We had a very nice stay at this home. The decor is a little quirky, but it's a beautiful home, very clean, and the layout is great. The bedrooms are downstairs and each have their own bathroom. From upstairs, you can see the beach and across the bay to Santa Cruz. You can always find something to do - from shopping at the Farmer's Market, to horseback riding, to wine tasting (we went to David Bruce Winery), to walking on the shoreline and just "beaching it". A very cozy place to relax.

We enjoyed our stay in this well-equipped and art-filled home. Bali is the theme and we appreciated all the art and collections. The house was immaculate and even featured live orchids and other tropical plants. A block from the beach with great views of the pacific was a big treat for us.

Eclectic, Asian influences everywhere, Zen, lovely and peaceful. Had a wonderful time here. Clean, beautifully decorated. Real plants and flowers instead of fake. Beds are comfortable (which is rare in my experience.) the view of the ocean is great. A block from the ocean. We had a small glitch with one of the appliances and the property manager was ready to send someone out asap. With the help of the owner we were able to fix the glitch. great customer service and very responsive. Steep stairs, so wouldn't work for anyone with mobility issues. They have sugar, coffee, condiments so we didn't have to buy anything, including condiments. Fully equipped kitchen with full set of dishware, Pots and pans look new. No leftover junk. We rarely left the house we loved it so much. Would stay here again. Steep stairs, so wouldn't work for anyone with mobility issues.

Beautiful location and loved the interior vibe, but everything was really old. I felt dirty sitting on the sofa, the bed covers had stains all over them, the outside area was really gross and that is where we wanted to spend our time. The table is cracked with mold and moss growing in it, the lighting tube had black mold growing in it and hanging in the corner with no where to prop it up. I tripped over it a couple times. Major hazard. The umbrella they have out there is broken and the chairs were covered in cob webs. Great location, but we would not stay here again.

Very comfortable

Beach is steps away, ocean view, everything you would want, fully stocked kitchen. Great communication with mgr. Table on balcony needs repair, umbrella also needs a better stand but still ok. Bar stools on the balcony would lift you up enough to enjoy the view from there.

Great stay at the beach

We had a lovely time at your beach house. The house was in a great location and we loved the view from upstairs. Plenty of space in the house and everything that we needed. The beds could have been a little more comfortable, but other than that, everything was great!

Beautiful getaway

We had a fabulous time! The location was great and beach despite being a holiday weekend wasn't too over crowded. I looked forward to walking to grab a coffee and strolling by the beach every morning. The house was comfortable and very well stocked with all the things we needed. Many rentals didn't include beach towels and this place had towels and more! Thanks for a great home away from home

Short beach getaway!

We enjoyed our 3 night stay at Rio Del Mar Beach. The house was great, clean, comfortable for 4 adults, equipped with everything you would need. And just a very short walk to the beach, with great ocean views from the deck. Had some beautiful sunsets. Had fun exploring the area: farmers market, Nisene Mark Park, Capitola, and many beach walks. We hope to return sometime soon!

Great Location, Don't Stay Here if You Are Tall

Overall this property is fantastic! Great location, with many amenities and an ocean view. I stayed here with my sister, my 84-year-old mother and her 83-year-old girlfriend. It was a good thing that they are both short petite women as the bed in one of the bedrooms is up against the wall and has an ornate wood frame on three of the sides, similar to a toddler bed making it impossible for a tall person to sleep in. Unfortunately, these older ladies had to get up frequently throughout the night and my mom had to crawl over her friend to get out of bed. I would stay here again if the bed was changed, making it truly possible for four adults (regardless of height) to stay.

Beautifully decorated and comfortable

We didn't spend much time at this house, since we were joining family nearby for holiday activities throughout most of our time there. But I thoroughly enjoyed the beautiful and interesting decor in this home, full of interesting fun-to-look-at and artistic things. We had one problem, in that we couldn't find the thermostat the night we arrived, and the property manager wasn't able to help us until we discovered it ourselves in the light of the following morning. (We thought the thermostat in the bedroom just wasn't working, not realizing that there was a working thermostat in the darkened hall between the rooms). So it might be good to describe this more clearly! But the beds were very comfortable, and we were generally very pleased to be in this home once we got the heat to work!

Property had an amazing location and vibe! Very clean, well stocked and user friendly. I truly enjoyed my stay and antipate returning. Minor miscommunication from property management company regarding check in email that was immediately corrected. I highly recommend staying here!

This is a great house and location. Large bedrooms, each with their own full bath. The entire house was spotless. The provisions are very thoughtful and generous -- plenty of towels, kitchen ware for every need, etc. A real gem.

Friends long weekend at the beach

The house was well-maintained and comfortable. Great property management, there was an appliance issue and the management phoned us prior to arrival to notify and already had repair scheduled. Kitchen had plenty of dishes and glasses. Appliances all nice and modern. Safeway is very close for a grocery run. We walked down to the beach easily. I recommend this property and would not hesitate to reserve it again. I am grateful we had the opportunity to experience it. Suggestion to owner: The front of house bedroom is really large and the bed is up against wall so it's awkward to get in and out if two are using the bed. Reconfigure the furniture layout in that space and consider adding a second smaller bed in there.

Comfortable, clean and thoughtful. Awesome Bali theme and artwork. Convenient to Santa Cruz and Monterrey. Excellent nearby grocery store. The street noise was loud at times but quiet at night.

A perfect view in a perfect spot!

This home was fabulous. I will definitely book again. The proximity to the beach, fabulous food, great excursions, it is all fabulous! Even if you just want a weekend near the beach with a fabulous view from the deck, this place it perfect.

Beautiful location

The location of the property was very beautiful!! Unfortunately, it didn’t seem like there was attention to detail as far as cleaning goes. There was a stain on our blanket and a couple of spider webs around the home. Overall, we really enjoyed the home and our stay.

Voici pourquoi l’hĂŽte a choisi cet hĂ©bergement

I've always wanted to live in a beach house. When I saw this home, I fell in love with it and bought it on the spot. What I enjoy: walking on the beach, walking to the famous Cement Ship at the Seacliff State Beach, walking to the quaint village of Aptos. I like the sweet and small Visitors Center, also located in Seacliff State Park. You just walk right to it! I love the food at the Pixie Deli around the corner. They make it easy to take a picnic to the beach. There's nothing like lying on a beach blanket on the warm sand. I read my book—for about 10 minutes. And then...I feel relaxed and dreamy, imagination in free rein. The waves, the birds, the breeze. I'm in a deeply restful place, and when I return I feel renewed, refreshed, and happy. And it all happens without getting into a car. Just a minute's walk from the house and there it is. My joy.

At Bali-by-the-Beach, I enjoy peace of mind and serenity. So much so that sometimes it is hard to leave! I'm so entranced by the view that it's just as good to see the view as it is to be in the view (i.e. on the beach). I feel in harmony with existence here.
