House is very nice, walking distance to a walking trail and very close to town center. The owner is very responsive and clearly cares about the house and his guests.
The house was the perfect quiet hideaway in a quaint little historic town. The layout is quirky but you soon get used to it and it all makes sense. ENORMOUS surrounding green space and perfect patio placement to watch the storms blow through. Well stocked and easy to reset.
All new appliances and very family friendly layout. Host super responsive. Just a great place to stay and visit family and the DC area. Will stay again for sure.
We came up for a wedding. It was in a great location. We could avoid 95 traffic and get to most stores and restaurants with little traffic. Plenty of space and unique!
Absolutely loved our stay. The property is close to everything, but out of the way so you feel like you are in the woods. The deck off of the master was absolutely wonderful. We were very lucky that we got to see a Firework show perfectly from the comfort of the house. Would definitely stay again!!
Thoroughly enjoyed property and home; nice easy walks and loved outdoor firepit one evening. The upper deck was perfect for morning coffee. Darling little town to walk around.
We enjoyed what we started calling âthe treehouseâ. The unique architecture and the setting on a hill in the trees was a welcome retreat from busy NOVA. The owner was responsive and accommodating. We were thankful to be able to bring our pup along and he explored the yard while we picked raspberries and appreciated the multiple outdoor spaces. The house was tastefully decorated and accommodated our party of four quite nicely. The location near town was wonderful for exploring the many restaurants and shops. We hope to come again in the future!
This was just a perfect place to stay. I could walk to Occoquan every day in just minutes to go shopping, site seeing and dining. The house was very clean and had everything you could need including a washing machine and dishwasher.
I booked this home for my wedding weekend so my bridal party could all get ready together. There was plenty of space with lots of room for everyone to spread out.
My wife and stay at the historic home for wedding. We love our stay and all the nearby attractions and restaurants in historic Occoquan the house cozy and lots of room outside and inside I really enjoy the deck in the master bedroom in the morning just listening to nature, thank you Mr Fred for your hospitality
Eclectic Furnishings but pretty comfy place. Some of the floors bowed significantly in the family room and upstairs bedroom and the outside looks like it could use some attention.
We enjoyed our stay as the location was great.
My spouse had a training in DC and we decided to make it a family trip. So we brought 4 kids and a fur baby. The place was spacious and comfortable. We did have an accident while staying and the insurance was able to handle the situation. We enjoyed our stay.
We are from NC and visited with our future daughter-in-law. While in Occoquan we did some shopping and had dinner. We loved the scenic view of the River and the walking path.
We stayed in Occoquan in the days leading up to a convention in DC. The location was excellent, the town very charming. The house is an older house, which has undergone extensive updates and renovations. There are a few items still to be addressed, but nothing to dampen our stay. We look forward to returning to enjoy nearby kayaking.
Family staycation away from home. Family and Friends got together for a relaxation hang out. The house is nuzzled in a small riverfront town with wonderful little shops decorated in Christmas spirit. The house itself beautiful wood molding, spacious living room, and great bedrooms. Thank you so much for hosting us and sharing your wonderful home.
This is a perfect house for a family reunion in Occoquan and more than ample space for 6+, with a spacious upstairs master bedroom with amazing deck and view and two downstairs bedrooms, each with two twin beds. In addition, the spacious family room was the perfect gathering place for the entire extended family in the area.Checking in and out is super easy with the digital lock, and Fred is easily accessible both through VRBO and texting.
This property was built by hand by Benjamin McKenzie in 1950s. He was a fighter jet pilot during WWII and later on became a commercial airline pilot after the war. He and his family lived here for many years prior to being purchased by us. Once we purchased this property we completely remodeled the interior but it still has the vintage original feeling and soul with a modern twist. The house has 3 acres of beautiful land that's great for walking and biking.
