À propos de cet hébergement

Blue Wahoo – Quiet Island Cottage Close to Everything

Welcome to Blue Wahoo — a comfortable coastal cottage designed for relaxing, reconnecting, and enjoying everything Dauphin Island has to offer. Ideal for fishing trips, family weekends, couples, or anyone wanting island convenience without beachfront pricing. A short bike ride or quick drive puts you near beaches, restaurants, shops, and the boat launch, while the quiet neighborhood setting offers a slower pace to unwind. With generous parking and covered clearance below, Blue Wahoo also works especially well for guests bringing a boat. Blue Wahoo was personally designed and built by the owner, and its thoughtful layout has become one of the most popular small coastal cottage plans offered through Architectural Designs. Several guests have even stayed here to experience the design before building a similar home of their own. After a day on the water, at the beach, or exploring the island, relax on the deck, grill dinner, and enjoy the laid-back pace of island life. Whether you're planning a fishing trip, a beach weekend, or simply a quiet coastal escape, Blue Wahoo is set up to make island time easy, comfortable, and memorable.

Very well stocked with basic essentials. There was even a fun little snack tray on the table when we checked in. Bicycles were provided. There are old school video games in the loft. We felt like kids with all the fun we had here. Beds are comfortable and bathrooms clean and roomy.

Our stay at the Blue Wahoo was a great time! It was centrally located and included not just two bikes, but four, which made exploring the island more fun after a long drive from Ohio. The kitchen and laundry were well stocked with coffee pods and laundry pods which made our stay more relaxed and convenient. The house was clean and the AC welcome as it was very hot and humid the week that we were there. There were plenty of towels for multiple showers a day as well. The loft with the futon bed and video games and TV was a favorite for my 12 year old. Thanks for a great stay Alan!

Cozy on Chammout

Such a cozy place to stay while on the Island. There are restaurants that are within walking distance and we loved using the bicycles to ride to the beach. The kids had fun with the loft area. We broke in the kitchen appliances and cooked up a delicious birthday feast. Alan, the host, was the greatest! He has thought of everything and when we needed him, he was easy to get a hold of. Definitely recommend spending time at Blue Wahoo.

Blue Wahoo

The Blue Wahoo as it's referred to by the owner Mr. Duncan is a wonderful place to stay on Dauphin Island. It is a very quiet location if your looking for peace and quite away from the hustle and bustle of life. The cottage is conveniently located within walking distance of restaurant and shopping. If you need to go a bit further Mr. Duncan does supply a couple nice beach cruiser bikes, so no need to drive your vehicle. Overall I would give this cottage 10 stars and will be staying here when available during our visits to Dauphin Island.

Lucky to have gotten this booking

Alan's place was just as described. It is not only newly constructed, if is very well designed. Spacious kitchen and a bathroom for each bedroom. Nice deck and a quiet street. Especially appreciated the covered parking and ability to bring our dog. Although rental prices on the island are high this time of year, we were attracted to begin with by the lower than average rate. And it is always nice when the host is quick to respond to any questions or requests, which Alan did every time.
