Make joyful memories at this unique and family-friendly place. With spacious 3 bedrooms and 2 stylish bathrooms, this beautiful house has enough space for your family to have a wonderful family holiday.

The space
The Carriage House at Heathwood Inn Bar Harbor.
This is a pet-friendly space.
This place has a Fully Equipped Kitchen, intended for guests to cook and serve meals if and when desired :)

The Carriage House has its entrance up 3 stone steps.

There are 2 levels via a spiral staircase. Living Dining Kitchen and one Bedroom with a full bathroom (small bathroom/single walk-in shower) are downstairs. There are 2 bedrooms and a HUGE full bathroom with a double walk-in shower and large spa tub on the second floor. Upstairs also has a Living area space with a Convertible bed/sofa.

Each of the three bedrooms has one queen bed and one room also has 1 twin bed. There is one 1 futon and 1 pull-out couch. So there are 6 beds, which means it comfortably fits a big family or big group of friends.

Cancellation Policy:
100% (minus a $35 non-refundable processing fee) refund if the reservation is canceled at least 60 days before the arrival date.
50% refund if the reservation is canceled at least 30 days before the arrival date.

Perfect stay for a trip to Acadia

We were looking for a quiet place to stay while we took a short road trip to Acadia and found it here. It was a short trip to the park, Bar Harbor, and plenty of restaurants. The hosts were very helpful and it was a real pleasure staying there.

Beautiful stay in Maine

We had a lovely stay at the carriage house! The house is very clean, warm and inviting. We brought our dogs and they were also very comfy.

The house was very clean and spacious, would definitely recommend for families or group of friends great location close to park entrance and short drive to downtown Bar Harbor and Acaida boat tours which was very enjoyable and informative.

Weekend in MDI

Stayed for a weekend. The property was useful and had a nice sized kitchen. Comfy beds. We had no problems.

Nice place good location

The property was nice with a good location if you did not want to be right in town. Easy driving to all locations. A couple of issues 1- ants in window Bay Area 2- no basics like coffee. 3- no ac unit in 3rd bedroom

Cute carriage house

It’s an old carriage house close enough to Bar Harbor but also far enough that it’s quiet and peaceful. Inside decor, especially upstairs was neat and my kids loved the spiral staircase. Furniture and appliances were clean, and appeared newer. The bottom bedroom however had a musty smell that may aggravate those with respiratory conditions.

Adequate

The host is amazing: responsive and very kind. But the property is not a stand alone cottage and people kept opening our door throughout our stay. We felt we had to constantly keep the door locked and even when it was locked, people were typing in codes to the door pad and/or knocking. Having a 1 yr old on the premises was also difficult as there is a very steep spiral staircase to get upstairs.

Hi Kim, We are very sorry to hear about it. This is very very rare, we are very surprised and we have done thorough investigation and taken measures to rectify it and prevent it from happening again. The house is A STANDALONE house as you can see in the picture. It is not attached to any other property. We had some system issues when the guests of the Inn next door received photos of this cottage rather than the Inn building photo, which we believe is the main reason that may have created this confusion last time. We have been running this property for a while and this incident is quite rare, we have taken every action to make sure it does not happen. Our Guest’s safety, security and comfort is our priority. We renovate this house every off season and make changes based on guests’ feedback. We have now rectified that photo issue and put proper signage, so Inn guests are not confusing this cottage as Inn. I hope you had a wonderful holiday. Thank you for staying with us.

Cottage review

Cute cottage and met our needs. The refrigerator in the cottage needed tech support, as the refrig would not keep cold. Additionally, the refrig ice maker was not working and a counter ice maker was available - thing is, it would not make enough ice for a family of 7, meaning we had to buy ice. Overall though, for the three nights we were there, the cottage served our needs and I would recommend it.

Very nice but…:

Didn’t help having fire alarm go off three times during the night at 12am. 1:30 am and 4:47 am despite having never turned on a stove or an oven.
