Newly remodeled bathrooms, floors, and interior painted on March. 2024, a very spacious(~1300 sqft) condo with 2 Bedrooms + Private Den/2BA in the Ocean Park neighborhood. 4 blocks to the gorgeous Santa Monica Beach and 3 blocks to Main St shops & fine restaurants. Free Internet and 2 secured parking.

The space
Welcome! The two story suite has been newly remodeled. It has 2 bedrooms + Private Den and 2 bathrooms. It also has a cozy living room, patio, and brand new furniture and appliances. It's designed to feel like home and has that warmth of character.

Your rooms: 2 bedrooms each with a queen bed; another bedroom with two Twin beds. Each bed has duvet comforter and extra pillows. There are two private full bathrooms each with shower, tub, hair dryer, toiletry, and extra towels. Living room, dinning table and full kitchen make you feel at home. The space can comfortably accommodate 7 adults and child

Parking: two off-street, secured, underground and FREE parking spaces. If you park on the street, please make sure to read the signs because Monday is street cleaning day.

The location was perfect, walking distance to Santa Monica beach and to coffee shops. The beds were comfortable, plenty of towels, and the extra blankets were appreciated. The neighbors in the other apartments were friendly, which was a nice surprise for LA.

The location was great. On-site parking was a huge plus. It’s listed as 2 bedroom and den but is essentially a three bedroom house. Lots of space. There was a pack-n-play in the upstairs closet which was a pleasant surprise. Friendly neighbors/felt very safe. A couple of small cleanliness issues and the front door lock needs to be repaired, but owner was aware/planning to fix. I’d definitely stay here again.

The laundry was not just coin loaded but was QR code operated. That was clutch. Great place, plenty of room for everyone. Neighbors were very friendly.

I should of read ALL of the reviews, even from previous years.Not clean at all. When my feet are black from walking around bare foot, to the dust gunk on simple things that can be cleaned.The beds are HORRIBLE. My college son even agreed and he is used to sleeping in a dorm bedLocation and parking is the only good thing going for this place

Review:Overall very disappointed with our stay. This listing is very misleading and misrepresented. For starters it is an anterior apartment located in an apartment complex with no street view or access. The unit has NO air conditioning which is not clearly stated. & no ceiling fans. Justin a few box fans. It also has previously had the front door kicked in and is splintered and the door jam is blown out. I can just pull the door lock right out since it isn’t screwed in. Therefore the door lock does not line up properly and we had to spend 30 minutes trying to get it locked when we tried to leave. The front windows do not lock closed. None of the furniture or decor is the same as the photos. No rugs, dirty stained up chairs, and bare white walls. It is also in need of a good deep cleaning! Floors were dirty & oil splatters all over the kitchen backsplash and appliances. Only Pros: Communication with FJ, 5 blocks from the beach and parking spots.

Hi Theresa, We apologize for the lock issue. The group who checked out 3 hours before you jammed the lock. We made a temporary fix before we could schedule a professional to replace the lock. Now we replaced it with a new smart lock. We also updated he cover photo to reflect the new couch. Best, FJ

Great location, easy to get to everything including LAX. All rooms were very clean and comfortable. Plenty of towels in both bathrooms. Fans were provided which worked better on the 1st floor than the 2nd floor where it did get a bit warm one night. Kitchen was minimal but that was OK since we didn't plan to do any cooking. Very quiet, which was a pleasant surprise given the location.

Ocean Beach Place

This is a nice quiet apartment just a short walk from the beach. The rooms were big and the apartment was very well equipped. Close to Santa Monica and the pier, Venice Beach and all the attractions, restaurants, bars and beach activities.

Beautiful holidays

We enjoyed a lot this trip. The house was very good located. It was big and with a lot of space. The neighbourhood was very calm and peaceful. The host was very kind and very helpful. He answered very fast, that was very useful.

Property was spacious and situated a short walk from the beach. Also came with two parking spaces in a secured garage which was nice. Overall, property was nice, although it was a bit dated and could have used a deep clean, especially the floors.

