Enjoy a kitchen, lux bathroom, smart TV, and cozy seating for unwinding after your adventures. Morning brings the sound of hundreds of tropical birds singing in the lush trees that surround you. Great waterfalls and hikes near by too! Message us and let us impress you with our response time!



The Space:

You will love staying here at this comfortable home in a gated neighborhood. Cook meals in our kitchen or take a short drive to Hilo's best restaurants. At the end of your Hawaiian adventures of the day, pure luxury awaits you with a luxury King beda and quality linens. Wind-down with some soothing Hawaiian tunes by listening to our record player which can also connect to your phone. It's a perfect way to chill while reviewing the days photos. Mornings bring the sounds of 100s of tropical birds in the near by trees with filtered sunlight beckoning you to get outside in the fresh air.



We provide a futon for optional 3rd adult or 2 little ones.



This private detached above garage apartment is part of a much larger oceanfront estate. The main house is also used as a short term rental unit. If Interested, we can send you the link. It is important to note, when renting this unit, you do not have access to land behind the ohana unit so we can protect the privacy of the guests staying there. You have the private studio and the front yard to enjoy. There is parking for one car please.



There is no A/C. Please feel free to use the 2 provided box fans and ceiling fan.



We are full time hosts and want to give you a great experience. Mahalo!

Great private location, quiet and beautiful place to relax but close to activities. We cooked most of our meals there in the little kitchen which provided most of the essentials. The washer and dryer was perfect for our week stay. The room stayed cool with the extra fans. We definitelywill be returning.

The stay was amazing!! Very private and well kept. Amenities were very sufficient for our needs. The views from the back of the property are spectacular. We were able to see whales and spinner dolphins from the ledge, which only added to our experience on the island. The communication and access to the property was excellent and easy. We came in well after hours due to our flight and the directions were very easy to follow and put us at ease trying to locate everything. Thank you so much for hosting us on this trip to Hawaii we will definitely share your home with our family and friends. Can’t wait to come back for another visit.

The property is impressive and breathtaking. Directly behind it is huge cliffs overlooking the ocean. We saw several whales back there. You walk through their deep (acres) backyard and come out to this shaded oasis. Be aware there is no beach access, you are on a cliff with no beach. Below the water rages on a rocky shore. This area is rural and you likely won’t see anyone else back there. This place is extremely secluded, safe and peaceful. There is a gate to the community and another gate to the property. The studio above the garage is cute and comfy. It has all the basics. The bed was extremely comfortable. We absolutely enjoyed our stay and would stay there again.

I am from the mainland and my manager lives in Hawaii. I love to travel and fell in love with the Hamakua Coast on the Big Island. It has been so nice for me and my manager to talk with the guests and hear their stories and adventures from the home stay and the Island.

Voici pourquoi l’hôte a choisi cet hébergement

The incredible coastline and acreage in the gated, safe community with a lot of beautiful real estate. Goats, cows, sheep and horses on surrounding properties. Views from the road of the back side of Mauna Kea and fields of cane grass make this place so nicely rural. Close to Hilo to the South and a wonderful drive to Waimea going North past bridges and waterfalls.

Acreage, Coastal, Rural, Gated subdivision, creeks and waterways, farmland with goats, sheep and cows. Near the 4 mile scenic loop and Botanical Gardens. Many waterfalls and hikes in the area.
