Kayak Cove Cabin is on the highly desirable Spread Eagle Chain of Lakes. With being minutes from Iron Mountain, Michigan we are pleased to offer relaxing lodging while you can enjoy the many amenities of the area.

The property itself offers 2 paddle boards and 2 kayaks. Or, bring your boat and enjoy the full recreation chain of lakes. From water skiing, wakeboarding, or tubing, the lakes offer room for it all. Enjoy cooking a meal in the kitchen, provided charcoal grill, or one of the local restaurants.

Within minutes, you'll also find downhill skiing, a top-rated golf course, whitewater rafting, rock climbing, zip-lining, mountain biking, hiking, waterfalls, go-carts, hunting and fishing, and ski shows.

My family and I had a an amazing time here, we enjoyed the lake with our boat but also enjoyed the kayaks and paddle boards! Overall an amazing place to stay!

Great cabin

Very comfortable and relaxing with family. We did a lot of cooking and played bags by the lake. Sat by the fire pit one night, very nice area.

Perfect house for our fall getaway

We enjoyed staying here for our week away. House was clean and cozy. This house had everything. Loved being able to tie our boat up at the pier. We would definitely stay here again!!

Beautiful home and setting. Kid friendly. We really enjoyed our trip! Only thing that confused me was the listing stated 3 o’clock check in but it wasn’t until 4. All the conveniences for a 6 night stay.

Cozy place on the lake

We had a wonderful time staying here. The cabin was clean, cozy and spacious. The host was great at accommodating and communicating with us. We self toured waterfalls in the area during the day and made dinner, played board games and had fires at night. We will definitely be back.

Northern Piece of Paradise

If you are looking for someplace quiet, quaint, clean, and safe look no further!! This was one of the cleanest Airbnb’s my husband and I have stayed. Plenty of room, and amazing views! Owner is super pleasant and prompt to reply to messages also!

Great stay on a beautiful chain of lakes

We had a wonderful week long stay! This was our first time visiting the Spread Eagle chain of lakes, and they are beautiful! The house is situated in a very quiet bay of the West lake, and we enjoyed using the kayaks, paddleboards and the canoe to explore. We also rented a boat through Journey North, which was fantastic. We had lovely fires at night around the firepit, and had everything we needed to cook meals while we visited. This was a perfect setting for quality family time with our 4 kiddos!

Winter retreat

Our family stayed at this lovely vrbo during our son’s hockey tournament. In between games, it was a peaceful place to relax. Had a nice kitchen to prepare our own meals. Very clean, quiet, and comfortable. The kids enjoyed the puzzles. Beautiful winter landscape with a lot of natural light.

Serenity at its finest!!

Beautiful home. It worked out great for us to stay there and drive to work daily. Everything was in place when we arrived and the home was furnished nice enough for it to be our home away from home. When we had issues the owners responded quickly with a resolution! Would be a great home to come to for a summer vacation!

We will be back with our young boys.

We loved this property so much that we plan on coming back during the warmer weather so we can experience the water part of it. Our young boys really enjoyed the toys that were available which is a huge plus for us. Also having kids utensils etc was a big bonus. Loved the wood fireplace and open concept living space. Lots of sleeping options.

Peaceful Getaway

Wonderful quiet/protected spot back in corner of West Lake. House was great—and good WiFi for staying up on outside world or entertainment in evening/rainy days. We had boat with us—nice dock space—shallow area but no issues w coming/going. My son also loved the independence of taking the kayaks out to fish shallow weeds of bay on his own.

Up North Get Away

We enjoyed staying at the property. Everything was just as described. We could easily fish, swim, boat, kayak or just relax at the water within a few steps off the deck. The kitchen was well equipped and we made all our meals with zero problems. Comfortable and cozy. One need is we would have liked to have had some dressers to unpack our clothes for the week. Awesome house - wish we owned it.

Gorgeous house. You can tell that the owner cares about the reviews - there were new pots and pans and new lawn furniture - also the water pressure is insanely good (previous complaints in reviews). The only scary thing in the steep driveway - when hauling a boat trailer, be prepared to back down the driveway. This house also has spectrum internet which is a huge plus!

