Newly renovated suite in historic 1800s Alto Pass Milling Co building. Private, spacious and very clean. Upstairs from new bourbon bar on Main St in Alto Pass. Part of Havisham House Property. Close to Bald Knob Cross of Peace and in the heart of the Shawnee Hills Wine Trail & Shawnee National Forest. Hiking trails all around us. Bourbon bar hours: Thu/Fri 3-10 p.m.; Sat 12-10 p.m.; Sun 11-5 p.m. Suite 18 sleeps two. One bedroom, one bathroom, full kitchen and spacious living room with couch, loveseat & cozy fireplace. Smart TVs in living room and bedroom. Across the hall from Suite 18 which sleeps six (VRBO 2698346).
There are private stairs leading up to Suite 18. There is a separate lock code for the stairs, for added security.

Loved the shower and soaking tub! We spent the day in the rain helping with a bicycle race and this was a wonderful place to return to unwind and relax.

Great location for hiking and enjoying the wine trail. The place was very clean with everything you need for a great stay. Convenient location and nice bourbon bar below.

Great apartment in a wonderful location!

If you are a lover of the wine trail and the bourbon bar this is the place to stay. The apartment was amazing, clean and well stocked! The proximity to the local wine trails and of course the bourbon bar downstairs makes it our favorite place to stay.

Awesome!

We’ve stayed at the Havisham Carriage House before while the Suites above their Bourbon Bar were being completed, the Suite was great! The Bourbon Bar is awesome as well!

Weekend getaway

We enjoyed our stay in the suite. The staff was very friendly. Their bar is well stocked with a great selection of whiskey. We attended an event at the Havisham Bourbon Bar. It was such an interesting and fun event. We toured wineries in the area also. We would love to stay here again.

Perfection!

On a whim, we booked this property that is above the bourbon bar. It’s newly renovated and is beautiful! Full kitchen, gorgeous bathroom (makes me want to renovate ours at home to match), comfy couches and bed! We were able to experience the bourbon bar, do some of the wine trail, make the trek to Heron Pond, and get our favorite pizza in the world at Quatros in Carbondale. Absolutely recommend this little gem!! Owners were excellent at communicating and making recommendations. Oh yes, you have to start your day with breakfast at the Iron Wisk in Cobden!!

Hidden Little Gem

We took the weekend to getaway, celebrate, and stay out of anything mainstream! We hit on every part of what we were looking for. The unit was extremely clean and updated with modern amenities and a historic touch. The Havisham bar located below was a blast with history, elegance, delicious drinks, and amazing people. I have traveled the world and this is now easily in my top 5 bars i have visited when putting all the little intricacies together. We were close to wineries and trails! It was a great weekend.

Cozy and Comfortable

The rental is cozy and comfortable. The apartment was pristine. There is a steep staircase to the apartment which could be troublesome for anyone with mobility issues. You do hear quite a bit of noise from the downstairs bar. It wasn't much of an issue on Friday night and the bar closes relatively early so we weren't bothered by it on Friday night. Unfortunately, Saturday night was another story. Our neighbors in the other suite were quite rowdy. They held a party in their room after the downstairs bar closed. I might stay here again, but if noise bothers you then you might want something more private such as a cabin.

Teresa, I do thank you for choosing Havisham House for your stay! We strive for 100 percent satisfaction from our guests, which is why we disclose there are stairs (for anyone who may have mobility issues), and that your lodging is above a bourbon bar, and that you can hear noise from downstairs, and that the building was built in the 1800s, before you make your reservation on VRBO. I do apologize that your neighbors in the suite across the hall were rowdy. I wish you would have called and let me know your complaint so I could have handled it at that time. My number is listed in the suite and on VRBO. I do specifically ask that each guest keep noise to a minimum out of respect for neighbors - - - this request is on the front page of our welcome sheet inside our rentals. If you do stay again, please always reach out to me directly if you have an issue, so I can resolve it immediately. Thank you Teresa.
