendly staff response time. I would look around more next time. I will say the staff said the penthouse recently sold and maybe the new owner is trying this out and was unaware of these issues.