Family Gathering

This property was perfect for our family to stay while visiting grandparents. As mentioned on our rating, for the most part, we would give it excellent ratings. The two things I would comment on are that it only sleeps 10 not 12 as listed on the website, and that there was no water pressure to use the upstairs shower or the kitchen sink. The first level shower had just enough pressure to get the water flowing. But for our group of 10 who needed to be at an early morning service, it was an inconvenience. Overall, clean, convenient, just what we were hoping for.

You'll get kicked out if too loud

Hi, The owners sister lives next door and keeps an eye on you. My mother and family were kicked out during my great aunts 90th birthday trip because we had a party and someone shot of a firework from the dock at 12:30 am. It was loud and shouldn't have been done but it was one firework and that was it. The next day we were kicked out with 2 days left. Be forewarned if you rent this place!

Nice place!

The Kayak Cove Cabin was very comfortable and beautifully decorated! The view of the lake was amazing. We loved to have the paddle board, kayaks and canoe available for us to use since we don't have a boat. We enjoyed the cornhole/bean bag game as well. This is a great place to go for relaxation and peace and quiet on a tranquil lake. The only things that would have made our stay a bit more enjoyable is to replace the outdoor chairs around the fire pit as all of them were cracked and unusable. The kitchen could use a saucepan. The other two large pans that were there were scratched up. Not a big deal. Rachel was great to work with and responded quickly to questions. I would highly recommend this cabin!

TOTALLY WORTH IT!!!

Everything was as descirbed- actually the home was CLEANEST I have ever bee in. Our 42 pound Springer Spaniel had the thime of his life playing in the shallow water. The water toys are perfectly suited for the area and in great condition. The furniture is all very nice, comfortable and in great condition- and the beds are soft and comfortable. Kitchen has everything you could ever need or want and the store is about 8 minutes away. Communication was excellent- little issue with the reverse osmosis water unit - but the owners were on top of it and sent Culligan out asap- OH come on, they have a reverse osmosis water unit!!!- you should rent this place just because of that alone !!!! :) Would totally vacay there again if given the chance.

Wonderful family and pet friendly home

We used the house as a base to explore fishing on several UP reserviors. The house is just as it appears, very clean, spacious, comfortable, and had everything we needed for a week long stay. Owner was very responsive and a delight to interact with. House is at the bottom of a hill in a quiet area and has a nice deck overlooking a pretty bay on the Spread Eagle chain. Boat ramp to the chain is within a mile and the lakes are clean. There are multiple other beautiful fishable reservoirs within an easy 30 to 45 min drive. Recommend backing down the driveway if you bring a med to large boat as there is limited turnaround space at the house. I had no trouble backing down the long slope to the house, but backing into the driveway at the entrance from the road is more challenging after dark due to the downward change in slope.

Perfect Northwoods Escape

This property blew us out of the water from the location, the amenities, the customer service and the access to ATV trail systems! The cabin was just as described, clean, and well equipped for our stay. There was an unforseen mechanical issue and the host was immediately accessible and responsive and the issue was addressed and taken care of in an extremely timely fashion. We have no hesitation to book with them again. They were awesome to deal with! The beds were very comfortable and ample space for a party of 8-10. We were 4 adults and 4 children. My kids loved the bunk room. The kitchen was great and had everything you need to cook a full meal just like at home. The fall colors were amazing and the outdoor firepit was great! My kids want to return during warmer weather to take advantage of their awesome lake setting and the kayaks and fishing. Well done Kayak Cove! Till we meet again!

We enjoyed our long weekend very much. Despite rainy weather, we enjoyed fishing the camp fire, and enjoyed time with local family and friends.

We bought our cabin in October 2019 after looking for a couple years. We wanted a place on a clean lake where we could use our boat with our small children. We weren't expecting to stay often in the winter and didn't even spend a night in the cabin until February 2020. When March 2020 came around and our oldest was out of school and we were working from home, we decided to head north and give our cabin some love. During a week stay, we cleaned, painted, laid new floors, and enjoyed the outdoors. We did all this as a family and loved having our two sons be apart of the work. We fell in love with our cabin more than we thought we would have. In addition to spending lots of summer days at the cabin, we now enjoy all four seasons here. Lots of memories have been made at the cabin with family and friends and we are excited to offer our cabin as a place where you can make some great memories.
