Welcome to 'The Shady Oyster'!

Recently remodeled with brand new fishing dock, this beautifully decorated 3BR/3BA Bayfront home sits quietly among the oaks and pines for the ultimate private escape with views of the Apalachicola Bay. Hardwood floors throughout with tiled bathrooms, this home is the perfect spot for your romantic getaway or family vacation.

The comfortably furnished living room features a large, flat screen Smart TV (sorry, fireplace not available) and opens onto the furnished Bayfront screened-in porch with porch swing, additional seating and dining table for the ultimate in Southern relaxation.

The well-equipped kitchen features new kitchen cabinets, countertops and stainless-steel appliances and bar seating for 3. The cozy dining table seats 4.

A King bedroom can be found just beyond the kitchen, with access onto the Bayfront screened porch and hall bathroom with tub/shower.

The upstairs bedroom features a King bed and twin trundle bed (2 twins) with private bathroom and treetop views. The private bathroom has plenty of counterspace and a combination tub/shower. This large bedroom suite is open to the stairwell below.

The laundry/storage room located on the ground level has been completely remodeled and now includes a "mother-in-law" suite with 2 queen sized beds and an additional full bathroom with walk-in shower. The laundry center conveniently includes a 2nd full sized refrigerator, 12-cup coffee maker, microwave and washer/dryer. (Pictures coming soon)

The large, spacious yard is bordered by sweeping Magnolia trees and natural vegetation with front row seats for every Florida sunset on the brand new, private fishing dock with bench seating.

Up to 2 allowed 35lbs or less with advance approval for a $150 + tax pet fee. Please inquire.

Beautiful home with a great view of the bay and gorgeous sunsets every night. The fish were biting and the dolphins put on more than one show. We had everything we needed and really enjoyed our stay. Will be back!

Great location

This was a wonderful place to stay for our girlfriend weekend. It was the perfect location between Apalachicola and St. George Island. The home and property were beautiful and very relaxing.

We ran across this one at the last minute and it was great! So great we plan to stay here more in the future! It's absolutely beautiful. Being able to sit on the dock and see the sunsets were my favorite! Sitting on the screened in porch was very relaxing. We can't wait to stay again! A pool would be a great addition for this house! My kids truly enjoyed it but they were hoping we would have a pool where we stayed! I have to add that everyone I talked to from forgotten Shores properties were extremely nice and so much help! Thank you guys so much!

We enjoyed the location, comfort and cleanliness of this home. Comfortable beds, beautiful view of the bay and close to the beach and Apalachicola. Great place to relax

Very nice property. No issues at all except that the trash can was full. Emailed the priperty managers and they came and emptied it enough ti last us the week. Kids loved the fishing dock and we got to see several dolphins. Overall a great property

Only issue for us was the stairs- hard on us and the dogs Dock needs guardrails- that direct drop is dangerous Need grab bar on outside of tub for help getting out in Bath upstairs Both towel holder and toilet paper holder were loose in upstate bath But, beautiful house in a great location. Gorgeous sunsets. So easy to get to both Apalachicola or SGI!

Lake House on the Bay

Enjoyed our stay! View and dock is amazing. I loved dog bowls in place for dogs. Dogs are not allowed on furniture or beds. Dishes have to be put back, so I wasn’t confident of cleanliness. Leaving dishes in dishwasher is an incentive for guests to use it. Garbage had to be pulled to the street. Loved that I could check in early!

The property was perfectly situated between St. George Island and Apalachicola. We had waited until the last minute to rent not knowing our exact dates to be in the area. We normally rent on the island; however, with the holiday weekend, it was close to impossible. This house fit the bill for us perfectly. It was newly renovated, the furnishings were new, and the view from the new dock was gorgeous. The only drawbacks were the dock was too high and the water too shallow for a boat. It was a lovely stay.

The house is very comfortable, clean,wonderful back yard and the view cannot be beat. The sunsets we enjoyed were terrific. The kitchen very nice and well stocked with necessary tools.The location great with easy access to St George Island and Apalachicola both.The upstairs bed was the most comfortable. Eating breakfast on the screened porch was delightful. We would suggest they add hooks in the bathrooms for bathrobes etc.Thanks to the owners for even leaving water and food dishes for our dog!She loved the beach!

Anniversary Getaway

We were celebrating our 44th anniversary and decided to go away for a few days. We found this property hoping to do a little fishing but Mother Nature had other ideas. The heat made it difficult for the air conditioning to keep up during the day; the nights were better but it took a while to cool down. The house was immaculate and the appliances were all brand new. Also the house was fully stocked with every accessory for cooking. The only thing that really bothered us was the tv situation. Couldn’t figure out how to get regular channels only could get what was on Samsung Plus. Small inconvenience but somewhat annoying nevertheless. Would recommend this property for anyone not needing to put a kayak in the water or didn’t need to watch a lot of tv.
