Experience a beach getaway in our bright and stylish renovated bungalow-style studio near Downtown San Diego. Our studio is situated behind an iconic Craftsman home and features an open floor plan, beamed ceilings, queen size bed with a custom surfboard headboard, and a backyard patio with 2 lounge areas to enjoy some drinks. We are centrally located 1 block away from the freeway and the Naval base and 10 minutes away from the local sunny San Diego scene - breweries, restaurants, and attractions.

PLEASE NOTE:
The studio is in the back of a multi-unit property - the driveway, carport and laundry are shared.

The narrow width of the driveway and carport may require some additional attention while driving in and out, therefore we only allow compact cars. It's important to note that there might be limited space for turning around, so if you have any concerns about parking or access, please contact me for further guidance.

Also note that this building is comprised of 2 back-to-back studios. While each studio is private and has its own separate entrance, they share a common wall and laundry area.

Rest assured, I strive to make your stay as convenient as possible. I understand that the narrow dimensions might not be suitable for everyone, particularly if you have a larger vehicle or are not comfortable with tight parking situations. However, if you're willing to accommodate these items, this private studio offers a comfortable and convenient home base for your visit.

Avoid this property. I moved to VRBO after a similar experience with a competitor's property. I did not do research. National City is down scale compared to San Diego. Navigating to the property, a block away, we saw three sex workers standing by a liquor store just down from a smoke shop. Streets and sidewalks were riddled with cracks. There are bars in the windows on most houses on the block. We parked to find the property. An indoor carpet was torn near the entrance. What appeared to be rodent droppings covered it. I sat on the furniture to call the owner. It was covered in dust and urban grime. Dogs behind the neighboring fence were barking. My daughter and I both voted to leave. We stayed in a San Diego hotel for 60 percent of the price. VRBO, please vet properties and audit them.

Worse stay

We were unable to check in and had an incredibly disappointing experience. Upon arrival, we found a dead cockroach in the room, which was unacceptable. There were also major plumbing issues—there was no hot water for a shower—and the air conditioning didn’t work at all during our stay. On top of that, a dog was barking nonstop throughout the day, making it impossible to relax. When I brought all of this to the host’s attention, she said she would issue a refund but was unhelpful and clearly struggled to figure out how to process it. The whole situation was extremely frustrating and unprofessional. Now I’m fighting with cc to get my refund since VRBO customer service is beyond terrible as well.

Comfortable place

The neighborhood is a bit sketchy for walking the dog. Once the car was in the carport and the door closed behind us it was a very nice place to be. No gate to keep the dog in the patio/yard area. Weird valves in the shower, I never did figure it out…

Wonderful host!

Rosy was an excellent host! We had hiccups with our travel schedules, causing us to arrive a different times, and she was excellent in helping to make things as smooth as possible as we checked in and checked out. Very cute little unit. Worked great for what we needed for our weekend getaway.

We had a lovely time!

Perfect little nook for a mom and her daughter and her daughter’s best friend. We loved the cute quirkiness of the place, and the ease of checking in and the location close to where we needed to be. Would recommend to anyone looking for a quick getaway!

Cute, but loud.

Owner was very communicative, the inside was very cute and clean. The outside wasn't cleaned up and the cleaners have access to the private patio (so not so private) where the washer and dryer are located. Also, if you have dogs, there is an open entry, so you will need to bring a gate. The neighbors dog is out all day and likes to bark, so don't expect to sit out on the patio. Easy access to the freeway.

The outside space was ok, but inside was nice. The bed was comfortable. There is an annoying dog next door. Great location for attending a conference at the convention center (parking included)

Nice studio

The studio was really clean, well equipped, confortable for 3 adults. Easy access to the 1-5. The Host kept us well informe & reply really fast to our questions. We spend 2 nights & ready to return for our next escapade in San Diego.

Clean and Safe

Great little place. Very clean. Impressed with Rosy’s responsiveness. She sent me photos on how to find the place and to navigate the long narrow driveway before check in. That was key or I would have never found the place. Overall very good. Small car definitely better since the parking space is tight and the driveway is narrow and long. Sweet little San Diego Studio

My son and I needed a place to stay for 2 nights while checking off Petco Park on our MLB stadium tour. We chose this location because it was close to everything we wanted to do and see in San Diego - less than 15mins to the stadium, beach, Coronado, etc... The place was clean, cute and comfortable with several little thoughtful add ons. Rosy was an amazing hostess! You could tell it was important to her that we had a wonderful time and were comfortable in her place. I had messed up the scheduling for our trip and realized we were going to need to leave by 4am own our departure morning. I let Rosy know that we were going to leave that early. She replied by telling me I didn't need to worry about any of the check-out responsibilities and to just get up and go and have safe travels. It's nice to know that people you've never met still care about you and will make some sacrifices/exceptions for a stranger's well-being. :) Thank you Rosy!

Great studio for a short stay

The studio is small but spacious and has everything you need. Fully stocked kitchen and bathroom. Rosy was a great host, very communicative and responsive. Parking is tight but we have a small car so we made it work. Also just to note, not that this reflects on Rosy's place, but there are a couple of noisy dogs next door just for your awareness. Overall a really great studio, we stayed over a long weekend with our dog and everything worked out great for us!

Would definitely stay again!

Rosy was very responsive! The patio had flies (probably due to pets) and she immediately had it cleaned so that I could work outside. The bed could be a bit more comfortable as I sank in a bit on the left side. Other than that, everything was perfect and I will definitely return when I come back to the area! I felt safe and had what I needed!

Cute Little Bungalow

We stayed in San Diego for a quick weekend trip. The host was a great communicator. This place is very cute and perfect for a small group of 3.
