Enjoy a private wilderness getaway and unwind on a beautiful working farm. Your private cottage is located on Putney Mountain in Brookline VT. This charming dwelling offers an outdoor grill on a large deck with field and forest views. Enjoy watching the cows and sheep in nearby pastures, and the sun setting on nearby mountains. The space is radiant floor heated in the winter and VT cool in the summer. Electric car charging on request is available. This location is perfect for nature lovers, with a local rivers and miles of trails nearby for hiking and mountain biking. Stratton Mt and Mt Snow are only a half hour away and nearby lakes and rivers are perfect for canoeing and kayaking.

Johnny and Sara were incredibly welcoming and kind. Both went out of their way to make our stay fun and interesting (e.g., got to hand feed their cows and sheep, great restaurant recommendations, etc)! The guesthouse was perfect for 4 - we had a really lovely time!

What a lovely stay! Picturesque and true to Vermont. Morning coffee on the deck watching the fog lift from the valley was a highlight. Our hosts were fantastic and extremely considerate from booking to checkout. Would definitely stay again.

The property is exactly what I had hoped for. It is definitely one of the better places that I have stayed. It was clean and very comfortable for us. But what made the stay exceptional was the excellent reception and how accommodating Sara and Johnny were. No question, they were the best hosts that I have ever encountered. I'm looking forward to the next time.

I loved this place. Sometimes character wins over everything else. We stayed here at the tail end of our 10 day, 3 state vacation and we were tired. This place was perfect for just relaxing. I loved having the cows and sheep around making their noises sporadically throughout the day. It was also well stocked and had a very freindly owner.

The Swing House is a great place to disconnect and rest. We stayed here during our Son’s College drop off and orientation. We loved seeing the cows and sheep roam while taking in great views of the sun setting and stars shining. We will be back to stay for parents weekend at Landmark College!

Rest and relaxation

If you want peace and quiet, this is the place. Perfect, friendly hosts always willing to share their experience. Time stood still during our visit. At night, the fireflies and stars were brilliant!We plan to visit again.

Our favorite stay in Vermont!

The location is beautiful and convenient to multiple hiking trails. We loved watching the sunset on the deck and the atmosphere is incredibly relaxing. Johnny and Sara are wonderful, welcoming hosts and we enjoyed getting to know them and seeing their incredibly property. The house has all that you’ll need for a comfortable farmstay! Even on hot days it cools off at night for comfortable sleeping. You won’t regret staying here!

Fantastic little retreat spot

The location is idyllic, the hosts are extremely friendly and helpful and the actual house is really clean, neat and serene. I'll definitely be coming back!

Quiet, peaceful cabin in a lovely location

We enjoyed a lovely Christmas getaway here. Beautiful setting with mountain views and truly spectacular stars at night - there was so little light pollution we could even make out the shape of the milky way! And the silence was absolute - so peaceful! Sara and Johnny were very responsive and helpful hosts!

Such an enjoyable stay!

We really enjoyed our stay here! Sara and Johnny were phenomenal hosts. The house was very clean and comfortable. The area and fall foliage were beautiful! We got to participate in feeding the farm animals in the morning which was so cool to see. Great for any age!

Good retreat

We rented the property for a weekend of skiing. Found it to be a great, quiet retreat. Hosts were great to deal with, and we'd be glad to book again.

We had a great stay and Johnny was a gracious host. Beautiful view from the deck and lots of great hiking nearby. Bottle feeding the lambs in the evening was an unexpected bonus. We'd definitely return for another stay in the future.

Relaxing getaway

This was a perfect, relaxing cottage for our short get away in VT! Everything was clean and inviting and Sara was super friendly and helpful with recommendations. The Mountain View’s were lovely and the cows and sheep made excellent neighbors:)

Very nice, remote, and peaceful

My husband and I really enjoyed our long weekend stay. Johnny and Sara were great. We were immediately welcomed as we drove in. The guest home had a list of local restaurants and other places to visit, but Johnny was also very helpful recommending restaurants and a grocery store in the area. The house was very clean and although there was no air conditioning, the house was cool at night with the windows open and the fan going. The wraparound deck was an amazing place to watch the sunset and see the cows and sheep on the property. I would recommend this place for anyone looking for some peace and quiet.
