Cozy 1-bedroom in Bauer Terrace next to Citadel

One bedroom apartment in a town house built in 1845, just 15 mins walk to the Halifax Waterfront. Located in a heritage area, one block from Citadel Hill and the Halifax Commons. A diverse, artistic and friendly residential neighbourhood in the centre of Halifax.

The apartment is very warm and bright and features stone and brick accent walls, a well equipped kitchen and a high quality queen sized bed and an en suite bedroom.

The whole apartment is open to our guests and exclusively for your use.

This low-rise, heritage controlled neighbourhood has many fitness resources (outdoor roller/ice skating oval, Olympic size swimming pool, bouldering cafe). There are lots of good cafe's and restaurants nearby. There is a craft brewery, artisanal delicatessen and many artist run galleries and shops nearby. And nothing in downtown Halifax is more than a comfortable walk away so the list of things to do includes deep sea fishing, whale watching and sailing cruises on the Halifax Waterfront, theatre, live music, pubbing and clubbing in the downtown and lots of shops and restaurants catering to a wide range of interests and tastes. Halifax is home to six universities and so has a large and vibrant student scene (closest is NSCAD our fine arts university - so many artists reside in the area). The house is located in an urban residential neighbourhood, which is diverse, friendly, colourful, generous and accepting of others.

The house is located within a two minute walk to major bus routes 1,6,7 and 10. The train/bus station is a 20 minute walk away but there are several city bus lines passing on Gottingen Street (a couple minutes walk away) and the airport bus stops at nearby hotels (~10 minute walk). Casino Taxi and Yellow Cab are usually very quick to pick you up from the house to get where you need to go.

We don't have cable TV but we provide access to Netflix. We provide towels, bed sheets and blankets, kitchen towels, toilet paper, soap, shampoo and all cleaning supplies.

Parking is available with prior agreement in the on-premise parking lot. Parking spaces are limited so please let us know if you need parking.

I really liked it . That part of Halifax is really interesting with a lot of History too. It is also a great neighbor hood to walk around in . There is a lot of interesting cafe's . Close to everything .

Nice and cozy place, right in the heart of Halifax

Great location, nice and clean, couldn’t get much closer to all the action of downtown Halifax if you tried. Could throw a stone from the door to the Citadel (with a good arm and the wind on your side). Short walk anywhere. Great place, would stay again.

Loved this location, close to all amenities of down town Halifax. Kevin was excellent to deal with always answered promptly. I would highly recommend this location to anyone visiting the Halifax area.

Very nice place to visit Halifax by walk. Many things to do and discover around with family. The host Kevin was very kind. He answered quickly and was clear with us for all information about the place.

Cozy and Convenient

Our stay here was great. The host communicated regularly and timely. The place is indeed cozy and it's location was perfect for our exploration of Halifax. We had a short walk to the Citadel, a beer garden is right around the corner, and plenty of food options nearby. Room also came with a parking space right out the door.

Long Weekend in Halifax

Very happy with the apartment. Great location, walking distance to Waterfront. Great communication with the owner. Please note this property would not be suitable for anyone with mobility challenges.

Convenient Location

Our stay was pleasant due to the location being close to our family and to downtown Halifax. Any needs were addressed quickly by Kevin. It should be noted that the property is not accessible to those with mobility challenges. There are 5 steps down to enter and 1-2 steps up to the kitchen and bathroom.

This property was very dirty, bathroom full of mold in the shower and roof, splatter on the mirror, 4 almost empty shampoos bottles left by previous occupants. Fridge was also dirty with old coffee and old bags of ice cubes in freezer. Dead flies, spiders and spiderwebs. Clearly has not been cleaned properly for a long time. Good location. But would not recommend.

The location makes it!

The property has everything you need - lots of space for 4 people with 2 on the sofa bed. The location is fantastic so that you can walk to many places in central Halifax - just 2 blocks from the Citadel. Kevin, the owner, was more than helpful and accommodating. He lives close by so was able to help with every request. The place was freshly renovated so a couple of small things were missing - but not for long! Thank you Kevin for making our stay so pleasant