Feels like home

The location is GREAT - beach is just down the hill, halfway to the beach is a wonderful strip of stores/restaurants/bars on Main...really great neighborhood feel. Check in/check out a breeze. The parking garage was an awesome perk. The condo itself was just right - needs some TLC here and there and a good DEEP clean...but hey, so does my house! SO much room in this place!

Great Location

Easy check in. Great location for all things Santa Monica: shops, restaurants & beach. Everything within walking distance. Awesome & secure parking underneath. It’s an older apartment, but both bathrooms have been renovated. The kitchen appliances are new as well. And it was very clean. It was unseasonably cold when we arrived, so the provide space heater was much appreciated for the 1st floor bedroom. Upstairs was perfectly warm on its own. This was a perfectly good base for our family of four (two teenage girls). Thanks FJ.

Some pluses, but be warned

Host was responsive, place is big, walking distance to restaurants and beach, but the beds were barely sleepable because they were so cheap and soft (especially the downstairs bed). Also they use toxic detergents to clean everything so if you’re at all sensitive to chemicals be warned. Also the house was very dirty, the floors were cold and dirty and the back patio area looked like it hadn’t been cleaned in years. Very little care went in to this place. Old cheap pots/pans, cheap couch etc. If all you care about is having 3 bedrooms and being able to walk places then it’s good for that.

Not accurate listing

I am going to leave an honest review so that others know what they are getting when they rent this VRBO. PROS: Great location near the beach, quiet and neighbourhood seemed safe, good parking CONS: NOT CLEAN, the floors, kitchen counters, and fridge were dirty, and the downstairs shower had black mold. Did not use the shower as it felt unsafe. The upstairs shower head doesn't work well and the tub doesn't drain well. Also, the listing says there is a washer and dryer, but it's not in the unit, but rather in the garage. This should have been specified more clearly in the listing. The walls were dirty with dust and cobwebs. The front window lock was broken. Overall, FJ seems like a nice owner with an easy check in and out. However, this unit needs to be CLEANED. I would not rent this VRBO listing again. Sorry, but I felt a need to be honest for others considering this rental.

A few hiccups

Our stay overall was good. It started off with we had requested an early check in. That unfortunately was not available. No big deal. We walked to the beach. But were told the host would contact when house was ready. When we hadn’t heard from him we just started making our way back to the house. It was already 30 mins after Check when we finally heard from the host. House was kinda clean. You can tell it was in dire need for a deep clean. Very dusty. Finger prints all over the stove, fridge and windows. There was dust in all corners. The work station chair was broken. There were no luggage racks in any room. The upstairs room closet to the bathroom the electric outlet was broken. The house had no AC. We had to take out our own trash and recycle. And to top it all off we felt like the host was trying to get us to check out early. Sent us messages on how they had a family coming in the next morning. We didn’t checkout early. We left at 11. I probably wouldn’t book here again.

Overall, this condo had some positives, but it didn't fully meet my expectations. The space itself was comfortable and well laid out, and the parking was excellent, which was a huge plus. Communication with the host was also great—they were responsive and easy to work with throughout the stay. However, the location was farther from Santa Monica's main attractions than I expected based on the listing. Walking to the pier, shopping, and other popular destinations was not an option. Our biggest concern was cleanliness. While a few surfaces appeared clean upon arrival, the unit overall did not feel thoroughly cleaned and could definitely benefit from more attention in this area. With improvements to the cleaning and a clearer description of the location, this could be a much better experience. The condo has potential, but there is room for improvement.

Unit needs a good cleaning

Beds were comfortable, kitchen adequate, check in easy. We are people who do not wear shoes in the house. In this house, the floors were so dirty our socks were black every day. Mold in the upstairs bathroom, some surfaces in the house were very dusty.

Nice place!

Great for our family of five. We were able to spread out in this space and have our own beds. It was a nice place to explore LA and still be close to the beach.
