Clean and Excellent location

The place was just cleaned when we arrived and perfect for our stay. We did not miss having a kitchen, we got some food to keep in the fridge and went out for most of our meals. There is plenty to do in John’s pass and the surrounding area. If you’re looking for someplace clean, inexpensive, and ON THE BEACH, this is your place.

Johns pass and more

Johns pass is right across the street, offers tons to do, walk out onto the beach anytime and swim in the pool. The place is small but perfect for 1-2 people for the week! Only complaint was the bed was harder than what we’re used too so that took a few nights to get used too, other than that we loved the place and will be back!

Christmas Vacation

Cute little place right on the beach! Good space for two people. Close to restaurants and bars. Nice heated pool. Only thing I didn’t really like was the moldy/low pressure shower head . Otherwise we really enjoyed our stay!

Love Surfsong. The staff is very friendly and the rooms are very clean. Been coming here for years when the kids were young. They are grown with kids of their own now. Already have reservations for 2021🙂

Just a few things

There were coolers in the closet for us to use! Great! They have old empty cans/bottles in them and were dirty. There wasn't any kleenex. It was EXTREMELY NOISY and lastly, I either wasn't told about the different code for the elevator and stairs or I completely missed it in one of the emails. I hate to complain about those things but overall, we really enjoyed it, would stay again and recommend it to others! Thank you!

Perfect for us

We stayed at your location specifically for the distance to everything we like to do. The weather was not our friend, but we did manage to have a great time. The room was perfect for just two people. The pool was heated just as described, but we didn’t use it due to the weather. The communication between the office personnel was excellent. I loved having a door code to access our unit instead of keeping track of keys. Would definitely stay here again.

Birthday getaway

This wasn’t by any means the nicest place I’ve ever stayed. There were renovations happening to the place while we were there, but just in our room there were a few cracks in the ceiling and in the shower. The place looked old, but met the basic requirements for a room. The LOCATION is what sells you! The pool was directly outside of our room and the beach was immediately outside of the pool area; couldn’t ask for a more perfect set up in that regard. Ava directly across the street was the pier that had a million places to eat and drink. We had a blast!

June stay - perfect

Check in was fast and easy. We arrived a little early; they were accommodating and we were able to check in early. The space is small, but we knew that already. There is a microwave, a small fridge and coffee maker. If you want to cook, you will want a room with a kitchen. The property has different sized rooms to choose from. The pool was awesome and cleaned every morning. The property and seating areas were always clean as well. This property is RIGHT on the beach. Perfect. As far as restaurants, stores, nightlife...it is all very close. Excellent location.

Surf Song 154 in March

Overall, I recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: Let me start by saying that we have been coming to Surf Song for over 20yrs. We have stayed in many of the units. Love the atmosphere and have always enjoyed our time there and will continue to come back. It's a perfect location and is very reasonably priced. Always a joy to deal with all the employees.Unit 154 however is in need of some TLC. Bathroom door and vanity are both peeling. The unit is in need of a thorough cleaning. I spent at least a hour+ cleaning the air conditioner vents, dusting under and behind furniture, the tops and sides of tv stand, headboard, footboard and the dehumidifier...which I never got clean. It in particular was disgusting. We also killed 3 of the biggest cockroaches I have ever seen. That was a 1st for us at Surf Song. We will absolutely return but hoping conditions have improved.

I would never come to the Gulf coast and NOT stay here. SunHost offers multiple properties to suit your needs. From the moment of booking to check out the process was conveniently laid out. Our room was recently renovated with exquisite taste. Keep reading.... I have some insight. In the room is a beautiful, tiled shower. Included were towels, wash cloths, a tiny hand soap bar and TP. *Bring your own body wash, shampoo, conditioner etc. Our bed was comfortable, thread count was low on the sheets (having gotten sunburned, I would have appreciated softer sheets). A very clean and comfortable couch, we never opened it to see the pull out. A dresser we never used, but it held a TV and our snacks. There is a kitchen stand that holds plates, cups, silverware, coffee pot and microwave. There is no table to sit at. You are also left to wash dishes in the bathroom sink. Or you can bring paper plates/plastic silverware. **Note to owner, I would suggest for functionality of the room- put a tall dresser in the closet, leaving the other half for hanging clothes. Mount the TV to the wall, remove the dresser and utility cart and install a counter with a small sink for dish washing with cupboards below. Store your microwave below and get a Keurig. With that being said, I would absolutely stay here again, knowing all of this information, you can make it more comfortable.

It's all about the location

I was somewhat dissatisfied with the condition of the vacation rental. Overall, I do not recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: Unit 154 is a Motel Room style Condo. I had spent 9 days in another unit and when I decided to extend my stay this was my only option and it did the job. The view is beautiful and overlooks the pool to the beach. Location in regards to the building is convenient and is sufficient for a few nights stay.The inside needs some updating and reconfiguring. The coffee maker and toaster are located right below the smoke alarm and therefore set the smoke alarm off every time I made toast. The microwave sat on top of a small fridge are plugged into the same power bar which made me a little nervous so I never used the microwave. There is an adjoining door to another room that must be paper thin as I could hear the neighbours voices.The unit is sufficient but a little sprucing up and reconfiguring of smaller furniture would make this unit cute. The building is quite old so do not expect a 5 star resort but it's in a great location with a beautiful view. A roof was being put while we were staying there so hopefully renovations will continue.

If you are booking this room, please keep in mind it is motel style! Nothing fancy at all. However, the location is supreme! Immediate beach front, friendly guests, and right across the street from Johns Pass. We truly did enjoy our stay. Some things to note- It was just right for 2 people, but I wouldn't bring more. The couch is where we put our luggage for the week. The closet has 2 very old beach chairs- worked great for our day trip to Anna Maria Island. The bed is very uncomfortable and the pillows have no stuffing. There are no tables near the bed. Phones and everything were stored across the room. My hubby drinks night time tea and this proved difficult for that. The pool is right outside your window- so remember to close the blinds when getting dressed lol. Noise level was great! Rented cabana on beach for $35 a day. Ate different meals at Johns Pass for entire stay! It's great if you don't plan to spend much time in the room itself. There are other larger suites from what guests told us.
