Wild and wonderful West Virginia

Experience the ultimate mountain getaway at the Potomac River Retreat!

This quite country cottage is nestled in the mountains of Springfield WV with lots of luxury accommodations. The home boasts 3 tastefully decorated queen bedrooms and two bathrooms. High quality linens, towels, and wash cloths are provided. Come and cozy up in front of one of the two fireplaces. There is a wood burning fireplace in the main entrance living room, the rear living room has an electric fireplace and adjoins a stunning dining room that seats 12. There are 4 extra-large windows in the living room / dining room area to enjoy the breathtaking mountain views and wildlife. The kitchen is fully stocked with everything you may need for preparing a meal. Plates, silverware, pots and pans, microwave, toaster, and a mixer. There is salt, pepper, and lots of other spices and condiments available as well. There is both a traditional coffee pot as well as a Keurig. Coffee, sugar and creamer and snacks are provided as well! There is also a gas grill (propane is provided) and BBQ utensils.
Please let us know if you will be traveling for a special occasion!
There are extra sheets and blankets inside the bedroom closets and a blow up mattress if needed. Towels and wash clothes are inside of the hallway bathroom closet. Toilet paper and paper towels are provided. There is also hair dryer located in the bathroom closet.
There are two smart TV’s, one in the living room and one in the master suite. There is WIFI, however it is spotty. Enjoy the star gazing and the refreshing mountain air in front of the large fire pit with plenty of seating. Wood is provided and stacked on the front porch and on the property grounds for your stay. There is lighter fluid and a lighter under the kitchen sink. Relax and unwind in the hot tub located in the gazebo at the back of the property next to the creek that leads to the South Branch of the Potomac River, just a short walk away. Escape and enjoy the majestic mountains of almost heaven West Virginia!

Security camera disclosure- There are two home security cameras on the outside of the property. One on the privacy fence facing the front of the home and one on the rear shed facing the back of the home.

Great house for a girls weekend

Host was fantastic, very responsive and spared no expense trying to make our stay enjoyable. House was clean and had everything needed. Would definitely recommend staying here!

Just Wonderful

Very good stay. Everything was in order and well stocked. Would stay there again and again. Even the birthday "surprise" to celebrate our Friend's birthday was terrific; fresh flowers and birthday card; very impressive. Thanks to all who manage and support this house; everything was really great.

West Va Weekend

In Springfield for family B day party The 3 bedroom home was large enough for 6 adults The kitchen was fully stocked with dishes,pots and pans and even spices. The property was large and has a detached porch with hot time which backs to a stream. This house was perfect for our needs.

Very cute house. Loved the Christmas decorations and personal touch of gifts under the tree. Very well stocked kitchen. Instructions were clear and easy to follow. Great trip.

Nice getaway

We had a wonderful time at Kimberly’s River home! The house was perfectly decorated with attention to every detail. The river was a short walk away and our family rented a golf cart from Ft Ashby Hardware to make it even easier to get around. Kimberly was so attentive and willing to help when we needed an itemized receipt. I will definitely be back for another relaxing trip!

Had a lovey time in this Gem hidden home off river Potomac

Took my mom boys and brother to fish, swim, and relax. House was fully equipped with all your needs and then some. The decor bedding washer/dryer and beautiful hot tub room was a perfect retreat from city life. Five min walk to the Potomac river, 10 min drive to food/beer. Had a lovely time looking forward to booking with the host again she was friendly and quick to respond!

Peace and quiet

Thoroughly enjoyed waking up every morning. To hot tub and birdsong. The house was quaint and inviting, and had almost everything you might need. Outdoor areas could use some tidying up and the neighborhood is a little hillbilly, but had a truly enjoyable stay. Gave me a small taste of what I am hoping for in retirement.

My family and I had a great stay - A wonderful location and comfortable rooms. The hot tub is a nice touch in the back. I love being able to explore nature, far away from cell phone reception.It wasn't obvious how/where to use the kayaks, so we left them alone, but the water was moving too fast to use with children anyway. Also, I highly recommend carefully following directions with the toilet - The signs are very helpful! Septic systems are very sensitive.Overall, my family had a great time and we would love to return.

Wild and Wonderful WV Trip

Love the location and the house layout! Decor was really nice and loved that we had a kitchen with the ability to cook. Recommend dish and hand towels. Plenty of towels and comfy beds! Enjoyed the surrounding area and the view of the mountains. Front porch was great for relaxing with a cup of coffee or reading a book. Enjoyed the wildlife while spending time outside. It was peaceful and the hot tub was perfect with the screened in area. Does need a spring cleaning in some areas, but otherwise it was good.

Couple's Getaway

This property was clean, modernly decorated and well furnished/supplied. It would sleep 6 but it is small. We were just the 2 of us and it was good. Like someone else said in their review, the neighborhood is not visually nice but the rental property itself is nice. We enjoyed our stay and enjoyed the hot tub. For an issue we had, the owner responded very promptly.

Was OK

The house was ok and as advertised. The neighborhood is not very nice but that is not the owners fault. Otherwise everything was there that was supposed to be and the owner was good at communication. The house was a little musty when we first arrived but that went away. Also, the owner was very accommodating when I had to cancel the first time and gave me 100% refund even though they didn't have to. Then I rebooked at a later date.

Hidden Gem

Great property! It was very comfortable with all the amenities we needed and more. We used the kayaks to do 3 hours of kayak fishing from the bridge a few miles down the road back to where the property is located. Great stretch of river! Will definitely return!
