Lake Front Cabin on Diamond Lake

Enjoy the sunrise as you sip your morning beverage on one of your two private decks. Multi-level cottage built at the turn of the 20th Century during the logging era includes a recently renovated upper level, full kitchen with dining table, and two bathrooms with showers; both the upstairs and downstairs have a living space with TV. Upstairs includes a double bed in the bedroom, and a futon in the living room couch. Downstairs includes a queen, double and twin bed. With over 200 footage of sandy beach The Blue Heron Retreat allows you and your guests to splash, play and relax. This rental at the Blue Heron Retreat is located down the hill (30 steps). 2 sets of additional steps to the beach and we have a stair lift for those who may need it. Venture out further into the lake for fishing, kayaking, boating or catching the sunset.

October through April our minimum stay is 2 nights with a maximum of 14. During our peak season, May through September, rentals are Friday to Friday. This allows the perfect amount of time for you to experience all that Blue Heron Retreat has to offer and for our cleaning services to be scheduled every Friday from 11am to 4pm.

The Eagles Nest is the text book definition of a Michigan cabin on an idyllic lake. The cabin is clean and comfortable with great views of the water and everything you need to enjoy your time there. Diamond Lake is picturesque and relaxing. Fire pit, hot tub and lots of cozy spots with great views. Check in and out was smooth and easy and Christine and Ken were friendly and readily available. We’ll go back again.

This is the perfect lake getaway, particularly at this price point. Note that it is one private bedroom, however there are 3 beds in the open basement that comfortably slept 5 of our family members. This lake is beautiful with all the fun of an all sports lake, including available boat rental right there at the cabin. We had a blast for a week in the Eagles Nest cabin in July and would absolutely return.

We loved staying here. It’s a very private nice cabin to stay in. Loved the beach access right outside our cabin. Our dogs absolutely loved it. And the hot tub was a hit for the teen girls. We will be back. And the pontoon rental was easy and convenient

The property worked out great for our 4 families. The kids had fun fishing and everyone enjoyed the hot tubs. No troubles the whole weekend. Christine greeted us warmly and was available via cell to answer questions.

The Eagle’s Nest was an awesome place to stay for a week! The Blue Heron property was immaculate. The network of stairways was fun for our youngest to play hide and seek on. Three docks to fish from and plenty of beachfront. Even on the hottest days we could still find shade on the beach. The lake was great, not busy. 7 of us stayed and we were comfortable. Way worth the trip!

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay here. The cabin was clean and well equipt and the host very courteous and helpful. The area has lots of great hiking trails. The cabin is built on a hillside near the lake and has a noticeable tilt, but seemed solid and we hope not in any structural risk, as it is a very nice place to stay.

Best week of relaxing! Enjoyed fishing every day and was elated to see my boys reel in the biggest bass I have ever seen. The cabin is cozy and comfy. My family enjoyed our stay there!! Nothing but smiles all week! I can’t wait to return!! Highly recommend!!

Awesome host!

Christine was very accommodating, making room to dock our boat, offering suggestions on what to do in the area, and also offering games for our granddaughters to play when it was raining. We all had a great time fishing, tubing, swimming and kayaking.

Christine was great. She even took a boat ride with us and told us all about the area. Downstairs was very private for my daughter, son in law, and 2 grandchildren. Whata beautiful location. We will be back!

The Blue Heron Retreat has four rental units that all boast of their lake views, The Blue Heron Suite, Fisherman’s Cove, and Sunrise Suite are all attached to the main lodging. The Eagles Nest is a separate cabin overlooking the water. We have a number of amenities and common spaces on our property that are available for all guests, including kayaks, hot tubs, fire pit, multiple deck spaces (including our new Grotto), and more. Further you’ll find the Loda Lake Wildflower Sanctuary, Lake Michigan (only a 35-minute drive), and the Muskegon River for swimming, kayaking, tubing, fishing and so much more!
