Matagorda est connue pour sa superbe plage, sa pêche et son observation des oiseaux. Vous pouvez conduire sur 20 miles de plage. La pêche, le décorticage et l'observation des oiseaux sont toujours bons. Ce n'est pas comme Galveston avec des troupeaux de personnes. Les seuls troupeaux sont des bovins que vous pouvez voir derrière la plage brouter de l'herbe d'hiver.

Tout ce que vous devez apporter est de la nourriture, des serviettes de plage et vos jouets préférés. Les cuisines sont entièrement meublées, avec suffisamment de fournitures pour plusieurs jours. Les condos sont juste à côté du club house et de la piscine. Sortez juste de votre porte et traversez le pont. Vous êtes à quelques pas des dunes de sable, traversez-les et vous êtes sur la plage ou vous pouvez obtenir un permis de plage dans les magasins locaux et conduire sur la plage.

The stay was very nice. We enjoyed almost having the pool to ourselves the entire trip. We were close enough to the beach to walk and the river was on the other side of the main road so access to great fishing from both directions. Throughly enjoyed our stay

Loved the location, the pool and the space, in general. Kitchen has everything you could need in a home away from home. The condo was not very clean upon arrival. Dead insects on floor, in bathtubs etc. Upstairs was warm, but the host has fans readily available. Regardless, the weekend was fun and the location and space were fantastic. Would stay here again!

Peaceful getaway

Loved the property and the pool! So quiet and peaceful! We brought our own food and cooked the whole time because we knew there weren’t many restaurants that were close. It was perfect!

We really enjoyed our weekend in Matagorda. The condo was very clean and slept 5 adults very easily. We also appreciated the owners being dog friendly and allowing us to take our Golden Retriever. It is only 2 hours from Houston so we will go back again.

Quick Family Getaway

Our family took a quick before school beach vacation and decided to stay at this wonderful condo. The location is great as it is right by one of the local beaches. Not walking distance necessarily, but you can drive there in less than 2 mins. The condo also has a great pool that you can chill at all day. Overall, we had a fantastic stay and would recommend to anyone interested in a beach getaway.

The online roces was simple and quick. Condo management reach via text and email. The condo estate is gated with a code. The condo was well maintained and clean. The condo is right off the beach! My family has rented from this area 4 times.

Close proximity getaway

My Fiancé and I needed a quick getaway that wasn’t too far from home and this beach condo was perfect. Location to beach was so convenient and the fully stocked kitchen and amenities were so nice when preparing our dinner. The mattress was so comfortable - need to get the brand! John was very communicative and helped me through questions in directions, how to work the lock and what I needed to do to get Netflix on the TV. We enjoyed watching the sun set on the back patio. Definitely recommend for anyone that wants a clean well decorated cozy space conveniently located to the beach.

We arranged a week's visit here on the WEB, taking what we considered a big gamble in order to see young relatives who had just moved to TX; spent Christmas week in Condo 1 and found it just right for us, 2 small dogs, and visitors. The well-equipped kitchen made preparing the wonderful seafood available nearby too easy (!), good FM radio, PBS on the TV, a great table for jigsaw puzzles, amazingly nice weather, and the beautiful beach for great walks. Considerate and helpful owners (does everybody get a bag full of ripe avocados?). Definitely worth a second or third or fourth visit! Thanks!

The location was great and the pool was awesome. We were there for July 4th and there were PLENTY of fireworks out on the beach.That being said, this is an older condo and it kinda looks it. The pictures are also a little misleading in that the sofa shown is not what is currently in the condo. The current sofa is more like a daybed from the 1960s with no back. Also, there is not a picture of the spiral staircase leading to the loft upstairs where the 2nd bed and bath are located. Due to this lack of knowledge one of our party had to sleep on a very uncomfortable sofa because they couldn't make it up the spiral stair case. Also, the A/C vent outside the downstairs bathroom needs to be cleaned and there was also a roach motel under the sofa that our toddler got into. Yuck!

Ive stayed here twice. Both times the owner has been nothing but rude to me upon checkout. This place is not worth the hassle unless its last minute and everything else is booked. The place is a dump, its outdated, the bed is disgusting, the sheets look like they are from the 1980s, the pillows are brown and old, the towels are moldy, there is mold in the shower, the dishes are dirty, the appliances are from the 80s (literally) , the AC turns off mid day, the internet is slow, the grill is rusted out, the common grounds are in disrepair and pool is filthy The stairs are rusty with sharp edges and very dangerous for children. The deck has exposed nails and splinters. The kitchen table is covered in plastic wrap. The owner hasn't put a dime into this place and freaks out if a closet light is left on at checkout. This is not a nice place to take your family.

Our condo is regularly maintained inside and out. The vast majority of guests are very pleased with the overall experience of staying at our condos in Matagorda. We have lots of guests that come back every year and some more than once a year. While we try to provide our guests with the ultimate and best enjoyment possible, we are realistic in recognizing that we cannot please every guest all the time. Unfortunately this guest decided to write a bad review about us after staying with us three times since last year. Before his last stay I asked him to please make sure he shut and locked the doors since he had failed to do so twice previously. When I brought this to his attention again he got angry and said he would leave a bad review. He thought I was scolding him like a child and that was definitely not my intention. I think all our guests would agree to wanting to have a safe and secure place to stay. I am truly sorry that things ended this way with this guest.

Getting away to it all

At first glance, we weren't quite sure if the grandkids would enjoy being so far away from everything. There are no rollercoasters, arcades or fast paced "entertainment" options. We were in town for our 6 year old to run in the Jr. Olympics in Houston. We were 2.5 hours from the meet and it was so nice to leave the chaos and come back to the quiet! We swam EVERY day in the gorgeous pool and we spent lots of time at the beach. The kids are 6 and 4 and they absolutely loved our time at Matagorda. We took a day trip to Galveston which was a blast! Our favorite food was cooking fresh seafood at home from Buddy's. PS Love the decor!!

Great Sunsets and Very Remote

If you are looking to get away from it all, then this is your place! The remote condo offers a great view of the community pool and ocean. Be prepared to make full use of the kitchen (which is well stocked with dishware) as some of the handful of restaurants in Matagorda are closed and one burnt down... leaving Bay City (30 mins away) as the primary source for groceries and restaurants. The kayak and watersports business also closed in the last year and the kids got bored of just the pool and the beach after about 4 days. The only real detractor was the millions of mosquitos in the area, that seemed immune to the copious amounts of off we applied to ourselves. The local residents said this was due to an inordinate amount of rain this year. Overall a 4/5 star rating for us.
