Thank you for your feedback. While we’re glad you found the property nice, we would like to clarify a few points for future guests reading this review. There was no sewage odor associated with the property. The pipe work that took place a week before their stay was a scheduled maintenance upgrade involving the complete removal and replacement of existing pipes. It was not the result of a sewage problem or an emergency repair. The home has three window air-conditioning units, none of which are more than three years old. The filters on all of the units are cleaned regularly as part of our routine maintenance. The property has never been advertised as having central air conditioning. The listing specifies “A wall unit in each bedroom and a wall unit in the living room.” I was also in contact with the guests by text throughout their stay and was available to address any concerns. At no point during their stay was a mold odor, sewer odor, musty AC, or allergy-related issue brought to my attention. The property is located close to the ocean, so some natural coastal moisture can occur. We take moisture control seriously and use DampRid throughout the home. We also maintain the property regularly to ensure it is clean and comfortable for our guests. We respect that every guest may have a different experience, but we feel it is important to provide these clarifications so that future guests have an accurate understanding of the property, its amenities, and how it is maintained.

I feel the need to respond to my guest's dissatisfaction regarding the amenities they mention. The amenities I supply for my guests are high quality, which I purchase from Costco. As far as the coffee pot goes, I have since used it and am not sure what the issue is. As a side note, when I showed up to clean the house, these guests were still there. When I questioned them, they stated that their check out time was the following day. I called Vrbo to make sure I did not make a mistake, as there was another guest arriving in 3 hours. Vrbo confirmed that I was correct. My guests said they had a dinner party planned for that night. I called my next door neighbor, who I knew also rented out their cottage, to see if I could make accommodations for them for one night. Luckily, my neighbor was able to and these guests were able to book a night next door and have their dinner party. I'm only stating this to show that I always try to go above and beyond for my guests to make sure they have an enjoyable stay.
