Very small house, even for 4 people. No dish washer. No closet space, no hangers, and we were never able to figure out or set the thermostat. It was programmed Overall, it was nice to be close to beach but house was ok. Not a favorite in south haven

Great Stay

We had a great time enjoying downtown in the beach – both very walkable. Place was clean and cozy, and the air conditioning functional. Plenty of space to lounge and relax. Excellent location!

Hey Emily! I'm glad to hear that the location was just what you guys needed, and that the home itself was such a great fit for you guys! South Haven really is one of those wonderful vacation destinations where it's just big enough to have lots to do, but not so big you can't walk anywhere - the perfect sized vacation city! Thank you, Shores Vacation Rentals

Never once did someone call me with all the problems on this property. All AI or contracted out to a third party in Pakistan. No excuse for poor customer service when you pay this much to stay here.

Cozy cottage conveniently located

Pleasant, quiet neighborhood. Walkable to beach and town. Stocked with everything you need, clean, and comfortable. We had a couple minor issues that the management company handled immediatly. We enjoyed our stay very much.

South Haven Beach Grass Cottage

Location was great for walking to the beach, walking to shops and biking. The cottage is charming and great for 2 people but would find it a bit crowded for the 6 beds it advertises. The neighborhood was very quiet. The outside (deck, garage, porch) could use some maintenance/cleanup..

Excellent house in a great neighborhood

This property was perfectly located in a nice, quiet, neighborhood. We walked to the very large playground daily for our 5 year old son to play on. We would then walk to the beach from the playground and spend the day there. Downtown South Haven is only 5 minutes away. It was quick and easy to navigate to. There are towns with lots of activities for adults and kids within a 45 minute drive that made the stay even better. The house itself was clean and stocked with everything you need to live there while on vacation.

Vacation

The house is very cute and about a 10 minute walk to the beach. We loved the backyard deck, the front porch, and the kitchen was very nice. Overall, we enjoyed our stay. The house is small and I would not recommend 6 people to stay. It is really best for 2 adults or 2 adults with small children. The sleeper sofa was not comfortable and the bunk beds are really for young kids. The house has a slight lean to it as well. The neighborhood was quiet. Super easy drive to town. The rental agency was great and easy to work with. I would recommend using them to find rental properties.

Expected better

This property was not what we expected when we booked, especially for the price. The house was small and cramped with very low ceilings (so low my husband hit his head on the doorways). It also had a slight lean. Bedding in the master had holes and blood stains. The bathroom had a funky smell. The kitchen had a broken light. The front door was unlocked when we arrived. However, the fenced in yard was nice and we appreciated the quiet neighborhood and location. We also thought the property management’s communication of check in & out processes were great!

Hey Elizabeth, I'm so sorry to hear that you didn't love the property, and that you had so many concerning notes! We will address these concerns with the owner in the off season, as well as making sure our housekeeping crew is not utilizing out-of-service bedding, which sometimes gets left behind in the housekeeping closets. I'm so pleased to hear that there were positives to your time with us here in South Haven. We would love a second chance to show you how much better we can be, so please keep us in mind if you're ever thinking of returning to the area! Best regards, Shores Vacation Rentals

For our first time visiting Lake Michigan, Beach Grass was the perfect cottage for our family. Close to the beach and town, allowed us to walk everywhere. Cozy beds, cute back yard and the grill and beach chairs were an excellent bonus. Hope to stay here again!
