While solar energy is the primary source of energy for the hot water heater it does have the ability to switch to regular electricity. Thank you for mentioning that, we will check into it. During your four-night stay, we remained in communication and did not receive any complaints regarding roaches, cleanliness, the roads, or any other issue until approximately three hours before your scheduled departure. Had we been notified earlier, we would have welcomed the opportunity to address any concerns during your stay. Upon receiving your message, we responded immediately and arranged for a licensed pest control company to inspect the property. The inspection was completed shortly after your departure and found no evidence of a roach infestation. Nonetheless, the property was proactively treated as a precaution, and the inspection report was provided to VRBO. We also responded promptly to all communications from VRBO regarding this matter. As disclosed in our listing, the villa is located on a mountainous Caribbean island where steep roads are common. Guests are encouraged to review the property description and location details before booking to ensure the setting is a good fit for their travel preferences. Like all properties in tropical climates, occasional insects can sometimes be encountered despite regular professional pest control services. We work diligently to maintain the highest standards of cleanliness and maintenance and have never previously received a pest-related complaint. Thank you for your feedback. We are sorry your stay did not meet your expectations. Because this review contains several inaccuracies, we would like to provide additional context for future guests. Our villa is located in the Caribbean, where tropical insects can occasionally appear despite regular professional pest control. Early in your stay, you reported ants and a single roach. We immediately offered to have our licensed pest control company inspect and treat the property. You declined that offer, stating it was not necessary, and instead requested a can of insect spray, which we promptly provided. Later in your stay, you reported seeing what you believed to be a mouse in the kitchen. This was the first report of its kind we have ever received at the property. We immediately requested permission for our licensed pest control company to enter and inspect the villa. Access was not granted until your final day. Within approximately 12 hours, the property was thoroughly inspected, monitoring traps were placed, and the pest control company returned daily over the next three days. They found no evidence of mice, rats, or a roach infestation, and the monitoring traps remained empty. Despite describing an "infestation," no photographs or other documentation were ever provided to support the claims, and we were not given the opportunity to investigate until the end of the stay. Without evidence or timely access to the property, we could not verify the concerns while you were occupying the villa. As for the ants, they are a common part of tropical island living, particularly during the dry season when they seek food and water. Even well-maintained homes receiving routine professional pest control can occasionally experience this. We take every guest concern seriously and respond promptly. In this case, we offered professional assistance immediately on more than one occasion, and our licensed pest control company's inspection found no evidence of the infestation described in this review. We remain committed to providing a clean, comfortable villa and encourage future guests to consider our long history of positive reviews, which reflect the experience of the overwhelming majority of our guests.
