INITIAL SUPPLIES - UPON ARRIVAL
Panhandle Getaways furnishes a few essential items for guests to utilize until they can get to the grocery store. Initial Supplies include: Dishwasher soap, small washing machine powder, each bathroom has amenities (like hotel but NOT restocked) shampoo, conditioner, soap bar. One roll of toilet paper in each bathroom and one paper towel roll in the kitchen. All bed linens and towels are provided. We encourage guests to bring beach towels for use at the pool and beach.

Wonderful Experience

This was a beautiful location and very nice unit. The view was gorgeous and the beach was just minutes aways! Beautiful water, beautiful sand, cant wait to go back!

Wonderful View and Location

Loved this condo view! Well decorated and comfortable. The pool is also large enough for the condo guests which is a plus in the summer.

Overall would come back

Overall it’s a good place. Location and view you can’t beat. Unit itself needs some updating/overhauling. Some light fixtures hanging off wall, stains on floor, kitchen cabinets aren’t great, kitchen table is akward. BUT yes I’d come again. It’s worth it. Kids loved it. Negative is pool doesn’t open until9am. But can walk to beach. Can walk to eat. It’s great.

Great property

We enjoyed our stay. Condo was very nice and clean. The only thing I can complain about was one of the elevators was out of service so it would take a while to get one. Gated condo felt safe. Would return for another visit

The Sterling Shore property is always nice. This unit was a good location and kitchen was nice. Some of the furnishings and carpet were very worn. The hot water was really lacking. Everyone got cold showers.

Very nice

We enjoyed our five day stay. Travelled with my 6 and eight year old and my parents in their 70’s. Plenty of room for all. Condo was super clean and had everything we needed for the week. One downside is that the resort is huge and there was only one working elevator for the whole complex. At times even the one working elevator was out of order. Was a little unsettling and inconvenient for us as my mom is in a wheelchair. Other than that, perfect stay. Can’t beat the view and can hear the waves from the condo. Walking distance to plenty of restaurants.

Wouldn’t stay there again.

Called about the large amount of black mold in the shower was told they would take care of it and never did. Also our curtain in the livingroom was off the track and couldn’t move the one panel of curtain. Also our bedroom curtain is in a remote one side if the curtain remote the other one didn’t. The livingroom couch is sunk In and needs replaced. I do have pics if u want to see them.

Busy

The property itself was great. However, I will most likely not stay there again. It would seem that the property is located under a flight pattern for large commercial airplanes, coming and going. During our stay, we heard several police sirens, ambulance, sirens, and helicopters. And while the grounds were really nice, there seemed to be constant mowing and trimming, and the use of chainsaws trimming the palm trees, was just added noise that went on and on. It just felt extremely busy and chaotic. If you’re looking for a quiet and relaxing getaway, this is not the place. I imagine that everyone’s experience there will be different, depending on what’s happening at that time. I think I just need a place that’s a little bit more secluded, off the beaten path.

Maintenance

Needed a plunger at 11 pm to unclog toliet. called maintenance and was told no one comes to work til 7 am the next morning. I was flying out and leaving the condo by 4:50 am. We had 9 people with us trying to get ready in two bathrooms. If maintenance is not available 24/7 then each condo should have a plunger in there rooms . So we didn’t have to go to by pool to use restroom. Checking in is kind of confusing, because didn’t receive email with gate code to get in

Very Nice Destin Get-Away w/ a View

Overall, we enjoyed our stay as a group. You can't go wrong with that spectacular view from the balcony! That's really what made it worth the reservation. The beds and couch were very comfortable to sleep on. Those of us who took showers also enjoyed the water pressure and choices between the overhead shower and detachable nozzle. The laundry room was very nice and big! I will also say that another fun thing about this condo was the sound and sight of planes flying over us from time to time. These aren't commercial airplanes but propeller kinds and other smaller aircraft. The occasional sight of jets and helicopters flying along the coast was also a thrill. Another big plus was the TV in the main room. During our stay, I loaded up my Pandora account and we were able to enjoy a big variety of music stations that added to the atmosphere of our stay. As for downsides: there was a little bit of a confusion regarding the codes and, as my mother and I arrived last out of the group, we were informed about one particular code that was incorrect. However, that was cleared up with security and figured out by others in our group beforehand. We were also a little disappointed with the kitchen area not having more basic supplies on hand at the start - i.e. dishwasher detergent, garbage bags. While there could be some overall improvements with the property upkeep and condition of things, we loved the location and access to so much around us within a short drive. We would come back again!
