Summary:

Need to getaway? Need an absolutely stunning view? Cabin on a hill in the woods sound about right? Then escape at the Ideal Retreat with a gorgeous view, private hot tub, and outdoor fire pit. Sit in the hot tub after enjoying a day in town and relax while enjoying the sounds of well absolutely nothing but the wildlife. It just doesn't get any more private than this. The view and entire property are completely private. Managed by Heavenly Hosts



The Space:

Getaway from it all yet be just 8 miles from the heart of Fredericksburg. Professionally cleaned and sanitized after each reservation!



- If you're interested in booking an additional cabin, we also have a second cabin available called Robin's Nest, which accommodates an additional 2 guests and located less than 15 ft away from Foxview cabin. Feel free to reach out to us for more information!



BURN BAN EFFECTIVE - Gillespie County Burn Ban is ON, effective October 14, 2025 at 5:00 PM.: Attached please find a local DECLARATION OF DISASTER & ORDER RESTRICTING OUTDOOR BURNING related to imminent threat of wildfires. Restrictions: NO open fires/burning and NO smoking.

As a result, outdoor wood-burning fire pits are NOT permitted. This mandate is enforced by the city and county and is beyond our control. You are welcome to use Gas fire pits and BBQ grills, if applicable. For charcoal grills, please leave all hot coals in the grill to cool completely, we will handle proper disposal. Please review the property listing to confirm the type of fire pit and grill available, if applicable. If it is discovered that the fire pits/chimineas/outdoor fireplaces were used or wood was burned during your stay, a fine starting at $100 will be applied. This is a serious fire safety issue, and we kindly ask that you comply with all city-mandated regulations. Thank you for your understanding!



Guest Access:

Guest will have access to the Foxview Cabin and are able to walk the entire hill. The view is completely yours.



Getting Around:

Cabin is outside Fredericksburg but we do offer Luxury Private Transportation Services, please reach out to us directly for details and scheduling!



Other Things to Note:

- Smoking is strictly prohibited both inside and outside the cabin due to the high fire risk posed by the dry area.



- This property is not suitable for children/infants.



- This property is not pet friendly.



- Pest Control is scheduled quarterly. Due to the house being in the hill country, you will encounter critters. This is common even with pest control treatments.

It was a nice stay!

The cost of the stay is worth it because of the view and the hot tub. It is a very small place with the bathroom by the front door. The couch and furniture need updating, they aren’t particularly comfortable. If you are looking for a private area with great views, this place is a good option.

Lovely cabin with beautiful views

So quiet and private. Great getaway from the bustle and chaos of our life with young kids. Happy to leave them with Grandma and spend some quiet time relaxing by the fire with good wine and gorgeous views! We will be back ASAP!

Amazing wildlife!

Absolutely amazing location super close to main street but still isolated. I had fun watching animals from the balconies like the cows, foxes, and deer. Also tons of birds, I saw a lot of cardinals. Lovely little cabin that really felt like staying in a hotel. Just a lovely area to be in any time of the year and an amazing get away spot.

Amazing property

This was our second time staying at this hilltop getaway. We loved stargazing from the hot tub, as well as watching some brilliant sunrises and sunsets from the deck and/or hot tub. We enjoyed a couple of fires in the fire pit, and were able to gather plenty of wood from around the home. The bed was quite comfortable and the kitchen was well stocked. We’re looking forward to staying again in the spring.

Scenic View

Beautiful rural scenic view. Quiet - no neighbors. Short drive to town. Had to travel dirt road access to home so make sure your car can handle it - go slow to avoid bottoming out if driving a sedan style vehicle.

It was quiet and peaceful in a country setting. Hot tub was nice along with view from the deck. Nice cabin. Comfortable bed. A little more remote on top of a hill after traveling down an extensive gravel road. This was a little unexpected at first, but it was OK. It would be nice to have a bird feeder or hummingbird feeder there by the deck for future guests because we saw several and it would have been nice for them to stick around. Cabin was nicely decorated and had great amenities. We enjoyed our stay. Thank you.

True Therapy

This cabin is located in the heart of what I call Gods Country. If there was a 6th star I would give them 10!! I’m a combat veteran that needs time to clear my mind at least once a year and we have chosen this place twice, both within a month apart. My wife and I love this location and how perfect the cabin is set up for anything you need and want. Hosts were very responsive to our questions and made our time completely effortless. Can’t beat the views in the hot tub either. You will NOT be disappointed.

Hilltop Haven

The only regret I have booking this location is not staying longer! From the moment I walked in, I had the biggest smile on my face - Foxview Cabin surpassed my expectations from the first moment. I found solitude after a week on the road in this rare gem nestled on a hilltop overlooking a valley populated by cows, deer, turkey and not another human in sight. I immediately headed to the hot tub to relax overlooking "my valley" and it only got better from there. The location is well appointed, wifi was reliable (except during a storm but it came right back) and I spent most of my time on the beautiful deck overlooking the valley. It was so quiet, I slept like a rock on the very comfortable bed each night. Definitely adding Foxview to my list of places to return to.

Not enough stars for this listing. Wife and I go away for a few days and we found this gem. Secluded location with views out of this world. Cabin was perfect for us 2. Booking again here soon.
