Apartment located in the heart of Essex directly across from the Essex Historical Society and Shipbuilding Museum. Enjoy this private first floor apartment in a owner occupied home with common yard space. Just steps away from many of Essex’s finest restaurants including Woodsman’s where the fried clam was invented. Essex is also known for its great antiquing, don’t forget to stop into Sea Meadow for local gifts and treasures.

It was all rather perfect and quite frankly, well above the expectation. Not that the expectation was low but this facility was so much higher. The location was perfect and accessible to the sites we wanted to see. The host was most gracious and willing to assist in any way.

Enjoyed staying here. Short drive to Salem. Suited us perfectly as 2 friends traveling together. We each had our own rooms which are on opposite ends of the house. Quiet safe neighborhood. We are at The James, able to walk there easily. Host was awesome.

Amazing place! Very cozy and comfortable. Location is perfect for exploring the small coastal towns near by or a little further out (Boston, Portsmouth). The town itself has amazing places to eat! Hope to stay here again!

What a great place to stay! We love Essex and this was perfect. Right in the heart of everything. So clean, comfortable and cutely decorated. Loved the outside area & seating. Bree & Dan were great and very informative about the area. Would definitely stay here again.

Beautiful Home

Property was very comfortable and clean. Owners were very nice. Loved the outdoor area where I ate dinner each night and looked at the water and boats and people going by. A nice retreat.

Beautiful historuc home located on Main St. Easily walk to local businesses. Centrally located to Gloucester, Salem ,Ispwich and Crane Beach. Loved 😍

Fun with Friends

Very close to Salem. We thought the town was very Quaint and felt that this was a town rich in history. The house had a great view of the shipyard Muesum and water. The hosts were wonderful and answered all our questions. Loved the touch of coffee and half and half, M&M's and water in the refrigerator..

Super clean and spacious!

We really enjoyed our stay in Essex and Bree and Dan were great hosts. The apartment is really large, with enough room for us to spread out. We enjoyed eating on the patio outside, the cookware was the best of any VRBO we’ve stayed at, and once we learned the trick- the shower pressure was amazing too! Gloucester, Salem and Boston are easy to get to, and there were great restaurants and a brewery in easy walking distance. Bree and Dan welcomed us as guests.

This rental was billed as a sanctuary and it delivered! Bree and Dan could not have been more accommodating and the location is spectacular. 5 stars!

Perfect home for sisters weekend! Plenty of space. Wonderful area, 30 minutes to Salem , less than an hour to Boston. Host had extras upon our arrival. No issues with communicating with host.

Location location location

It was great! Location was perfect and walkable to many restaurants. The apartment was very comfortable and the owners were so nice and great to deal with. The little touches they did were perfect like coffee, cream for coffee, bottled water and snacks. And odds and ends we might have forgotten like toothpaste, soap etc. they even had a binder of local restaurants and things, to check out.

Alyssa’s Birthday weekend

We came in for my friend’a birthday and head to Salem during the day. We found this adorable and perfect New England style home right on the edge of the river. Every morning was a pretty view of the water and marina. Cute backyard, clean and comfortable on the inside, with plenty of room for all 4 of us. We had a really nice time at River’s Edge and want to come back soon! We loved that it’s a walk to the restaurants in town as well!

Absolutely Fabulous

My daughter and I were in town for my son’s wedding and we only stayed two nights, but I cannot say enough positive things about the location about BreeAnn about the accommodations. Everything was top notch. The best Vrbo experience I have had.

Perfect home base for trip to the north shore

My husband and I had a fantastic stay in Essex at Bree and Dan’s place! First off, Bree and Dan were super responsive, helpful, hospitable, and warm - they gave us great recommendations for things to do in the area. Their place is perfectly situated in the middle of everything Essex has to offer - walking distance to restaurants, coffee shops, ice cream (very important), shopping & antiquing, museums, brewery, natural beauty, etc. The home has views of the river, is spacious and clean, and has amazing New England charm. The outdoor space is lovely. All in all, we had a perfect visit to Essex thanks to Bree and Dan! Thanks so much.
