Big Sunny Family House

Big family house, centrally located in Historic old town. Walking distance to several cafes, restaurants, shops. 5 min to Skyline Caverns and 5 min to Shenandoah National Park. 7 min to canoe, kayak rentals. Perfect for large families who want to be close to nature but want to go to dinner in town or eat at home. We have a dining room table that will fit the entire family and a living room comfortable for the whole family. Anyone who has trouble with stairs will appreciate the bedroom downstairs with a full bathroom. There is a ramp out back and one stair will get you in the house.

Great house and great location for anyone looking to spend time in Front Royale! Stayed with 8 people and everyone had a space for their own!

This home has everything a family or group of friends would need to enjoy their time in Front Royal. Having stayed in many short-term rental properties in the area for quite a few years, this one stands out as the best in terms of quality of the home and appointments, location, and cost. Joy and Patrick even went to the extent of decorating the home for Christmas (including a full-height tree) for our stay over the holidays. I hope to have the opportunity to stay here again.

The kitchen and bathrooms had all the essentials plus extra toothbrushes The beds were comfortable The downstairs bedroom was cold and drafty, but extra blankets helped with that

The property was exactly as advertised but better. Patrick and Joy thought of everything! We really enjoyed the fire pit and the huge table that fit all of us. Parking was ample as our group had five cars (sometimes six or seven). VERY comfortable beds and we even managed to juggle seven people in two baths. All in all, the best B&B I’ve ever stayed in.

It is a beautiful place. You feel right at home the moment you enter. The rooms are spacious and very clean. It is just blocks away from the historic city of Front Royal and we walked twice up to wander through the streets and shops. It was perfect for us.

DC-VA Family Trip

Loved the house, plenty of room for the family. Loved having family dinners at the giant dining room table. Had out of state family visiting VA who wanted to see DC and the Shenandoah Valley so the location worked out great. I would definitely rent the house again.

Spacious house

House is spacious and well stocked. We enjoyed being close to Luray caverns, Shenandoah park, and kayaking the river. Would recommend and stay again.

Lovely home

We enjoyed our stay at the big sunny family house. There was plenty of room for all of us! The parking in the back of the house was especially nice so we didn’t have to back out onto the busy road in the front driveway.

Relaxing Stay

The entire family loved the layout of the house. It felt so comfortable and inviting. I especially loved the little “reading room” off to the side of the dining room. My wife loved the decor.

Beautiful!

The house was a beautiful, old farmhouse house. There were notes all around, giving clear guidance on where things were located. It was very clean and beautifully decorated. My favorite part was the large dining room table that allowed everyone to sit down and eat together. I would definitely stay there again.

Great thanksgiving getaway

This house is a larger house that would be absolutely perfect for a thanksgiving dinner. There is a huge dining room table that could seat probably 16 comfortably. We really appreciated the comfortable bedrooms and beds with plenty of extra pillows and blankets. As a small family we loved being able to spread out and chill after hiking at Shenandoah, which is minutes away.

Great home with all the little touches

Clean house with lots of space! Well stocked with all the necessities and little added extras that made for a wonderful stay for girls weekend! There were 4 of us and we had more house than we needed but loved it because we all had our own bedroom. Owners are very responsive. We had no issues and will definitely be back! Walking distance to town with shopping, restaurants, and wineries.short drive to hiking trails and more wineries!

Great house in a great location

This was a girls’ trip for a homesteaders conference. We enjoyed the spacious living spaces; the pictures just don’t give them justice. We had meals around the large dining table, then moved into the large living room for further conversation and fellowship. The bedrooms were great also. The neighborhood hosts several restaurants and coffee shops. Just a great experience!

Solheim Cup 2024

Six lady golfers stayed at Big Sunny and traveled to Gainesville to attend the Solheim Cup. We golfed at Shenandoah Valley Golf Course. We enjoyed the house very much. It had everything we needed. It was well supplied with all the extras! Nice to be in walking distance to restaurants and shops.
